Chapter 523 - Chapter 300: The True and False Fourth Hokage

Kakashi didn't know what changes this action would bring to the future, but he knew that if such an opportunity was placed in front of him and he didn't take action, he would live his life in regret if Mokgetsu really died.

Not just Mokgetsu; he needed to clear up everything about Obito and Nohara Rin. If Mokgetsu Squad ended with him being the only survivor, then it would be better for them all to die in battle together.

"Just as Teacher Mokgetsu said, our future can be decided by us." Nohara Rin reassured with a gentle smile.

At this moment, her feelings were also very complex. From the performances of Yamato and Uzumaki Naruto, she was afraid she might die in the coming days.

To say she wasn't afraid of death would be a lie. Nohara Rin occasionally thought about the fear of all thoughts disappearing after death and never being able to think again.

But she was still alive now, and if she feared because she might die, then everyone should be afraid from birth, because death is the end for everyone, so living Nohara Rin chose to first calm her emotionally unstable friends.

"No wonder Minato-sama is so respected." Yamato looked at Mokgetsu with admiration.

Put in his place, if he encountered a ninja from the future who was still hiding things about himself, Yamato wouldn't feel at ease without an answer.

But this Fourth Hokage was different. Not only did he not care about his life-and-death issues, but he also comforted his disciples, saying things like our future needs to be created by ourselves.

The young Fourth Hokage in front of him met all of Yamato's fantasies about the Fourth Hokage.

"Minato-sama?" Obito, Kakashi, and Nohara Rin all looked puzzled and then turned to Yamato.

Kakashi frowned slightly; he had already introduced Mokgetsu, although with a bit of misinformation.

"Did I say something wrong?" Seeing the three of them staring at him, Yamato was a bit confused.

He frantically reexamined what he just said and didn't find anything wrong; it was as normal as could be.

Although he was older than the current Fourth Hokage, he was, after all, the future Fourth Hokage, and his current strength was much stronger, so calling him "sama" wasn't an issue.

"Dummy bro, are your eyes or ears not working to call our Teacher Mokgetsu by Minato's name?" Possibly due to his negative emotions hadn't yet dissipated, Obito's words were rather harsh.

Obito's "dummy bro" felt like a sharp sword piercing through Yamato's body.

First scolded by Kakashi, then by Obito, now Yamato began to doubt himself, unable to help but ask Uzumaki Naruto next to him, "Do I really seem dumb?"

"So Captain Yamato, you never realized it?" Uzumaki Naruto answered honestly.

Naruto's words hit straight to Yamato's heart, severely wounding his self-esteem; he always thought he was the kind of person with a lot of authority.

"You missed the point. Why did you call Teacher Mokgetsu 'Minato-sama'?" Kakashi asked seriously.

He thought things might have turned around; the future might not be what he imagined.

Obito and Kakashi's words left Yamato bewildered. Wasn't Habu Mokgetsu a name used to trick him because they considered him an enemy?

"Because isn't he Minato-sama?" Yamato couldn't process all the information at once.

"Although, Teacher Minato and Teacher Mokgetsu look quite similar, you can't see them as the same person." Obito remarked, seeing them as only brothers at best.

Kakashi's mind was racing. He realized they might have misunderstood something; Mokgetsu wasn't the future Fourth Hokage, Yamato, and Uzumaki Naruto had mistaken him for Namikaze Minato, who resembled him greatly.

"So the Fourth Hokage's full name is Namikaze Minato?" Kakashi asked, eyes flickering.

Yamato instinctively nodded.

After receiving confirmation, Kakashi showed a surprised expression.

Good news, Teacher Mokgetsu might not be dead, bad news, Teacher Minato seems like he will die.

"Huh? The Fourth Hokage is Teacher Minato." Obito was temporarily at a loss.

He didn't know what emotions to use in facing this; if Minato died, he would be very sad too.

Despite being the Anbu captain, seeing Kakashi and Obito's reactions, Yamato instantly realized he might have been mistaken, but he was still confused and uncertain.

The blond-haired figure in front of him looked just like the one on the rock face, possessing powerful abilities and adept in using the Flying Thunder God—perfectly matching the characteristics of the Fourth Hokage. Who else could he be if not the Fourth Hokage?

Now Yamato was utterly baffled.

If Yamato was bewildered, let alone Uzumaki Naruto, who couldn't understand the conversation at all anymore.

"Huh, what do you mean, isn't this guy the Fourth Hokage?" Uzumaki Naruto asked, confused.

"We don't have a Fourth Hokage now, but if your Fourth Hokage is Teacher Minato, you've mistaken the person; the one before you is Teacher Mokgetsu." Obito replied.

Naruto was quite puzzled; to him, Mokgetsu was the Fourth Hokage from the rock image. He looked at Yamato, but Yamato hadn't fully understood it either, unable to help Naruto clear up his doubts.

"You two likely got the wrong person. My full name is Habu Mokgetsu; Minato is a very good friend of mine." Mokgetsu introduced himself.
