Chapter 1170 - Chapter 252: Memory 1

Those moonlight-like soft and bright, silently flowing memories, brought Abigail a very strong shock.

She was stunned for a while before slowly walking over.

Meanwhile, the cloak had already gone past the two of them and approached a row of shelves first, with the fabric at the corners moving like flexible octopus tentacles, lightly brushing away a layer of dust on the bottles.

"Oh, there are labels attached, let me take a look..."

Upon hearing this, Abigail immediately turned her head, wanting to know how it "saw".

But the cloak did not grow a pair of eyes on it; it swayed gently and complained: "Jaylen Henry, Brandon Chubb, Miles Lindor... who are these guys?"

"Wait, Brandon Chubb?" Abigail walked over to examine the label and said softly: "I know him... he is also a Scourer, I've heard he's been active in Indiana."

"Scourers in the Midwest too? It's the first time I've heard of it." The cloak murmured and asked Braun: "Do you know about it?"

"Of course I know, the ordinary ones among them naturally are dealt with by the IRS, the troublesome ones become the new chairman's performance at the Magic Congress." Braun replied irritably: "Do you think everyone is like you, with nothing to worry about?"

"Hey, jealous? Want to swap with me?" The cloak said triumphantly.

Braun rolled his eyes: "Stop the nonsense, find the memory quickly!"

Abigail looked at them with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

Although Braun always seemed impolite when speaking to the cloak, evidently, their relationship was very good, and their attitudes were much more casual.

Between them... it did not seem like a master and garment, nor like a wizard and magic wand... but rather like equals, friends who could play and tease each other.

—Equal to the heir of the Witch Pure Party?

Abigail slightly lowered her eyes; many thoughts subconsciously flashed across her mind, pondering how much of this intelligence could be utilized.

This was instinct forged over countless days and nights; as long as she was in the Magic World, she instinctively collected all surrounding information and transformed them into potential weapons against wizards to strengthen the Scourers.

Yet, then she suddenly realized—

The Scourer organization nearly disappeared from the Earth, her loyalty towards the organization, her hatred towards wizards… all of it was shrouded in layers of unknown truths and illusions.

Everything she knew was rooted in lies… then, what meaning did her present thoughts and actions hold?

Abigail felt a slight dizziness, as though weightless from suddenly stepping on air.

She stood in place, plunged back into loss and confusion, her mind silent and empty.

A while later, Abigail finally set aside those dark thoughts and turned her gaze to the countless Crystal Bottles.

The cloak next to her, after searching for just two minutes, started to complain:

"Merlin's underwear, Merlin's smelly socks, Merlin is a bald head with no hair… so much! Hundreds, thousands! How do we fish out the few drops belonging to this lady from a vast ocean? Isn't there a simpler method?"

"Ah, how did I forget… let me try." Abigail snapped out of her dazed state, waved her magic wand, "Serra Abigail's memories, come forth!"

The light of the spell swept across the shelves; several Crystal Bottles started buzzing and trembling, the cloak quickly moved aside a bit to avoid blocking the bottles' path flying towards Abigail.

Yet the buzzing only lasted a few seconds before the bottles returned to silence.

The cloak questioned puzzledly: "Forgive me for asking, is this normal? I remember things flying with the Summoning Spell should be quick."

Abigail lowered her magic wand, saying with disappointment yet unsurprisingly: "A strong Protective Spell is cast upon the bottles, including magic that resists the Summoning Spell."

"...so still have to search, right?" The cloak sighed deeply.

The work hadn't even started and it felt tired already.

"Sorry."

For some reason, Abigail instinctively apologized, as if it truly was her fault that her magic didn't summon the memories.

"Don't worry." Braun said: "At the worst, we'll carpet search once, there's a finite number of bottles, if things go smoothly, we can go through all in a few hours."

"And since Grimson attached labels, there must be a certain pattern to it, finding the pattern will narrow the scope."

"Haha, thanks for your brilliant nonsense." The cloak muttered: "Then you start from below, I'll fly up and take a look!"

Due to the warehouse structure, the arrangement of Crystal Bottles decreases in number from bottom to top, with increasingly wider spacing. While checking one row below, several rows above can already be viewed.

The cloak liked this kind of work that seemed fruitful.

Abigail and Braun commenced from analyzing the patterns.

The names on the labels appeared chaotic, clearly unrelated to alphabetical order; upon closely inspecting the age of the labels, it seems unrelated to time as well.

Regarding faction stance, after recognizing some names of Scourers, Abigail found they scattered east and west, likewise holding no pattern.

Braun pondered several modes of linguistic encryption, suddenly hears Abigail say:

"Wait, these names... Ora, Skye, Celeste, Samir, these all relate to 'wind'! Freyja, Demi, Peter, Adam, these names relate to 'earth'!"

She suddenly energized, turned to look on the other side: "Douglas, Morgan, Lake... this is 'earth'. Then there's Amber, Nina, Kali, Osen... these pertain to fire element."
