(KRYSTAL'S POV)
I drop to my knees right before Val fires two shots at me.
The sound blasts through the room so loudly that my ears ring.
I throw my arms over my head, curling into myself on the floor as my whole body locks up with fear.
For a few seconds, I don't move and I don't even dare to breathe.
I open my eyes, then slowly… very slowly… I lower my arms.
My hands are shaking so badly that I can barely hold myself up as I turn my head.
There are two holes in the wall behind me, right where my head was seconds ago.
My blood goes cold.
I turn back to Valentino with wide eyes. My mouth parts but nothing comes out.
I can't believe what just happened.
I can't believe he actually pulled the trigger.
He almost put two bullets in my skull.
He almost killed me.
Val is still standing there with the gun pointed in my direction, tears running down his face.
