"I'm sorry, the bedding for the guest room is taking longer to arrive. You'll have to share the master's bedroom with Stasia. That's, of course, if you don't mind," Dylan said to them at the dining table after dinner.
Lori chuckled. "Even if you had 2 guest rooms, I would still share one with Stasia. That's, of course, if you don't mind sharing your wife," Lori teased, tucking her hair into the back of her ear.
Dylan laughed awkwardly. "I think I can manage for a few nights," he tried to return the humor. "Whatever makes you feel most comfortable, Stasia. That's all that matters," he added, placing his palm over her hand on the table.
Anastasia felt the weight of his warm palm... steady and safe, but her skin prickled. Every time he touched her like this, as if he were trying to anchor her to the table, she felt the sensation of Matteo's much colder, more demanding grip.
