I tried.
I really did.
"Leonhart, if you think I'm just going to stand here and..."
A sharp, guttural sound cut me off.
A grunt.
Raw.
Painful.
My head snapped back to the screen before I could stop myself.
Uriel...
"…!"
Gabriel's spear had pierced straight through his abdomen.
Not shallow.
Not a graze.
Straight through.
For a split second, my breath hitched.
"Uriel!"
I instinctively ran closer towards Leonhart, but managed to stop myself just safe enough to block if he starts doing some underhanded tricks.
But Uriel didn't fall.
Didn't even scream.
His hands...
Were gripping the spear.
Tightly.
Stopping it from pushing any deeper.
"…Still so weak," Gabriel scoffed, his voice dripping with disappointment as he leaned in slightly. "Even after being purified, this is all you amount to?"
Uriel didn't answer.
Didn't argue.
Didn't react the way Gabriel probably expected.
He just… stayed there.
Breathing.
Heavy.
Controlled.
