Chapter 170 - Chapter 169: You’re Xinxia’s Boyfriend, Right?

"You, Ye Xinxia—Bing Gongzi treated you so well, and yet you're here flirting with another pretty boy!"

Three girls standing not far away walked over, glaring at Song Jie and Xinxia with open hostility.

Song Jie was still gently wiping away Xinxia's tears, but upon hearing those words, he slowly stood up.

He looked at them calmly and said, "That Bing Gongzi might not be able to get out of bed for a few days. Do you want to try it too?"

"What nonsense are you talking about! Our Bing Gongzi isn't someone you can insult!" one of the girls snapped angrily, stepping forward.

Song Jie sighed softly and shook his head. "Your mouths are so foul. You should go wash them in the lake."

As soon as he finished speaking, a golden light shield appeared around the three girls.

Before they could react, the shimmering barrier lifted them up and floated toward the surface of the lake.

"What are you doing?! Put us down!"

The three of them frantically pounded on the light shield, but it didn't budge.

Song Jie's eyes glinted with amusement. "You want to come down? Fine. I'll fulfill your request."

With a wave of his hand, the golden barrier vanished, and the three girls plunged straight into the water.

"Ahhh!"

"I can't swim—help me!"

"Help!"

Their earlier arrogance was gone, replaced by panic and frantic splashing as they struggled to stay afloat.

"Song Jie, save them quickly," Ye Xinxia said anxiously. She knew he was only standing up for her, but she didn't want him to cause trouble for himself.

"Alright," Song Jie replied. He waved his hand again, and another golden light shield appeared, pulling the drenched girls back to the surface.

The three of them coughed violently, gasping for air.

Song Jie looked at them coldly. "Apologize now, or I'll let you continue your bath."

By now, a crowd of students had gathered around the lakeside. The three girls, completely humiliated and outmatched, quickly gave in.

"We were wrong!"

"We know we were wrong!"

"Please, just don't throw us back in!"

Satisfied, Song Jie sent them back to the shore. The moment they touched solid ground, the three scrambled away in embarrassment.

Two graceful figures then approached from behind Xinxia.

"Xinxia, is this your boyfriend?" one of her roommates asked teasingly.

"No…" Xinxia quickly shook her head, her flushed cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red.

The other girl giggled. "Still denying it? Look at how red your face is!"

Song Jie, who was right beside them, couldn't help but chuckle. "Are these two your friends, Xinxia?"

The girl with a ponytail stepped forward confidently.

"We're Xinxia's roommates. So you're her boyfriend, huh? Some boyfriend you are—Xinxia gets talked about at school all the time, and you're only showing up now!"

"Jing Jing…" Xinxia started, but her friend cut her off.

"Xinxia, you're too kind. Don't defend him."

Song Jie smiled slightly. "You're right to scold me. I haven't done enough to protect Xinxia."

Xinxia blinked in surprise, lowering her head shyly.

The ponytail girl nodded approvingly. "At least you admit it. You'd better treat her well from now on, or we'll come after you ourselves." She clenched her fists for emphasis.

"I'll definitely treat Xinxia well," Song Jie said sincerely.

"Good," the girl replied with a satisfied grin. "Then we won't disturb your date."

As the two girls started to leave, Jing Jing suddenly turned back. "Remember to send Xinxia back to her dorm tonight. And Xinxia—you'd better not stay out with him overnight."

Then, as if offering sisterly advice, she leaned in close to Xinxia and whispered, "And remember this—what a man wants, you must never give him easily! Otherwise, he won't cherish you!"

Xinxia's face turned scarlet in an instant.

"Alright, that's enough!" her roommate groaned, dragging Jing Jing away before she could embarrass her further.

Song Jie chuckled. "Your roommate's quite the character."

"Mm…" Xinxia murmured, her ears burning red.

Song Jie came up behind her and began pushing her wheelchair. "Let's go, my girlfriend Xinxia. I'll take you for a stroll."

Xinxia's blush deepened. She couldn't even lift her head from the embarrassment.

By the time they finished dinner, it was already evening.

Song Jie wheeled Xinxia back to her dormitory building.

"We're here, my girlfriend Xinxia," he teased again.

Xinxia turned her wheelchair around, trying to hide her flustered expression. "Thank you for today."

"What's there to thank?" Song Jie smiled. "Mo Fan's my brother. He asked me to take care of you, and I'll always do it without hesitation."

Xinxia nodded gently.

Just as she was about to head inside, two familiar voices suddenly called out.

"You two are ending it like this?"

Xinxia nearly jumped out of her seat. Her roommates popped out from behind a tree, grinning mischievously.

"I didn't even get to see a kiss scene," Jing Jing said, pouting. "How disappointing."

"Jing Jing! What nonsense are you talking about?!" Xinxia exclaimed, her face bright red.

"You want to see it? Then we can make it up to you now," Song Jie said playfully.

"Song Jie!!" Xinxia cried in embarrassment.

Jing Jing laughed, pushing Xinxia toward the dorm. "That's enough teasing! Let's go before you faint from blushing!"

Song Jie watched them leave, smiling to himself.

After leaving Zhejiang Academy, he caught a taxi back to his residence.

As he stepped out, he coincidentally ran into Tang Yue, who looked exhausted.

"Teacher Tang Yue, what happened recently?" he asked.

"Nothing," she said softly, shaking her head before disappearing into her room.

Seeing this, Song Jie didn't press further and entered his own room.

He lay down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, lost in thought.

What element should he awaken next?

It was an important question—but not one he needed to rush. He planned to wait until his existing magic elements completed their transformations before awakening another.

The night passed quietly.

Over the next few days, Song Jie alternated between the Judgment Association and Zhejiang Academy.

During this time, Little Black assisted the Judgment Association in interrogations, earning them a considerable amount of money.

The Association also made major breakthroughs, destroying multiple Black Vatican strongholds.

By now, Song Jie had become a fairly wealthy man—though, with three Summoned Beasts to feed, it still didn't feel like enough.
