After spending the entire afternoon mowing the grass on the school's football field, Jimmy stops by the old man's house, only to not find him there, so he returns to his room, where he spends the rest of the night working on his comic.
Then, the days pass without many problems, and Jimmy once again finds himself diving headfirst into a routine.
The progress on his comic continued moving along smoothly, even faster than he had expected.
I mean, the estimated completion of the manuscript was still two months, but Jimmy did not doubt that he could end up finishing it before the end of October.
Now, speaking of his relationship with Mandy, well, let's say that training together ended up bringing them very close; Jimmy could say for sure that she is now a very close friend, someone he could trust.
You may be doubtful, but the fact is that Mandy changed a lot since she started hanging out with Jimmy and his friends; she no longer complained about almost anything, began to dedicate herself to her studies, and overall, she became a reliable person and much easier to get along with.
Another thing that visibly changed in Mandy was her body, which, thanks to eating properly and training every day with Jimmy, went through a growth spurt that basically turned her into a supermodel in the making, a bombshell brunette with a face that closely resembled a 15/17-year-old Billie Eilish.
She was taller, her thighs got thicker, her butt got bigger, her hips wider, her waistline remained as slim as before, her breasts grew as well, and combined with all that, her muscles reached a noticeable level of definition.
At some point, it became evident to both Mandy and Jimmy that they were developing feelings for each other.
However, neither of them had crossed the line yet; Mandy was dating, and despite not having talked to Ted in a long time and their relationship never having been good to begin with, she was not the kind of girl who cheated; that kiss in the parking lot was a mistake she regretted.
Jimmy, on the other hand, didn't want to influence her thinking, so in the end, she would be the one who would have to take the step for both of them; until that happened, the two would remain friends.
One important thing to point out is that Christy, upon noticing how close the two were getting, stopped the whole friends-with-benefits thing she had with Jimmy.
But don't be mistaken, she continues to be very good friends with both of them; it's just that this choice was made because she knows very well what would result from that 'closeness' between the two and doesn't want to get in the way.
She didn't have that kind of feeling for Jimmy; their relationship was more for pleasure than anything else, so for her, it didn't make sense to interfere in a possible relationship that could arise between the two.
Returning to talk about Mandy, she got Jimmy a mini fridge and a microwave, which were now perfectly installed in his room.
So, as previously agreed, she started preparing meals that would last the entire week for him, while the mini fridge and microwave in his room did the job of storing and heating his meals.
Still talking about Mandy, while they rested after each training session, she began showing interest in skateboarding after seeing Jimmy doing it in front of her.
So, as soon as he found out about it, Jimmy started teaching her, and she picked it up relatively quickly; she was already able to land Ollies and Kickflips.
Now, putting Mandy aside for a bit and returning to talk about Jimmy, we have to mention his physical changes.
Thanks to his new diet and dedication to exercise, his muscles grew a bit more and became much more defined.
He was on his way to having a body comparable to a superhero like Spider-Man. Big, but not exaggerated, and most importantly, extremely defined.
His growth spurt, meanwhile, continued working at full speed; he was now already a head taller than Mandy, and it didn't seem like it would end anytime soon.
And finally, on a smaller note, his reddish-brown hair had grown enough to be a little voluminous, his slightly wavy strands giving him a perfectly messy hairstyle.
He even wanted to stop by a barbershop to trim the sides, maybe get a fade.
Now, speaking briefly about old man Peter, there were days when he simply disappeared, doing who knows what, but most of the time he was there to continue Jimmy's training, which was progressing at an insane speed, by the way.
In short, that's it; as I said before, time passed, and in the blink of an eye, we are at the end of the penultimate week of September, it was the 24th, the last Saturday of the month.
That was the day Melvin scheduled the first session of his G&G campaign; the place where this adventure would take place was the school observatory, the Nerds' territory.
All eight players gathered early in the morning around a large, solid wood table; all of them had their character sheets with them, and Melvin, the DM of this campaign, already had everything organized behind his screen; all that was left was to put an end to the idle chatter happening around him.
"I still can't believe you managed to get prettier than you already were! What's the secret?", Christy, in casual clothes, comments to the girls around her, impressed by how much prettier Mandy had become in less than a month.
"Well, I started eating well and training with Jimmy! Other than that, I didn't do anything special", Mandy replies, slightly embarrassed; she was wearing a black skirt at thigh length, long white socks, a pair of stylish sneakers, and an oversized white T-shirt with a small design printed on the chest.
Dressed casually, Beatrice suddenly says, speculating thoughtfully, "If you stop to think about it, Jimmy used to look like a short, charming gangster; now he looks like a heartthrob with violent eyes who just stepped out of a magazine cover! That's an even bigger transformation than Mandy's; there has to be some secret, right? Maybe it's some experimental drug."
Mandy's change in behavior ended up changing the way Beatrice saw her, which is why she seems so at ease next to the person who, until a month ago, was her tormentor and nemesis.
"I'm sure I haven't taken any drugs", Mandy defends herself. Jimmy never offered her any medicine.
Also dressed in casual clothes, Angie says, thinking logically, "Guys, I don't think it's anything that far-fetched; it's probably just the genetics of the two of them doing their job."
Upon hearing Angie, Beatrice says after thinking for a few seconds, agreeing with what was said, "Yeah, that makes a lot more sense, considering you two are taking care of your body and everything else."
"Wait, does that mean my genetics are good, right?", Mandy asks, unsure; Biology wasn't exactly her favorite subject.
Looking at Mandy in surprise, Christy says sarcastically, not believing that she really had doubts about it, "Damn, if your genetics are bad, then I'm a hardcover notebook."
Blushing a little upon realizing she had said something dumb, Mandy scolds her friend, complimenting her in the process: "Stop talking shit, Christy! You're super pretty too."
