"Counter Trap - Hero's Rule 2." The Supreme King said, "Nullify and destroy any Magic, Trap, or Monster effects targeting the graveyard!"
The Counter Trap's effect activated, and the purple Magic Array shattered like glass under the immense power. The swirling darkness coiled, and the Netherworld's magician returned to dormancy.
"Did this guy actually see through Principal Youyu's actions?" Manjome frowned.
"He has Judai's memories and is quite familiar with the teacher's Deck and tactics." Ed said, "He's a very troublesome opponent."
The Magician of Dark Illusion hadn't made its entrance yet, and Youyu couldn't negate the opponent's Trap Effect with "Magician Navigation" in the graveyard. Even if a magician were present, it still wouldn't work.
Magician Navigation is just a Normal Trap Card, which has a slower Spell Speed than Counter Traps, making it unable to negate Counter Trap effects.
Only Counter Traps can respond to other Counter Traps.
The resurrection of the Magician of Dark Illusion was interrupted, and thus the subsequent chain of expansions was naturally stifled.
But Youyu quickly adjusted his strategy: "Then I'll Normal Summon 'Apple Magician Girl,' in attack position."
The magic girl dressed in cool crimson attire appeared on the field, showing off slender, snow-white long legs and arms, with angelic white wings flapping behind her.
[Apple Magician Girl, ATK 1200]
"Set two cards face down, turn end."
"This time it's the Magician Girl... Seems like a small fry, but as soon as attacked, she'll immediately summon other magicians for a strong counterattack?"
The Supreme King glanced at her and swiftly said, "Draw."
A new slot popped out on the side of the Monster Slot on his Duel Disc.
"Field Magic 'Supreme King Castle' activation!"
A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, exploding right behind the Supreme King.
Of course, the field had already been dominated by Supreme King Castle since before the duel began. But the moment this field activated, the dark aura around the Supreme King distinctly surged again, explosively spreading in all directions.
"As long as this field exists, any Evil Hero that requires 'Dark Fusion' can be summoned using other Fusion methods too."
As the Supreme King spoke, he drew another card.
"Magic Card 'Fusion Birth'!" he proclaimed, "Send the top five cards from the Deck to the graveyard, and if there happens to be Fusion Material Monsters that meet the conditions among them, you can directly Fusion Summon that Fusion Monster!" (original card)
Youyu almost spat out old blood.
Damn, Jellyfish Head, what kind of broken stuff have you been printing behind my back while I'm not around?
I don't remember giving you such cheat-like Fusion cards...
"I send the top five cards of the Deck to the graveyard." The Supreme King flipped over five cards, briefly displayed them, and sent them to the graveyard one by one, "Among them are 'Elemental Hero Clayman' and 'Elemental Hero Sparkman.'
Therefore, I will use Clayman and Sparkman for Dark Fusion. Descend—
——Evil Hero Thunder Titan!!!"
Blue lightning streaked like a shooting star across one side of the Supreme King Castle, exploding with a deafening roar and blinding brilliance at the Supreme King's feet.
The towering Dark Hero stood up, his eyes cold and lifeless behind the goggles.
[Evil Hero Thunder Titan, ATK 2400]
Thunder Titan's effect is to destroy any one Monster once per turn, simple and straightforward. No cost of discarding a hand card, and no restriction that attack points must be lower than its own, making it an all-around enhanced version of Thunder Giant.
"Because the attack can't go directly through 'Apple Magician Girl,' effect destruction seems to be the obvious choice." Youyu stated, "But unfortunately, it won't work.
Flip Cover Card! Trap Card 'Dark Renewal'!
When your opponent's Monster is summoned or Special Summoned successfully, sacrifice that Monster and one Spellcaster-Type Monster from your field to the graveyard to revive a Dark Attribute Spellcaster-Type Monster from the graveyard!"
Youyu waved his hand.
"Your Thunder Titan will become my sacrifice.
Using 'Evil Hero Thunder Titan' and 'Apple Magician Girl' as sacrifices, now revive here—
——Dark Magician!"
The Thunder Titan, still unsteady on its feet, was immediately broken down into streams of purple-black light. Apple Magician Girl transformed into a stream of red light; both were absorbed into the ground.
A black vortex opened, and a red coffin rose gradually, with a complex Array spreading on the ground like some forbidden ritual.
The lid of the coffin popped open with a "click," and the black-robed mage lightly flew out, the Magic Staff creating a black arc of magic power in the air, swirling back into the Dark Magician's hands.
[Dark Magician, ATK 2500]
"At this moment," Youyu declared, "The effect of the Continuous Magic 'Magician Navigation' will remove one card from the opponent's field from the game.
Remove 'Evil Hero Inferno Wing'!"
The Magic Staff in the Dark Magician's hand whirled, as if a general commanding troops drew out the commanding sword. The golden rings of the Magician Navigation spun rapidly, and a beam of white light shot out, hitting Inferno Wing head-on, which immediately disintegrated in the dimensional twist.
"Excellent." Ed remarked, "One Trap not only simultaneously wiped out two major Evil Heroes, but also reversed the summoning of Dark Magician on this basis..."
"Principal Youyu also knows the opponent is aware of his card effects." Manjome muttered, "So on the surface, he summons 'Apple Magician Girl,' uses her counter effect for defense... But in reality, she is just a bait for a deeper trap?"
Just like that, the situation on the field is reversed once more, with the Supreme King's two powerful Evil Heroes successively dealt with.
The field is empty, yet the Supreme King seems oblivious and instead calmly reveals another card from his hand: "Then I'll activate the Magic Card 'A Hero Lives' from my hand.
Pay half of the Life Points to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower 'Elemental Hero' from the Deck."
[The Supreme King, LP 3900 → LP 1950]
"To lose half of the Life Points at once!?" Manjome frowned.
"But this is absolutely a card worth the price." Ed said solemnly, "Using this card as a starting point, it's completely possible to instantly annihilate the opponent!"
"But have you forgotten? I now have 'Dark Magician' on my field." Youyu smiled.
While speaking, a black vortex had already opened in front of him. The wild torrents of magic surged like a storm, with Trap Cards whirling out of the graveyard.
"Activate Trap Card 'Magician Navigation' from the graveyard!" Youyu waved his hand and said, "Banish this Trap Card from the game when 'Dark Magician' exists on your field, negating any Magic or Trap card on the field until the end of the turn!"
Youyu pointed straight ahead.
"Negate the effect of 'A Hero Lives'!"
"Great!" Ed couldn't help exclaiming, "This way, he loses half of his Life Points for nothing; the situation is getting increasingly favorable for Mr. Youyu."
Yet the Supreme King remained unfazed, silently sending the negated Magic Card to the graveyard.
Then quickly revealed another card from their hand.
"Evil Hero Golden Malicious's effect. Discard this card to the graveyard from the hand, add 'Dark Fusion' or a card that mentions its name from the Deck to your hand."
Manjome and Ed both twitched their eyes simultaneously.
"That card is..."
"I discard 'Golden Malicious,' and add the Magic Card 'Dark Calling' to my hand from the Deck.
Next, activate the Magic Card 'Dark Calling'! Banish Fusion Materials from hand and graveyard from the game for a Dark Fusion Summon of an 'Evil Hero.'
Banish 'Evil Hero Golden Malicious' and 'Evil Hero Thunder Titan' from the graveyard, Dark Fusion!
Awaken from the abyss of Hell, bringing annihilation with hatred and despair—
——Evil Hero Malicious Bane, Summon!"
