Because he clearly remembered that this was exactly how the story originally unfolded.
Son Goku was still deep in thought. After a while, he still couldn't quite grasp what the power of the God Realm truly meant, so he once again proposed sparring with Gran.
"Hey, hey!"
Bulma couldn't stand it anymore and said helplessly, "Didn't you just exchange a move with Gran a moment ago? Do you really think you have any chance of winning?"
Beside her, Chi-Chi rolled her eyes at him.
"You couldn't even make Big Brother Gran take a single step back with your kick. Maybe you should just forget about it."
"Alright..."
Son Goku nodded awkwardly.
Seeing his slightly foolish expression, Gran couldn't help but smile. Getting along with Goku was always comfortable.
"Goku, you and Big Brother Gran keep chatting. I'll go make dinner for you all first."
Noticing that the sky was beginning to darken, Chi-Chi quickly placed little Son Gohan into Goku's arms before turning and walking into the house.
"I'll help too."
Bulma followed her inside.
Outside the house, only Goku, Gran, Whis, and Broly remained.
"Gran, the special delicacy you mentioned—was it made by this Lady Chi-Chi?" Whis asked curiously.
"That's right. We'll just wait and eat."
"I'm rather looking forward to it."
Whis licked his lips in anticipation.
After responding to Whis, Gran turned his gaze toward the baby in Goku's arms, pretending he knew nothing.
"Kakarot, is this your son?"
"Yes. His name is Son Gohan. He's two years old now."
Although Goku found it a little strange that Gran kept calling him Kakarot, when he was still young, Big Brother Gran had always called him that. So he didn't question it.
He simply handed the child in his arms to Gran.
Gran took little Gohan. Surprisingly, the child didn't cry at all. Soft and chubby, he even occasionally called him "Uncle Gran."
He was unbelievably adorable.
"Two years old, huh?"
Gran gently tapped Gohan's nose.
It was now Age 759. According to the normal storyline, Raditz would invade Earth in Age 761, when Gohan would be four years old.
In other words, Gohan's age still perfectly matched the original timeline.
"Whis, what do you think of him?" Gran said, handing Gohan to Whis.
Whis looked at the small child in his arms and froze for a moment.
"Why are you giving him to me—"
Before he could finish speaking, his expression suddenly turned serious.
Gran naturally noticed the change and couldn't help the slight smile forming on his lips.
This was the first Saiyan hybrid. His potential was obvious to the naked eye. There was no way Whis wouldn't notice.
"Gran, this little guy..."
Whis examined Gohan carefully, his eyes filled with surprise.
"What's wrong?"
"What do you mean what's wrong? This child hides a terrifying potential within him. That's the reason you brought me here, isn't it?"
"You guess."
"..."
Seeing Gran act as if he knew nothing, Whis's lips twitched.
"Back then I already said that as long as he exists, Earth would become a holy land of martial arts."
Whis raised his head slightly, looking toward the direction of the Heavenly Realm.
"I originally thought that after accumulating martial arts heritage for so long, Earth would eventually produce only a single martial arts master."
He paused.
"But I didn't expect…"
Whis returned little Gohan to Gran.
"I didn't expect that wouldn't be the case. It seems there's a chance for a second martial arts master to appear."
His tone carried a subtle meaning.
After all, Gohan's potential was visibly enormous. If he were carefully nurtured, his future achievements would certainly not be inferior to his father's.
For such a tiny planet like Earth to produce such an interesting father and son pair…
Whis couldn't help feeling emotional.
"Are the Saiyans really that terrifying?"
Whis shifted his gaze away from Gohan, glancing at Goku, then at Broly, and finally settling on Gran.
"What are you two talking about?"
Goku, standing nearby, couldn't understand a single word of their conversation.
"It's nothing. We were just saying your son has extremely high talent. If he's carefully trained, his future martial arts achievements definitely won't be low."
Gran teased the little Gohan in his arms.
"Potential?"
Goku's expression instantly turned serious. He leaned closer and gently patted Gohan's head.
"Actually, I sensed it a long time ago. There's a frightening potential hidden inside Gohan."
As he said that, a memory flashed through Goku's mind.
Not long ago, he and Chi-Chi had taken Gohan to play on a hillside. Gohan's rocking cart accidentally slid down the slope.
But instead of getting hurt—
Gohan smashed his head straight into a large tree and left a dent in the trunk.
"Since you've seen his potential too, will you train him properly?"
Gran handed Gohan back to Goku.
It was time to begin the real purpose of his visit.
"Big Brother Gran, of course I want to raise him into an outstanding martial artist. But Chi-Chi wants Gohan to become a scholar in the future."
Holding Gohan again, Goku sighed helplessly.
Gran shook his head slightly.
Sure enough… this situation was exactly the same as in the anime.
At that moment, Bulma walked out of the house.
"Gran, Mr. Whis—dinner is ready."
Hearing this, Whis's eyes immediately lit up. He quickly dragged Gran toward the house.
"?"
Goku stood there, confused.
He still didn't quite understand why Big Brother Gran had come here.
Wasn't he here to reminisce?
Or… was he just here to mooch a meal?
"Goku, why are you still standing there? Gran is the same race as you. If you don't come in soon, he'll eat all your food."
Bulma laughed while standing at the doorway.
"Big Brother Gran, wait for me!"
Back when Bulma took him to a food street, Goku had personally witnessed Gran's appetite.
It was exactly the same as his own.
If he returned a few minutes late, tonight's dinner might really disappear.
Thinking about it, Goku was startled. He immediately rushed toward the house with little Gohan in his arms.
"Pfft!"
Watching Goku's back, Bulma couldn't help laughing.
Even though he had already become a father, he was still just as silly as ever.
Shaking her head, she walked into the house as well.
Inside the house, after Whis took his seat, he looked at the food on the table and froze.
"You turned a creature like a dinosaur into cuisine?"
Whis frowned.
"Back then I once brought Beerus to eat something like this, but that culinary trip was… difficult to describe."
Gran picked up a piece of dinosaur meat and placed it in Whis's bowl with a smile.
"Earth's cuisine is different. You haven't even tasted it yet. Try it first."
"Alright. I'd like to see what makes this dinosaur meat so different."
Whis picked up the piece and put it into his mouth.
He chewed lightly.
Boom!
Fresh. Fragrant. Spicy.
An explosion of exquisite flavors struck Whis's taste buds like the opening of an entirely new world. His entire body seemed to radiate light.
"Gran, Mr. Whis seems to be having another… climax." Bulma whispered with a grin.
"Climax?"
Gran's mouth twitched.
But thinking about it, Bulma's description was actually quite accurate.
It seemed Chi-Chi's cooking really was delicious.
"In that case, I can eat without worry."
Gran muttered to himself before finally starting to enjoy tonight's dinner.
Hearing that, Broly and Bulma exchanged a glance, both widening their eyes.
So Lord Gran (Big Brother) actually didn't know how the food tasted either.
He made Whis try it first—
He was using Whis as a test subject!
