"That should be Itachi's transcribed sealing of Amaterasu in your eyes," Obito explained, watching Sasuke's surprised expression. He initially thought Sasuke was shocked by the appearance of Amaterasu, but didn't realize Sasuke was actually shocked because of why he hadn't died.
"What are you talking about...?" Sasuke began to show a puzzled expression, acting confused. As expected of an actor's younger brother, his acting was just as convincing as his brother's, with very realistic expressions.
"Itachi cast a deathly spell on you through the Sharingan, the setting is probably that as soon as you see the Sharingan, Amaterasu will activate," Obito patiently explained, thinking Sasuke truly didn't know.

"Mangekyō?!" Obito saw this and understood immediately—killing Itachi must have granted Sasuke the Mangekyō Sharingan. But his use of the three-tomoe genjutsu is ineffective against the stronger visual prowess of the Mangekyō Sharingan, unless Obito himself also awakens his Mangekyō.

"No need, Hokage-sama," Kaoru replied, standing up. "Since you're already retired, just stay out of it. The Akatsuki members we haven't retired yet can handle this."
"I guarantee that in less than half a moment, I'll drive those troublemakers out of Konoha," he said casually, then activated his Flying Thunder God Technique and vanished on the spot.
"Alright, it's all up to you now, Kaoru..." The Third Hokage muttered to himself as he watched Kaoru disappear.
Kaoru had already arrived in Konoha, looking at the smoke-filled village. He shook his head lightly: "Looks like it's probably Pain. Interesting—Pain dares to attack Konoha. How amusing."
"First, take out those Pain puppets," he thought, observing the swirling dust everywhere, and then he chose a random place to chase after them.
