Chapter 250 - chapter 170 part 2

chapter 170 part 2

Today was Daenerys's name day, but Viserys, angry about the suspension of the petitions, hadn't shown his face at all.

Was he no longer angry? Today was a special day. Her brother was her only family, and she truly longed for his blessing.

Brother still loves me… Daenerys quickened her pace joyfully, a wide smile on her face as she opened the door.

...

Viserys Targaryen was being blocked by the guards. He saw Daenerys and, reeking of wine, yelled, "Dany, my dear sister, you truly are a good sister to me! How dare you seize my power and have people watch me! You've got some nerve!"

Daenerys's smile froze, and her eyes instantly grew hot.

Viserys shrieked at Borona and the others blocking his way, "Get out of the way! Can't you see Dany has come out?!"

Daenerys weakly grabbed onto the small round table by the door. The beautiful vase on it wobbled.

Daenerys wanted to explain; she didn't want her brother to continue misunderstanding her.

She said wearily, "Borona, I want to talk to my brother."

Borona turned to look at the fragile Daenerys, nodded lightly, and stepped aside.

A strange smile crept onto Viserys's handsome face as he strode over.

Just as Daenerys was about to speak, she saw Viserys trying to shove his hand down the collar of her dress.

Without a second thought, Daenerys forcefully pushed Viserys away.

Viserys stared at Daenerys, his pale lilac eyes filled with disbelief.

Viserys's entire face contorted. He screeched, "You dare to push me?! Do you mean to wake the dragon?!"

Viserys reached out, his fingers digging into Daenerys's arm… It hurt. It hurt so much that Daenerys felt as if she had reverted to that little girl who would shrink back in fear whenever she saw her brother get angry.

Daenerys raised a hand to stop Borona's movement, while her other hand grabbed the flower vase.

With a crash, Daenerys violently smashed the vase in Viserys's face.

Viserys cried out in pain and fell to the ground, his face instantly covered in blood.

Daenerys roared in fury, "Viserys, do not awaken my true dragon's wrath!"

Fresh blood streamed down Viserys's face, but he seemed not to feel the pain. He sat on the floor, motionless, his gaze on Daenerys filled with unparalleled malice.

A flash of heartache crossed Daenerys's eyes, but she did not choose to back down.

She fearlessly met Viserys's gaze. "If you want to smoothly receive the ten thousand soldiers from my hand to retake the Iron Throne, I do not wish for a next time."

Viserys scrambled to his feet, his voice filled with hatred. "You little whore. When I return to the kingdoms, you will definitely regret this."

With that, Viserys clutched his injured face and left.

...

Not long after Viserys left, Ser Jorah hurried over.

The large man looked Daenerys over with concern. "Princess, are you alright?"

Daenerys shook her head slightly. "Ser, did you see that Viserys was injured? I did that. I woke the sleeping dragon."

Ser Jorah had already confirmed that Daenerys was unharmed, and his expression relaxed somewhat.

He consoled her, "It is not your fault. Can you wake a man who is already dead?"

Daenerys looked at Ser Jorah, a confused expression on her face.

After a pause, Ser Jorah spoke, "Your eldest brother, Rhaegar Targaryen, was said to be the last of the true dragons, and he died on the banks of the Trident. Forgive my bluntness, but our King Viserys is not even the shadow of a snake."

Daenerys mumbled, "But… Viserys is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. He is the true King of the Seven Kingdoms."

Ser Jorah sighed. "Princess, even if King Viserys retakes the Iron Throne, do you truly think he can hold that position?"

Daenerys's face turned a little pale. "He won't be a good King, will he?"

Seeing Daenerys's color drain from her face, Ser Jorah hesitated for a moment, but still spoke frankly, "Your Highness, there have been worse kings than King Viserys, but not many."

Daenerys remembered that back in Pentos, Glyn had said something similar.

She asked, "Ser, are the people of Westeros secretly sewing true Dragon banners… praying for King Viserys to lead an army across the sea to save them soon?"

Ser Jorah replied, "Your Highness, the common folk pray for good harvests, healthy children, and a summer that never ends. As long as they can live in peace, they do not care how the kings and nobles play their game of thrones."

He added a final sentence. "...It's just that their wishes never come true."

...

...

After Ser Jorah left, Daenerys felt a little unsteady. Borona immediately supported her.

Daenerys said softly, "Thank you, Borona. I want to rest…"

Borona shook her head. "Princess Daenerys, I know a good place."

...

The full moon hung high in the sky.

Daenerys looked at the reed-covered lake, asking uncertainly, "Borona, is this the good place you mentioned?"

Borona nodded. "Yes..."

She then scratched her head and continued, "Your Highness, I think you need to relax. This is a great place for a swim."

Daenerys smiled gently. "Thank you, Borona."

Borona grinned, patting the longsword at her waist. "I'll be nearby. Don't worry."

...

On the silent night, moonlight spilled across the lake's surface, the water sparkling. The air seemed to be filled with an aura of tranquility.

On the shore, amidst the swaying green grass, Daenerys removed her clothes and placed them on the ground, then carefully stepped into the water.

Daenerys walked gently into the lake. She felt the soft mud squishing between her toes and the coolness of the lake water.

The water slowly enveloped her body. She swam in the lake, enjoying the serenity of the place.

The stars in the night sky twinkled, seemingly bathing along with her.

In that moment, Daenerys's spirit was at peace, and she temporarily forgot all her troubles.
