"Look ahead " Iris told Adonis who was lost in thoughts at the sight of all the damage caused by the quake. The primerean bridge had fallen in half and they were casualties but if not for the great witches and wizards lives would have been lost. The more time passed, the more wider the cracks became and getting to the palace seemed like forever.
At last they got there, flew across the walls leading to the garden before landing on the evergreen grasses, grasses whose beauty has been marred by cracks.
"Gregor!!!" Adonis called.
"Gregor!!!" he called again, pacing every direction as he screamed his name.
"Gregor!!!" The sound doubled as Iris helped him shout.
After several screams, Adonis sat in disappointment playing with a stone.
"I'm a fool to believe all that, wasn't I?" he asked no one in particular, feeling down about himself.
"No you aren't!" Gregor's voice echoed as he came into view. It was almost dusk and Gregor's sudden appearance was followed by Kingston's presence which was administered by neither the old man nor the naive young boys, he wanted to take actions but instead sent back his broom to Ryle and the rest after enchanting it with whispered spells.
"Young warlocks, you must do what needs to be done before it is too late" Gregor started.
"You know what we came here for, don't you?" Adonis said as Iris was shocked at the sight of their suppose to be dead granduncle who once tore their family to shreds. The reason they never avoided the palace.
"The world under is fading and once it dies, the world above fades. If Carnatia sieze to exist, then so does Primera. There have always been two sides to everything — plants, the shoots and the roots. If the root gets destroyed, then follows suit is the shoot. First the lands will quake, then time stops and your dear ones begin to become nothing but memories ... but you have what it takes to save Primera. Our worlds are wavering, unstable and at the brink of oblivion, and only you both can save us all " Gregor said, raising his head with hope sparkling in his eyes.
"How do we start?" Adonis asked
"the book will tell you, but first you have to get to the blood realm, that's where we once called Carnatia. I've tried to restore it before, but I took the other way round and if someone doesn't save it now, Primera will be gone forever. We will all gone" the old man said, His voice shaking.
"Don't believe him!" Iris shouted "He just wants us to get his staff for him so he would raise another witch army and complete his mediocre magic ritual... he's using you Adonis, open your eyes!"
"The staff is the last object that can get you there, you need to find …"
He got interrupted by a voice in the sky "Get away from my kids!" Sapphire said as she flew towards the ground and with her were Kyle, Stephen and Ryle. Kingston then revealed himself "Took you guys long enough."
" We came as soon as we could" Ryle assured Kingston by patting his shoulder and giving him a stressed look.
Adonis appeared shocked "You told them!" he asked Iris in a panicked and tensed tone.
"No!!!" Iris denied as he waved his hand as if to wipe the claim away from him before he turned and pointed at Kingston "Uncle Kingston. He has been stalking" Iris said, "but at least that's good, we're safe from the deceiving trickster." Iris added in relief as he took his backward steps to his aunt, uncles, and father but Adonis stayed still lost between decisions.
"What have you done to him, you've brainwashed my son, haven't you?" Sapphire yelled with rage.
"Adonis, come to father " Ryle said, gesturing for Adonis to come to him, but Adonis stood still not moving a muscle.
"I am only here for the goodness of all " Gregor said.
"For the goodness of all," Kyle repeated, anger boiling in their blood as he spat in sheer disgust, simultaneously they brought out their wands pointing it at Gregor, who spread his arms; wide and open, he raised his head, facing the already dark and chaotic sky.
"The atonement of sin is death, salvation is all I seek " he declared.
Kyle and Saphire didn't spare him a ear, their wands sparked with beams of light, the magic was strong enough to shake the land, but before they could blast Gregor, Adonis turned to face his family, he brought out his wand, and a beam of light arose. As sparks generated around the beam of light, he retaliated Kyle and Saphire's blast.
The beams were strong, one couldn't overpower the other at first. A normal wand beholded by great witches versus a powerful wand being wielded by an amateur who knows not the extent of the power he possessed.
As beams fluctuated and grips faultered the sparks kept in growing, keeping everyone shocked and confused.
"Get out of the way" Saphire told her son.
"Mom!!! Dad!!! Uncles!!!" he speaks nothing but the truth " Adonis yelled amidst the ruckus, he was standing his ground but they weren't having any of it.
Iris saw the look in his cousin's eyes. It was that of pure honesty, so he tried to reason with his father; Stephen but got shunned, he was scared and confused, he didn't know what to do again. He looked around not making sense of it all. Yesterday was just perfect and today ... today was found on the farthest edge to perfection but then his gaze moved with the speed of a stallion, lingering on Kingston "Stop it you all!!!" Kingston screamed as his eyes flashed gold with gold sparks of energy all around him, the energy extended and engulfed everyone, blasting them to the ground. Kyle, Saphire, Ryle, Stephen and Gregor were knocked unconscious. Adonis got up wondering why his uncle did that. Iris just stared becoming even more confused.
"Get up," Kingston commanded. He walked to Saphire, picked up her wand, and he gave it to Adonis. "You have to take it, you will use it to get to where Gregor's staff is hidden, and save Primerea at all cost."
Kingston didn't have time to reason anything with the naive witchlings, he grabbed the boys and dragged them to the middle of the garden, he bends down to clear the grasses on a spot which revealed an opening that looked like a keylock but its key fitting was a wand.
"You know what to do" Kingston said. Adonis keyyed the wand into the lock and a great white beam generated, lightning and lengthening up the sky as a narrow hole opened down below.
They looked at each other reassuringly, held hands and jumped down the hole whose light vanished after forth.
"Make it back kids ... Alive" Kingston prayed to himself as he watched the kids go, he then turned and looked at the ruins all around. It took all in him not to walk up to the unconsciously lying old man and strangle him to death. He sighed in frustration and fatigue as he sat on the cold grass, watching his unconscious family member while waiting ... no, while praying for the boys to return, hopefully.
