'First, I get murdered by some dumbfuck because I couldn't control my emotions like a manchild, and then I wake up as guess what an actual baby. The irony's just… yeah, perfect. Just perfect.'
'Then I find out I've been dumped into some horror story world full of racist assholes. Like, seriously? Out of all the places in the universe, it had to be this one.'
Adrian clenched his tiny fist. 'This time, I'm surviving. Step one, get the hell away from Kayde. Step two… I'll figure it out later.'
Days kinda blurred together after that. Adrian kept practicing his act, blank stare and all. He even nailed the drooling part it wad disgusting, yeah, but it worked.
By the time he hit the grand old age of three, they finally decided he was allowed outside his room.
'Finally, outside. I'd be happy just to see a tree or, I dunno, a bug. Anything. I swear, I'm gonna lose my damn mind if I stay locked up any longer.'
Then his brain just… stopped. Like, actually froze. Nine giant suns hung in the sky. Nine. He just stood there, staring up like an idiot, trying to process what he was even looking at.
And the crazy thing? It wasn't even hot. The air felt nice and warm kinda like a spring day back on Earth.
Adrian felt panic start to crawl up his throat. He'd always thought of himself as the logical type, y'know? Everything's got an explanation, that kinda guy. But this? Nah. This made zero sense. His brain was officially done trying to keep up.
Years passed,Adrian finally understood what was going on.This was Aethros,the land humanity reigned supreme.It was also the greatest realm in Aeon reach.
Aethros was once home to many races, they lived in relative peace, that was untill the rise of Emperor of Mankind.He crushed the powerfully races and made them slaves and toys in his Empire.
Every city, was filled hymns praising his name.
" Glory to the Prime originator"
" Hail to the Eternal Sovereign"
"Praise the Slayer of gods and conqueror of worlds"
To the people of Aethros, he was their god.His image adorned every temple and home.
Adrian was taken to a place called church of light. And for years his life was filled with reciting hymns and reading about legends of the Emperor.
Every corner of the church was filled hollagrams of the Emperor saying.
" Iam the immortal will of humanity,destroyer of worlds and silence of gods."
To Adrian who was an adult in mind this was brain washing. He pretended to be a fanatic like the rest but always looked ways to escape that crazy place but it was guarded by ascendants.
The first thing he noticed in this new life was that he lacked ears.He found that he only had earholes, but he could hear perfectly.
The second was the unusual amount of respect he got inside the church.
When he was eight, he truly saw what ascendants could do. A holagram showed one man descend from the sky like god to a huge city .He was wearing the Empire military uniform.
He pushed the air above the city and boom. Huge city beyond any he ever saw was destroyed living a huge crater.
Adrian had one ascendant personally follow him every where so he had no hope of escape.
In the church they fed him elixir for food.Gave him clothes that felt like clouds.And even the ascendant acted like servant to him.
But he knew everything had price and he knew one day he would pay.
On his sixteenth birthday was payment day.He woke up like normal maids began washing him and cleaning like alway.
He drank a few glowing elixirs that made him especially comfortable.
The ascendant, a stoic man with a moustache and soldier uniform said," sir, follow today is a special day.You will celebrate your sixteenth birthday day."
Puzzled Adrian said with nod ," where are we going Sebastian?"
Sebastian face changed to a cold smirk,"What with all the questions you rat.Iam tired of this charade."
Adrian was not shocked, he knew the so called church had nefarious plans for him. He just didn't know how bad there intention were.
Adrian knew he could not resist an ascendant but he still threw a punch but before the punch could connect his vision darkened.
Sebastian who knocked him said with disdain," a mortal trying to attack ascendant. Adrian you are one special boy"
Suddenly the void cracked open and green pendant appeared above Adrian's head. With a low hum everyone in the chamber turned to dust and it dissappeared.
