Tsunade, with the setup of winning and losing, is really just a big sheep ready to be fleeced, already feeling she would lose before starting.
However, Tsunade didn't know that when it comes to dice, she could never get the upper hand over Mokgetsu, because Mokgetsu had a cheat. Underneath his glasses, he could subtly activate the Byakugan, allowing him to see through the dice.
"Well, thank you, Lady Tsunade, for helping me even though you lost," Mokgetsu said with a smile.
Although he had cheating methods, Mokgetsu decided not to use the Byakugan. He had already gained plenty from Tsunade, and he wouldn't force it if she was truly reluctant, as his mind was very clear: without Tsunade's help, it would just take a little more time.
Tsunade felt that Mokgetsu was teasing her, but she had no evidence because Mokgetsu had never been to the casino with her, and not many in Konoha knew about her always losing when she gambled.
But luckily, Tsunade wasn't someone who reasoned things out. She directly clapped Mokgetsu on the back, laughing loudly, "Of course, otherwise how else would I teach you Medical Ninjutsu?"
Mokgetsu kept a light smile on his face. He was always maintaining the Constant State of the Breath of Rock, which increased his defense, and Tsunade was only using playful strength.
"Your physical training is quite impressive," Tsunade raised an eyebrow, feeling the hard sensation returned from her palm. She had indeed used a bit of force.
Because it was almost mealtime, Tsunade didn't want to waste Mokgetsu's time, so she quickly called Shizune to bring the tools.
Clatter, clatter.
Under Tsunade's quick shaking, the dice continued to collide with the cup, making noise.
"Have you ever been to a casino?" Tsunade asked Mokgetsu while shaking the dice.
"No," Mokgetsu shook his head in response.
In neither his past life nor the Naruto World had he been to a casino; at most, he had played Liar's Dice with friends at a karaoke bar.
"A newbie, huh? Then I should congratulate you in advance; newbies usually have quite good luck," Tsunade said with a cheerful smile.
"Inside, there are five dice. Below seventeen is small, and above seventeen is big. The person who guesses correctly wins," since Mokgetsu said he was new, Tsunade briefly explained the rules of guessing big or small.
Bang!
After speaking, Tsunade slammed the cup on the table and looked at Mokgetsu, "Since you're a newbie, I'll let you go first."
Without activating Byakugan, Mokgetsu also didn't have the ability to discern dice by sound. He didn't think too much and casually said, "Big."
"Very well, then I'll bet on small." Tsunade lifted the cup, revealing the five dice inside.
As she unveiled the cup, Tsunade couldn't help but laugh with satisfaction, thinking she had done great this time, perfectly utilizing her strange luck.
But when Tsunade saw the numbers on the five dice, her smile slowly froze, turning to disbelief.
Mokgetsu was slightly surprised too as he looked at the numbers on the dice; it turned out to be exactly sixteen, just a bit more and it wouldn't have been small.
This was quite unexpected for Mokgetsu; he was prepared to win. After all, this was the famously big sheep in the Ninja World, going to a casino was basically doing charity.
"Congratulations, it seems Lady Tsunade, the veteran, has the upper hand," Mokgetsu said warmly.
"Ah, how could this be, I actually won!" Tsunade still wore a look of disbelief.
She had never won since she was little, whether it was cards, dice, or lottery, not even once.
Tsunade rubbed her eyes, then leaned in to take a close look at the dice, but no matter how she looked, the numbers didn't change; it remained sixteen.
"Impossible, it shouldn't be like this," Tsunade murmured while ruffling her hair.
Tsunade's unusual behavior drew Shizune, who was washing vegetables, over and she asked curiously, "Lady Tsunade, did you lose again?"
She remembered Tsunade didn't seem to have much of an emotional change even when she lost a million ryo.
"It would've been better if I lost, but I won," Tsunade said helplessly, she genuinely didn't expect to win.
"Isn't winning a good thing..." Shizune thought of Tsunade's peculiar gambling clause and kept her mouth shut.
The bet between Tsunade and Mokgetsu, winning equaled losing, equaled winning.
"Judging by this, Lady Tsunade actually lost just like always," Shizune thought to herself.
"Something's off, something's off, could your gambling luck be worse than mine?" Having grown up losing, Tsunade felt all out of sorts having won this time.
"Let's go another round; this time the win or loss won't affect our agreement," Tsunade said calmly.
She wouldn't go back on her word, since it was just about helping Mokgetsu develop a Ninjutsu, not signing some 996 work contract. Once the Ninjutsu development is completed, she could leisurely slack off again.
Tsunade truly wanted to gamble again to see what was going on.
"No problem." Mokgetsu nodded in agreement.
He also felt a bit curious about what was happening, could his gambling luck be worse than Tsunade's?
After Mokgetsu spoke, Tsunade immediately shook the dice and quickly put it on the table.
"This time I'll start, I guess big," Tsunade said first.
"Then I'll guess small," Mokgetsu followed.
Then Tsunade rapidly unveiled the cup, revealing the five dice inside.
"Perhaps there really is something called newbie luck," Mokgetsu commented as he looked at the numbers on the dice.
This time the number was ten, so Mokgetsu won.
Tsunade felt an indescribable melancholy, had she won again this time, she might have been a bit happier.
