DD couldn't maintain his composure any longer, his expression bewildered: "This is... the Three Phantasms!? But how...weren't the Phantasms supposed to be sealed!?"
"Your information is outdated." Youyu smiled, "The seal has long been undone. I get along quite well with the Phantasms... isn't that right?"
As he spoke, he winked at the summoned Raviel, Lord of Phantasms.
The so-called strongest Phantasm, Raviel, sensed his gaze and gave a reluctant growl, looking a bit awkward but complying nonetheless.

No choice, sometimes even mighty beings have to bow under the eaves. After all, Phantasms need to make a living too.
Back when they were sealed by Youyu, the three of them still managed to cause trouble, supporting Kagemaru, and even used the original Phantasm Tablets to create three Replica Cards to seek revenge against Youyu.
But that Kagemaru was too unreliable and was easily defeated, their stone tablets, along with themselves, became Youyu's trophy.
They have since accepted reality.
When you think about it, since the three Egyptian Gods are willing to comply, it's not shameful for them to bow to the Duel King.

Using the Phantasm here was partly to suppress both the Kaiju and the aura of the Light of Destruction—an overwhelming force that ordinary Duel Spirits can't compare to.
The other reason was to test the Phantasms' combat effectiveness.
After defeating Kagemaru and officially obtaining the Three Phantasms, this was the first opportunity to test them out.
Gatanothoa, as expected, was no ordinary monster; despite facing the god-level Phantasm, Raviel, in the world of Duel Monsters, it showed no fear, responding with a defiant roar.
At face value, not depending on the status of the Monster or the strength of the Spirits, in terms of card combat effectiveness alone, the Kaiju's practicality could easily overpower the so-called trash of the Phantasm.
Except for its attack power stats.

Raviel's punch transformed into waves of pulsating blue light. The Kaiju resisted with a hissing snarl, but its plasma fireballs were as insignificant as drops in the sea before the Power of Phantasms. The Kaiju's body was pierced through, shredded into mincemeat by countless invisible blades.

Raviel's strike shattered the Kaiju, and the shockwave passed through DD's body. The excruciating pain felt like a burning hand trying to yank his soul from his body.
DD let out a piercing scream, a mass of white light separating momentarily from his body, forming a face twisted in agony.
However, as the impact subsided, the light was quickly absorbed back into him.
DD struggled to regain his footing, raising his head with eyes glowing a crimson light. The left lens of his glasses was shattered, his entire face twisted in a grotesque contortion.

"Damn bastard!" DD's voice suddenly lowered a few tones, sounding as if with accentuated weight, "Just a mere human, daring to defy the fate of destruction!"
"At last, it shows itself, the Cosmic embodiment of evil, Light of Destruction," Youyu said calmly.
In the world of Duel Monsters, the lore surrounding the Cosmic battle between light and dark is odd, running contrary to many other narratives. Here, light represents evil while darkness embodies justice.
The ultimate evil aiming to devour and destroy all of the Cosmos is the pinnacle representation of light. In the animated chapters, the Light of Destruction possesses Saiou, with its signature Monster being the "Light Dominator."
And to combat this light, utilizing the power of darkness is the embodiment of justice—our Ultraman, "Elemental Hero Neos."

Of course, that's the premise, but interestingly the "Elemental Hero Neos," a representative of just darkness, is Light Attribute, which is quite intriguing...
Up until just now, DD was merely being controlled by the Light of Destruction, but after taking a punch from Raviel, it seemed the Light was in a hurry and directly took over DD's body to step onto the battlefield.

An uncarded lower-grade Masked Hero appeared on Youyu's field, surrounded by dazzling light. Armor pieces adhered and enveloped him from head to toe; the visor of his helmet lit up with faint blue, and gold blades flicked from his wrists.

DD's glasses flew into the air, the lenses shattering into fragments. The Light of Destruction was also forcibly expelled from his body, disintegrated under a single strike from the Masked Hero.
