The room went silent. Until—
"What?!" Lulu finally shouted. "What are you talking about, Mother? The Spirit of the Forest? Y-You're joking, right?"
Leona shook her head. "No, no, really."
She seemed almost offended that they doubted her as she said,
"The Spirit of the Forest...she really gave me children."
They stared at her in disbelief and realising that she needed to tell a few more facts before they thought of her as crazy, Leona explained.
"About six months after everything started going wrong—when Julius began his scheme and I was completely isolated—the Spirit of the Forest appeared to me."
She started with a wistful look in her eyes, while everyone carefully listened.
"She saw how alone I was, how sad and depressed I'd become. She came to me in a dream and told me that my future was going to be very lonely."
"That I needed something to drive me, something to make me wake up every day without completely giving in."
Her voice grew soft.
