Chapter 316 - Chapter 316: Raditz — Can You Spare Kakarot?

"Pretend he was never here?"

Beerus stood rooted in place, his expression hollow.

"But can that really be undone?"

Whis walked over and gently patted Beerus on the shoulder, offering quiet comfort.

"Even I would like him to stay… but that little monster doesn't belong to this timeline. He was never meant to remain here for long."

"I know, but he…"

Beerus clenched his fists, then let out a heavy sigh.

"The me from that other timeline is truly blessed…"

Seeing that Beerus was still in low spirits, Whis suddenly thought of something.

"By the way, I recall that Quitela has never gotten along with you."

"What about it?"

"Gran mentioned that he killed Quitela in his timeline. Well? Feeling any better now?"

"What?!"

Beerus froze in shock—then burst into laughter, hands on his hips.

"Hahaha! My disciple Gran possesses Angel-tier power—how dare that damned rat provoke him?!"

Whis almost corrected him—Gran had nothing to do with this Beerus.

But after a moment's thought… even if they belonged to different timelines, the fact remained:

Gran was a disciple of Beerus and Whis.

So...

"Hmph! That stupid rat dared to provoke my disciple? He was asking for death!"

Whis curled his lips slightly, amused.

This small detour lifted Beerus's mood considerably.

With his hands clasped behind his back, he walked out of the God of Destruction's palace and asked:

"What else did that kid do while he was here? Tell me everything."

Whis followed at his side and recounted all of Gran's actions in this timeline.

"Hmm?"

Beerus stopped by a lakeside, frowning.

"There are still Saiyans on Earth?"

"Yes. Those two Saiyans are among the very few survivors left in our universe."

"A mere Saiyan… yet able to cultivate power to the second stage of the God Realm. Interesting."

Surprisingly, Beerus showed no anger upon hearing that Saiyans still existed.

Whis could tell—the reason was likely Gran.

"Lord Beerus, are you… interested in those two Saiyans?"

Beerus nodded.

"I always thought Saiyans were a barbaric, violent, and weak race. But I didn't expect them to produce geniuses like Gran… and that Son Gohan you mentioned."

"So… does that mean you're planning a trip to Earth?"

From Whis's tone, Beerus immediately sensed something off.

He turned his head and narrowed his eyes.

"Judging by your voice… you want to go too, don't you?"

"Oh ho ho~"

Whis covered his mouth as he chuckled.

"Before you awakened, Gran gave me a taste of what he called the most delicious food in the entire universe. The flavor… ah, simply unforgettable~"

The most delicious food in the universe?!

Beerus's eyes lit up instantly—then he scowled in outrage.

"Whis! You had something that good and didn't save any for me?!"

"Oh, now, now."

Whis had expected this reaction and quickly explained:

"Gran said such delicacies come from Earth. That's why I was hoping we might pay a visit."

"Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go!"

"Yes, yes."

A streak of radiant, seven-colored light shot up from the Realm of Destruction and vanished into the sky.

The future timeline returned to its usual calm.

And yet—

Something had changed.

Gran's arrival had altered Earth's fate…

and Beerus's fate as well.

This timeline, once stagnant, was now slowly coming back to life.

Gran's Timeline

In the vast expanse of the North Galaxy, a spacecraft streaked across the stars.

It had been traveling for over a year.

In another half year, it would reach its destination.

Inside the ship.

Three figures sat within the main cockpit.

They were none other than Vegeta's squad.

A year ago, Vegeta had led his Saiyan team in a confident assault on Frieza's headquarters.

But Frieza had been hiding his true strength.

The result—

Total defeat.

Now, of that original squad, only three remained.

From Raditz, Vegeta had learned of Bardock's prophecy—that one day, Son Goku would become a Super Saiyan.

Without hesitation, Vegeta set course for Earth, determined to uncover the secret of that transformation.

"Half a year more until we reach Earth…"

"Kakarot… don't disappoint me."

Vegeta stood with arms crossed, muttering under his breath.

At the side, Raditz hesitated before speaking cautiously:

"Vegeta… can I ask you something?"

"Speak."

Vegeta's voice was cold.

Summoning his courage, Raditz said:

"That prophecy… it's only something my father said. I don't even know if Kakarot can really become a Super Saiyan."

"If he can't… can you not take it out on him?"

Nappa's eyelid twitched.

Raditz… pleading for his younger brother?

"Raditz, do you even realize what you're saying?" Vegeta asked, surprised.

Raditz fell silent for a moment, then sighed.

"I know exactly what I'm saying. If this were before… I'd never say something like this."

"But things are different now."

"Our Saiyan race… is almost completely extinct."

"And…"

Raditz turned his head to look at Vegeta.

"After everything we've been through—Saiyans killing each other, abandoning one another…"

"Is that really what a proud warrior race should be?"

"You're asking to die—"

Vegeta's veins bulged across his forehead as anger surged.

Raditz's words had struck directly at his own past—abandoning Gran, abandoning others.

Nappa broke out in a cold sweat.

He never imagined Raditz would dare go this far.

Wasn't he afraid Vegeta would kill him on the spot?

And yet—

The furious Vegeta suddenly fell silent.

There was no sign that he intended to kill Raditz at all.

"…What?"

Shock exploded in Nappa's mind.

Was this really the same proud Prince Vegeta?

His gaze shifted back and forth between the two.

They had both changed.

But then again…

Hadn't he changed as well?

Nappa turned to stare out at the endless starry sky.

When had this transformation begun?

…Perhaps it started the moment they encountered Gran again.

Super Saiyan Gran.

Candidate God of Destruction Gran.

Lord Gran…

If only we could meet you again…
