The long afternoon lecture finally drew to a close, much to Noah's immense relief.
The class had dragged on for three full hours, and just like before, the professor handling their Monday session was Michael Vane.
The structure of the lecture followed the exact same pattern as the previous week, with Professor Vane directing a barrage of different questions almost exclusively toward Noah.
It was an intense academic grilling, but that was not what truly bothered Noah throughout the afternoon.
One particular detail had stood out to him during the entire three hours.
Most of the time, Michael Vane's eyes seemed to be fixed entirely on him. It happened so frequently that every single time Noah raised his head up from the notebook where he was busy jotting down his lecture notes to look toward the podium, their eyes would instantly meet in midair.
