Sun Dragon returned. The Sun-and-Moon duo held firm. Kira was at only 1200 Life Points—a dangerous position. It seemed unlikely he'd be able to recklessly suicide his weaker Magnet Warriors into Sun Dragon just to trigger the field's effect and bounce Sun Dragon anymore.
So Goodwin judged that the threat of "Magnetic Field" had lessened, and his Sun and Moon combo should stand.
Kira: "My turn, draw."
He looked at his new card, but didn't act, instead staring at Goodwin.
"I take back what I said before. I thought you weren't Rex Goodwin, since your actions and aura didn't fit, more like someone else I once knew.

He narrowed his eyes, asking: "Are you really Goodwin?"
Goodwin's brow twitched.

Goodwin's expression grew complicated. He looked at Kira as if for the first time, truly observing him.
After a moment, he spoke. "You're right. I'm not the Goodwin you knew. The Rex Goodwin you remember is dead.
The only reason I'm here is to correct his mistakes."
"What mistakes?" Kira asked.
"That fate is irresistible," Goodwin replied coldly. "Resisting destiny, trying to rebel against what's already foretold, only sows further tragedy.
I don't expect you to understand. I don't expect anyone to understand."
As he spoke, his Dark Signer-touched eyes filled with unfathomable darkness, as though concealing a deep abyss.
"I just want the world to become as it should.

Kira paused, then brought forth the Alpha he fetched last turn along with Beta and Gamma from the field.
"From my hand, I tribute Alpha. On the field, I tribute Beta and Gamma. I release all three classic Magnet Warriors!
Let them combine!"
The three Magnet Warriors' images appeared side by side. Their bodies broke into parts, pieces flying across the field guided by magnetic energy, forming winding channels sweeping each part into its destined place. The legendary fusion activated.
Valkyrion the Magna Warrior—Summon!

"Summoning your signature Magnet Boss again," Goodwin scoffed. "Even if you manage to defeat Sun Dragon Inti, Moon Shadow Dragon will just revive—at worst you'll deal 500 damage."
But he kept Sun Dragon's hidden power secret. If Sun Dragon Inti is destroyed by battle, it can destroy the monster that destroyed it and deal half its attack as damage.
Last turn, when Sun Dragon and Berserkion clashed, their ATKs matched, so both perished; since Berserkion was also gone, Sun Dragon's effect didn't trigger.
This time, if Kira attacks with Valkyrion for small gain, he'll lose his big monster, and take 1750 damage—just enough to lose.
Goodwin narrowed his eyes.
Come now. Attack. That moment is your defeat.
"Equip Spell—'Big Bang Shot!'" Kira said. "Equipping it to Valkyrion. Valkyrion gains 400 ATK!"

But then Kira declared: "Valkyrion, attack the 'Ceremonial Token'!"
Goodwin: "Ha! You've fallen into my trap! Sun Dragon Inti's ability—"
But he froze mid-sentence.
Wait—who are you attacking?
Valkyrion swung its sword not at the dragons, but at the almost forgotten Ceremonial Token. Goodwin's eyes darted to the equipped 'Big Bang Shot', his heart skipping a beat as he remembered.

"Big Bang Shot also lets Valkyrion deal piercing damage to defense position monsters," Kira grinned. "Any amount its ATK exceeds their DEF, you take as damage."

Goodwin spat blood (figuratively).
Thirty-nine hundred points of piercing damage!
He never imagined that inconspicuous little token would turn out as a death-flag. He'd ignored Kira's monsters, frittered away his dragons. Now he was wide open to a one-shot kill.
"A craft, cunning guy…"
Goodwin gritted his teeth.
"So I activate my set card: Trap Card 'Needle Ceiling!'"
A massive spiked ceiling appeared above the field, casting a deadly shadow over every monster.
"You can only activate this with four or more monsters on the field," Goodwin said. "Now, there's the Ceremonial Token, Sun Dragon Inti, Valkyrion, and Alpha—that's exactly four.
So, Needle Ceiling will destroy all monsters on the field!"
The spikes plunged down, annihilating every monster. Even Valkyrion was pierced through by the deadly barrage.
Boom!
A series of explosions rocked the field. When the smoke cleared, both fields were empty.
"When Sun Dragon Inti is destroyed, Moon Dragon Quilla revives!" Goodwin declared.
A dark vortex appeared, from which blue light shot forth. Quilla, heads raised, floated once again onto the field.
