(KRYSTAL'S POV)
I'm so nervous I can barely keep my fingers still.
They keep twisting together in front of me as Raffaele, Angelo, and I walk through the hallway toward the staircase that leads downstairs.
No one says anything.
Maybe because there's nothing to say.
Or maybe because all three of us are thinking the exact same thing.
What if this is it?
What if Salvatore called everyone downstairs because the secret we've been desperately trying to keep buried is finally about to blow up in our faces?
By the time we reach the top of the staircase, my heart is pounding so hard that I feel it in my throat.
"Wait," I say suddenly.
Raffaele and Angelo stop.
I turn to face them, lowering my voice.
"You two should stay here for a minute."
Angelo's brows pull together. "Why?"
"Because we don't know exactly why your father called us downstairs," I say quickly. "And we can't risk it looking like we were all together just now."
