The woods outside Konoha.
Karin looked at Yakumo, who was radiating a cold, dangerous aura. She felt uneasy in her heart.
"Yakumo, what's wrong with you? Calm down!" Karin didn't dare get too close.
Yakumo like this was completely different from her usual self.
"Impossible! How could my Crystal Release be broken? How did you do it?!" Guren, who was still bound by the Adamantine Sealing Chains, widened her eyes in disbelief.
"It's Ido! Ido is out!" Kurama Unkai said in horror. "I thought Yakumo was cured and that Ido was gone, but she's here again!"
Few knew the truth about Ido. Unkai was one of those few.
"What is Ido?" Guren frowned. This was the first time her Crystal Release had ever been broken by force.
Karin's memory clicked after Unkai's reminder.
She quickly sent the situation into the [Harem Chat Group], asking if Yakumo's condition could cause serious problems.
Everyone else was too busy to respond. Only Tsunade found a moment to reply:
[Tsunade: Don't panic. Itsuki placed a seal inside Yakumo. As long as you can calm her emotions, there won't be a problem.]
Karin sighed in relief. She released the chains binding Guren and instead aimed them toward Yakumo.
If she could suppress Yakumo's chakra with the Adamantine Sealing Chains, maybe she could calm her down.
But the next moment, Yakumo's body vanished. Even Karin's Kagura's Mind Eye couldn't sense her.
Immediately, the scenery around them warped. The sky turned dark and hazy, shrouded in a gray mist.
"Hehehe…"
A cold, strange laugh echoed from nowhere. Everyone shuddered at the sound.
"Oh no! This is an illusion world. Yakumo has seized control of our five senses. Everyone, stay alert!" Unkai's expression shifted, and he signaled his clansmen to gather.
"Hmph. Just an illusion…" Guren scoffed.
Though wounded, she had restored her chakra after being freed from the chains.
Crystal Release was her pride, a bloodline limit coveted even by Orochimaru.
"Crystal Release: Crystal Dragon Jutsu!"
With rapid seals, she summoned a massive crystalline dragon.
Mounting it, she touched her stomach wound and quickly sealed it with crystal. The bleeding stopped instantly.
This time, she wasn't holding back. Against illusions or not, her ultimate move would smash through.
"It's useless!" Unkai warned. "In this space, all five senses are under Yakumo's control. Sight, sound, even touch—you'll never hit her. Worse yet, it isn't Yakumo herself in control. It's Ido!"
Ido was Yakumo's inner demon, the embodiment of her darkest emotions.
Under Ido's illusion, there would be no mercy—only killing intent.
"…So what exactly is Ido?" Guren demanded, now uneasy despite herself.
But before Unkai could answer, the scene shifted again. The forest disappeared, replaced by a rough, starry sky.
It resembled the illusion Itsuki once showed Yakumo, but far dimmer and twisted, the stars faint and ugly.
The ground was gone. Everyone floated in the air—unable to fall, but unable to move forward either.
"Hehehe…" That eerie laugh came again, burrowing under their skin.
Guren snapped and hurled the crystal dragon forward, but it vanished like smoke. Her attack landed nowhere.
"Don't waste chakra," Unkai warned. "In here, it's all Yakumo's rules."
"Then how the hell do we break it?" Guren growled. She had already tried standard genjutsu release methods, but they failed completely.
"Ahhhh! Help me!"
One of the Kurama clan members suddenly plummeted through the void.
His body streaked across the starry sky like a meteor, his screams echoing until he disappeared.
Panic spread instantly.
They wanted to save him, but they couldn't even save themselves.
Unkai's face turned grim. "This is Yakumo's ability. If you die in the illusion, you die in reality. And because she controls our senses, our movements might betray us no matter what we intend. Once you're trapped here, there's no way to break free unless Yakumo herself lets go."
As if to prove his words, two more Kurama clan members vanished like meteors, their bodies burning until not even ash remained.
"Yakumo, please! We were wrong! Let us go!"
"We shouldn't have forced you. We'll never bother you again if you stop this!"
"Yakumo, we're your family! Don't kill us!"
The remaining Kurama were broken, their fear overwhelming. They begged desperately for their lives.
If there had been solid ground, they would've been on their knees, bowing their heads against it.
"Damn it!" Guren flung crystal shuriken in all directions, but they disappeared like stones thrown into the ocean.
Her arrogance cracked. She finally realized that earlier, she had only subdued Yakumo by relying on a sneak attack.
Now that Yakumo—or rather, Ido—was fully unleashed, she had no chance.
Crystal Release meant nothing here. Against someone who could manipulate every sense, her attacks were worthless.
"It's over… It's all over…" Unkai muttered bitterly. Their lives now hung on Yakumo's whim.
Worse, since it was Ido controlling her, there was no reasoning, no emotional appeal that could work.
"Yakumo! Stop! Calm down!" Karin shouted, her voice echoing through the void.
She didn't care about the Kurama clan. But she couldn't let Yakumo be consumed by hatred—nor did she want to die here.
"Think about Itsuki! Think about Lady Tsunade! Think about us—we're all with you. You're not alone. Don't let hatred blind you!"
She spread her Kagura's Mind Eye to its limit, but still couldn't locate Yakumo's chakra.
"…Itsuki…" Yakumo's whisper floated in the air.
Her heart stirred at his name, though she ignored every other plea.
"That's right! Itsuki!" Karin shouted louder.
"You don't want to disappoint him, do you? Don't you still have things you want to do with him? If you give in to Ido, you'll lose that chance! This isn't the Yakumo that Itsuki wants to see!"
"Itsuki… Itsuki… Ahhhhhh!!" Yakumo screamed. The world fractured.
The false starry sky shattered, and suddenly, they were back in the forest outside Konoha.
Yakumo knelt in the same spot as before, clutching her head with both hands.
Her face was pale, her breaths ragged, her body trembling.
"Yakumo!" Karin rushed over, relief flooding her.
She placed her hands over Yakumo and immediately activated the Mystical Palm Technique, pouring healing chakra into her exhausted friend.
