Chapter 325 - Training Black-Patterned

Sitting at his desk, Eichi took out his black notebook. More than half of this notebook had already been used, and from the side, the pages looked slightly yellowed.

Eichi flipped through it until he reached a specific page titled "Beedrill Training Plan." This was the original training plan he had formulated for Beedrill right after it evolved.

Flipping further, he saw advanced versions of the plan as Beedrill grew stronger. Now, for Black-Patterned Beedrill, the initial version was more suitable. However, from his current perspective, this plan needed some adjustments.

Thus, Eichi took out his pen and began modifying the original foundation. After half an hour of writing and sketching, a brand-new training plan was born.

Still, he didn't know Black-Patterned Beedrill's specific conditions yet. He would start the training tomorrow, and after gathering data, he might need to revise the plan again.

Behind Eichi, Black-Patterned Beedrill watched everything with a face full of curiosity. It was fascinated by its new surroundings. In the room, besides itself and Beedrill, there were Scizor, Heracross, and Wimpod.

It was somewhat wary of Scizor and Heracross. It could sense that they were both extremely powerful—even stronger than its father. It had heard its father say that in Viridian Forest, these two types of Pokémon were exceptionally strong. It hadn't expected to see them here.

However, it had never seen a Wimpod before and didn't know what kind of Pokémon it was. More importantly, it seemed very timid, hiding alone in the aquarium and refusing to come out.

After finishing his work, Eichi read for a while before getting up to give the group massages. The others were used to it, simply lying down to enjoy the session.

Black-Patterned Beedrill had never tried this before. At first, it found it a bit difficult to accept, but under Eichi's exquisite skill, it soon succumbed. It was too comfortable—a level of enjoyment it had never experienced.

After the massage, it lay in its nest feeling incredibly relaxed. Eichi also returned to his bed to sleep.

Lying there, Eichi began to mobilize the Bug Force within his body. Countless strands of cyan energy surged out, converging in the air into five ribbon-like arcs that poured into the bodies of the five Pokémon.

This was the first time Black-Patterned Beedrill had seen or felt Bug Force. Seeing that the other Pokémon had no reaction and were sleeping normally, it knew this substance wouldn't harm it. It calmed its heart, closed its eyes, and felt the energy pouring in.

The sensation was like soaking its entire body in warm water—warm and soothing. It felt as if it were floating on a cloud, reluctant to come down. Black-Patterned Beedrill drifted off to sleep without even realizing it.

The next morning, Eichi was woken up by his alarm. He got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up. When he reached the hall, his father was already gone. On the table was a prepared breakfast: two slices of bread, a fried egg, and a glass of milk.

The five little fellows were also up, so Eichi began preparing their Pokémon food. Black-Patterned Beedrill looked at the bowl in front of it, filled with Pokémon food and topped with Pokéblocks.

It glanced at Beedrill and noticed that Beedrill's food and Pokéblocks were different from its own. Although confused, it didn't think much of it and started eating. Mmm, so delicious. It tasted even better than the food back in the swarm.

After the meal, Eichi took the five Pokémon out to train. Arriving at the forest training ground, he touched the large tree riddled with holes from Beedrill's stings. He couldn't help but sigh; he was back in this familiar place.

He released the five Pokémon. There didn't seem to be a river nearby, and the nearest water source was quite far, which was a bit unfriendly for Wimpod. Well, it will have to endure training on land for a few days.

As usual, they started with a warm-up. Eichi said, "Beedrill, Heracross, Scizor—you three take Black-Patterned for twenty laps."

The three nodded in understanding. Immediately, Beedrill and Scizor vibrated their wings and flew out. They were very fast, disappearing in an instant.

Seeing them take off, Black-Patterned Beedrill hurriedly vibrated its wings to give chase. Heracross was in no rush; it knew its speed was slower and it couldn't catch up even if it tried, so it just flew along leisurely at the back.

Up ahead, Beedrill and Scizor saw Black-Patterned Beedrill catching up. They intentionally held back, flying slowly. Black-Patterned Beedrill caught up easily and felt it wasn't too difficult or fast—even a bit slower than its usual pace.

Consequently, Beedrill and Scizor exchanged a glance and increased their speed. They pulled away again, and Black-Patterned Beedrill sped up to follow. It still found it easy to stay behind them.

Seeing that Black-Patterned Beedrill still looked relaxed, Beedrill and Scizor suddenly accelerated wildly. Their speed surged, and they instantly vanished from Black-Patterned Beedrill's sight.

Seeing them disappear again, Black-Patterned Beedrill grew anxious and vibrated its wings with all its might to give chase. After ten seconds, it felt despair; there was still no sign of them.

After flying a bit further, it finally caught up. It wasn't really "catching up" so much as Beedrill and Scizor slowing down; otherwise, it would have been impossible.

Beedrill looked back at the struggling Black-Patterned Beedrill. This was likely near its top speed. For the rest of the run, they didn't accelerate further, maintaining that pace for the twenty laps.

Back at the starting point, Eichi said to Wimpod, "Wimpod, you go for a run too. Follow me."

He started running, and Wimpod followed closely. On land, Wimpod was nowhere near as fast as it was in the water. It was much slower, so Eichi had to slow down for it to keep up.

Eichi's current physical fitness was comparable to a top-tier athlete from his previous life—perhaps even a bit better. After leading Wimpod for five laps, Wimpod reached its limit. On land, it really wasn't its strong suit.

Eichi didn't push it and stopped to rest. By then, the four fliers had returned. Black-Patterned Beedrill was panting heavily and soaked in sweat; one could only imagine how exhausted it was.

The moment they returned, Eichi pressed his stopwatch. Then, he took a white notebook from his backpack used to record Pokémon training data. Black-Patterned Beedrill's current data was a far cry from the data from Beedrill's first training session after evolving.
