On a deserted island.
Ochoku and his men, including Caribou and Coribou, had taken refuge. When he saw the newspaper, he flew into a rage.
"DAMMIT... KAIDO! JIN!" he roared, tearing the paper to shreds.
He was furious. It was a disaster that had come out of nowhere. No... he suspected that Kaido and Jin had set him up.
"What do we do now?" Caribou asked, his tongue lolling out, looking just like a younger version of Ochoku.
Ochoku's cunning eyes narrowed. "With Zephyr and Jin there, taking back Hachinosu will be too difficult. We're going to Paradise."
With their strength, they could easily take over an island in the first half of the Grand Line and live like kings...
—————————
And so, the battle was over.
The various powers of the world had watched for nothing.
Those who had been hoping that Jin and Kaido would destroy each other, so they could pick up the pieces, sighed in disappointment.
Only those with no stake in the outcome had been entertained.
And Ochoku... he was the biggest joke of all.

Hachinosu Island.
Jin finalized the details of his cooperation with Zephyr and dealt with the intelligence agents who had come sniffing around.
Then, he transformed into lightning and shot into the sky. Under the cover of the clouds, he activated his "teleport" function and returned to the town near the G-5 base.
After he and Kaido had left, Gion had led the Marines and Tashigi's forces in repelling the Beasts Pirates.
The battle between Jin and Kaido had been so spectacular that it had drawn the world's attention, overshadowing the incidents at G-5 and Dressrosa.
Especially Dressrosa. There had been no reports about it at all. It was as if nothing had happened.
But from what Law had told him on his return, Jin had a general idea of what had gone down.
The people of Dressrosa, led by King Riku, had attempted to overthrow Doflamingo's rule, but they had been brutally crushed by his officers.
Compared to Doflamingo's unified forces, the citizens, who had just been turned back from toys, had nothing but righteous fury on their side.
It had all happened so suddenly. No one was prepared.
And among the former toys, there were many pirates. Some had fled. Others had taken the opportunity to loot and pillage, creating even more chaos. Not everyone was willing to fight for King Riku.
With Luffy, it had been different. Doflamingo had foolishly trapped everyone in his Birdcage, turning even those who weren't his enemies against him.
That night, a chaotic and confusing battle had been fought.
Law had intended to take the opportunity to withdraw, but when he learned that Doflamingo was returning, his conscience had gotten the better of him, and he had gone to warn King Riku.
But King Riku, unwilling to miss his chance, had refused to leave.
However, he had entrusted his daughter and granddaughter to the army commander, Tank Lepanto, and had begged Law to take them to safety.
King Riku had two daughters. One was Scarlett, who had secretly married Kyros and had a daughter, Rebecca. She had died from her injuries during the chaos. The other was Viola, who had been forced to join the Donquixote Family under the name "Violet" and had become Doflamingo's lover.
If it had been Luffy, he would have been moved to tears and would have joined King Riku in his charge against Doflamingo.
But Law was a rational man.
He knew his primary mission. He took Sugar, Viola, and the others and left Dressrosa.
King Riku and Kyros had stayed behind to organize the resistance, buying time for Law and the others to escape.
With no news for so long, it was likely they had failed.
Against Doflamingo, they stood no chance.
Jin, through Gion, had gotten intelligence from Vice Admiral Tsuru.
After Doflamingo had returned, he had quickly suppressed the uprising.
Though King Riku was a valuable hostage, he had been rescued by Kyros and the other resistance fighters, and they had retreated to a deserted island to the north.
And King Riku wasn't a fool. He had contacted several other kings of member nations who he knew from the past and had told them the truth.
They had jointly submitted a petition to the Five Elders, hoping the World Government would intervene and stop Doflamingo's tyranny.
It was a scandal. A massive scandal.
The Five Elders knew what Doflamingo had been up to, but he was supposed to have kept it under wraps. And now, it was all out in the open. It stank to high heaven. How could they possibly help him now?
Fortunately, the battle between Jin and Kaido was the hot topic of the day. The Five Elders acted quickly, putting pressure on Doflamingo, demanding that he resolve the situation immediately, or they would strip him of his titles as a Warlord and a king.
Without Sugar, Doflamingo couldn't control people's minds. Faced with the Five Elders' ultimatum, he had no choice but to yield.
He had negotiated with King Riku, proposing that if Riku recognized his legitimacy as king, he would not hold the rebels responsible.
Otherwise, he would kill everyone.
After much consideration, King Riku had compromised.
He had demanded that Doflamingo allow those who were unwilling to live under his rule to be sent to Green Bit, the small island to the north.
Doflamingo had agreed.
He was more concerned with mitigating the fallout of the incident than with the loss of a few citizens.
And so, Dressrosa was now in a state of two coexisting governments.
Viola and Rebecca had been overjoyed when they heard the news and had wanted to return, but they had been stopped by Kyros, who had come with a message from King Riku.
King Riku believed that this was just a stalling tactic on Doflamingo's part. He wanted them to take refuge in the Winter Blossom Kingdom for the time being.
King Riku had been keeping a close eye on world affairs. He knew about Mahabass's death, and he knew that Doflamingo had suffered a major defeat at Jin's hands.
Now, only Jin was capable of making Doflamingo hesitate, of keeping him in check. They would be safe there.
And with them safe, King Riku and Kyros could focus on dealing with Doflamingo.
Jin had readily agreed.
Not because of Viola and Rebecca's beauty, but because with them, he could become more deeply involved.
Dressrosa, one of the original twenty kingdoms, was rich in resources and strategically located. It was a prize worth fighting for.
Viola and Rebecca were a key piece of the puzzle.
Jin arranged for Law to secretly escort them to Drum Island. He also contacted Jinbe on Fish-Man Island for assistance, to ensure their safety.
With the whole incident wrapped up and everything more or less settled, Jin began to tally his gains from this whole affair.
