Chapter 255 - Chapter 255: Dinner at Tokyo Jujutsu High Tonight

"There are quite a few people from Tokyo Jujutsu High tonight, what should I make to eat?"

On a small road outside Tokyo Jujutsu High, Emiya was pondering what to cook tonight.

Today was the day the seventeenth batch of students enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Eichi called him this morning and said that since there were many students this year, they planned to hold a welcome party.

He asked Emiya to prepare some delicious food for the evening.

If there were many people, preparing Japanese home-style dishes would not be suitable.

Home-style dishes in Japan usually come in very small portions.

For example.

When an adult man in Japan returns home after a day of work, his wife often prepares three dishes and one soup for him.

However, the quantity of each dish is very small.

A piece of fish fillet, drizzled with cooking wine, sprinkled with salt, then wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in the oven.

This would be the meat dish for the evening, just one piece of fish fillet.

Then half a cucumber and a chikuwa roll are sliced, sprinkled with something similar to shredded pork floss, and a little vinegar and sesame oil are added. The second dish is ready.

(A chikuwa roll is a cylinder about 6 cm long and 2 cm in diameter, made from fish paste, sugar, and flour.)

Then for the third dish, one-fifth of a white radish is grated using a grater similar to one used for potatoes, forming something that looks like mud. Finally, a little soy sauce is drizzled over it.

Lastly, there is a bowl of miso soup.

This is one of the more common home-cooked meals in Japan.

It is estimated that an adult man with a normal appetite would only feel about seventy percent full.

It is no wonder there are few overweight people in Japan.

The food has little oil and the portions are small.

It is quite difficult to gain weight.

However, there would be many people tonight, and it was a welcome party, an event with celebratory meaning.

Home-style dishes like these, where each portion is not even palm-sized, were not very appropriate.

While he was thinking, a blue figure walked in front of Emiya.

"Yo, Red Guy."

"Hm?"

The cheerful voice caught Emiya's attention.

He looked up and saw Cú Chulainn, the Heroic Spirit of the Lancer class, holding a red fishing rod.

"It's you, Lancer."

For some reason, Cú Chulainn and Emiya often appeared together.

In Cú Chulainn's words:

"No matter where I'm summoned, I always see that face. Seriously, it almost makes me feel like, 'Is this fate?' Ahh, I can't stand it."

However, even Cú Chulainn had to admit that Emiya was indeed reliable when he was an ally.

"You're…"

Emiya's gaze fell behind Cú Chulainn, where a head could faintly be seen.

"Ah, how did you know I caught a big fish today?"

Cú Chulainn suddenly spoke in an exaggerated tone.

"…I have eyes."

Emiya was speechless at Cú Chulainn's undisguised bragging.

"Did you really catch a fish today?"

Looking at the large catch Cú Chulainn held up, Emiya could not help but feel surprised.

It was well known that fishermen caught everything except fish.

Even as a Heroic Spirit, Cú Chulainn often caught absurd things due to his E-rank luck.

In any case, going home empty-handed was never an option.

"Of course, haha."

For some reason, Emiya felt a little annoyed.

Hmm. I have decided.

"Lancer, I'm confiscating this fish."

A cold smile appeared at the corner of Emiya's mouth.

Then he reached out and snatched the fish from Cú Chulainn.

"Eh?"

Immersed in the joy of showing off, Cú Chulainn was caught off guard and Emiya succeeded.

By the time he reacted, his hands were already empty.

"Red Guy, give it back. That's my trophy."

Cú Chulainn immediately stepped forward to reclaim it.

"Master's orders. I need to prepare a lavish dinner tonight. Your fish has been confiscated."

Emiya deftly dodged Cú Chulainn's attacks.

"Damn it. If you want one, go catch your own."

After a chaotic struggle, Emiya, at the cost of preparing a special grand meal for Cú Chulainn later that evening, sent the fish into the kitchen.

In a Tokyo shopping mall, two figures, one red and one blue, walked side by side.

"What are you planning to make tonight?"

Cú Chulainn asked with his hands in his pockets, still a little annoyed.

"How about sushi?"

"Sushi, huh? Sounds good. What do we need to buy?"

"Carrots, shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, bamboo shoots…"

There were many types of sushi, including box sushi, rolled sushi, pressed sushi, nigiri sushi, inari sushi, and scattered sushi.

Nigiri sushi was the most famous and one of the most mainstream ways to eat it.

Emiya planned to make large portions of scattered sushi and small portions of nigiri sushi tonight, and perhaps some box sushi as well.

That way everyone could choose what they liked.

"Hm? Isn't that Rider?"

After finishing their shopping and leaving the mall, the two noticed Medusa's back inside a shop on the street.

"It really is her. Should we go say hello?"

With that, Cú Chulainn, carrying shopping bags, started walking toward the shop entrance.

"No, let's go back to Tokyo Jujutsu High first."

Emiya grabbed Cú Chulainn's shoulder.

With his Clairvoyance, he had already discerned Medusa's situation from a side angle.

Medusa, dressed in casual clothes and wearing her Mystic Eye Killer glasses, was currently looking at something that was clearly a personal hobby. It was best not to disturb her.

The cover of the manga was predominantly pink, with several girls who looked to be elementary school age.

It must be some magical girl series.

Emiya thought to himself.

After working together for several years, he had vaguely noticed that Medusa was attracted to such small and cute things.

However, if he openly mentioned it, he estimated that two stone statues would appear at the shop entrance tomorrow as door guardians.

"Alright."

Although he did not know why Emiya did not want him to greet Medusa.

Cú Chulainn could sense that Emiya was serious, so he did not refuse.

In the Tokyo Jujutsu High kitchen.

Emiya rolled up his sleeves and entered serious mode.

Special Grade Imaginary Heroic Spirit offline.

Special Grade Chef online.

"First, wash the rice, then set it aside to drain."

Emiya washed the rice and placed it in a winnowing basket.

Then he took out the radishes, shiitake mushrooms, and other ingredients they bought at the supermarket today and chopped them up.

After chopping everything, Emiya placed them together with the rice into the rice cooker, added a little soy sauce and other seasonings, then pressed the cook button.

This was for making scattered sushi.

Next, Emiya turned his attention to the large fish Cú Chulainn had caught today.

"Trace on."

Since the ingredients for Tokyo Jujutsu High were procured through specific channels, many were already cut and processed beforehand.

Normally, there was no need to handle such a large fish.

Therefore, there were no corresponding large kitchen knives.

However, this did not trouble Emiya, the Special Grade Chef.

With a simple gesture, Emiya projected a large knife similar to a tuna cutter, then began slicing the fish meat.
