Chapter 548 - Chapter 306: Reunion of Master and Disciple Across Time and Space (Part 2)

The Jiraiya of this period doesn't know him, and getting too excited might cause trouble for the other party.

"Are you Uzumaki Naruto? So rude, you should either call me Lord Jiraiya or Toad Sage." Jiraiya scrutinized Uzumaki Naruto and said.

"You do look a bit like Minato, and combined with the last name Uzumaki of the Nine-tailed Jinchuriki..." After taking a few glances, Jiraiya confirmed Mokgetsu's suspicion in his heart.

"But aren't you exactly a Pervy Sage?" Uzumaki Naruto wiped his eyes and said confidently.

"Forget it, I'm too lazy to argue with a little kid like you." Naruto's behavior reminded Jiraiya of someone.

"I heard from Mokgetsu that you wanted to see me." Jiraiya said as he walked towards Loulan Avenue.

Uzumaki Naruto's eyes flickered, remembering something, he clenched his fist and nodded heavily.

"I am a ninja from the future," Uzumaki Naruto followed Jiraiya and said.

"So, what do you want?" Jiraiya's eyes widened when he saw the beautiful women in traditional Loulan attire on Loulan Avenue.

Seeing Jiraiya's nonchalant attitude, Naruto scratched his head, feeling this reaction was too calm.

"Don't you want to ask me about the future? About yours?" Uzumaki Naruto couldn't help but ask.

Obito and the others knew he was a ninja from the future and even ran to their room at night to ask.

"I don't want to." Jiraiya answered straightforwardly.

"Knowing everything about my future would make life a lot less fun."

Although Jiraiya was willing to run around for the Great Toad Sage's prophecy, knowing his own future was a different matter.

"Also, aren't you worried that directly telling me the future might change history and you might disappear?" Jiraiya looked at Uzumaki Naruto seriously.

"As long as history moves in a good direction, what does it matter if it changes? Even if a good future doesn't include me, I'd be happy." Uzumaki Naruto said solemnly as he looked directly into Jiraiya's eyes.

If in the future, Mokgetsu, the Fourth Hokage, Obito, Jiraiya, and everyone else survived, Uzumaki Naruto felt it would be worth disappearing.

"Who do you think you are, talking so arrogantly as a little kid who's not even an adult yet? No one needs you to sacrifice yourself, and no one needs you to save them." Jiraiya raised an eyebrow and said.

From talking to Uzumaki Naruto, Jiraiya could roughly guess that his future wouldn't be too happy, but Jiraiya still didn't want to know his future.

Are you kidding? He's Jiraiya, one of the Sannin, the Toad Sage of Mount Myoboku. Does he need a ninja from the future to sacrifice himself to save him?

"Damn it, don't underestimate me. I've completed countless missions and defeated countless opponents." Uzumaki Naruto said, unwilling to be outdone.

At first glance, Uzumaki Naruto felt that Jiraiya was so youthful he seemed unfamiliar, but after talking, Uzumaki Naruto was sure this was the Pervy Sage he knew.

Talking so annoyingly and being such a pervert, who else could it be but the Pervy Sage?

"Is that so? I don't see you even wearing a Chunin waistcoat. Aren't you still just a Genin?" Jiraiya teased.

Chunin waistcoats aren't mandatory, and some Chunin don't wear them.

Uzumaki Naruto wanted to argue further but, after some thought, his face froze; he really was still just a Genin.

Uzumaki Naruto's reaction made Jiraiya laugh heartily. Being a Genin at this age was quite rare.

Uzumaki Naruto showed a dissatisfied expression, then his eyes rolled as he thought of a good idea.

"Ninja levels don't matter. I have a very powerful Ninjutsu to teach you, really strong, with great power," Naruto said, pulling Jiraiya to a corner.

"Rasengan!"

Uzumaki Naruto gathered a large amount of chakra in his palm, then formed a high-speed rotating Chakra Ball.

With a loud bang, Uzumaki Naruto slammed the ball in his hand onto the ground, creating a crater.

After demonstrating the Rasengan, Uzumaki Naruto, with his hands on his hips, proudly looked at Jiraiya and said, "I told you it's powerful."

He didn't believe this couldn't impress Jiraiya.

Uzumaki Naruto was excitedly anticipating the scene of Jiraiya learning the Rasengan from him; he would turn the tables and do to Jiraiya what Jiraiya had done to him.

"Just give me 150,000 ryo and treat me to ramen ten times, and I'll teach you."

"The power is indeed impressive," Jiraiya acknowledged the power of the Rasengan.

With his eyesight, he could see that this was a seemingly simple but actually complex and powerful no-seal jutsu.

"But I don't want to learn it." Jiraiya promptly refused Uzumaki Naruto.

"Huh, why?" Naruto was so surprised his jaw almost dropped, asking Jiraiya iin confusion.

"Because you seem too arrogant," Jiraiya stroked his chin and said.

He was joking, of course; the real reason was Jiraiya didn't want to change history.

Jiraiya came to see Uzumaki Naruto not because he was from the future, but because Uzumaki Naruto was related to Minato and, by extension, to his future self.

He simply came to fulfill Uzumaki Naruto's desire and had no intention of knowing the future or learning Ninjutsu from it.

"Then I won't ask for money, just treat me to ramen once," Uzumaki Naruto got flustered, thinking his conditions were too high and quickly slashed his terms.

He certainly wasn't after Jiraiya's money; he just hoped Jiraiya would learn Rasengan earlier to get stronger, and having ramen together was just another chance to share a meal.

"Even ramen isn't cheap," Jiraiya continued.

"Then I can treat you, at least; I'll buy you ramen, then you learn the Rasengan from me," Uzumaki Naruto got a little anxious.

Jiraiya's eyes scanned Loulan Avenue, and when he saw an ice cream vendor, his eyes lit up.

"Let's skip the ramen; just buy me an ice cream," Jiraiya said as he led Naruto to the vendor.

"One ice cream, please."

The vendor promptly handed two conjoined ice creams to Jiraiya.

Uzumaki Naruto sighed and obediently handed over coins, hoping Jiraiya would remember his words and learn the Rasengan well.

Just then, Jiraiya broke the ice cream in two and handed one part to Uzumaki Naruto.

"Here, sharing it with you," Jiraiya said with a smile.

"What do you mean sharing, wasn't it me who bought it in the first place?" Uzumaki Naruto couldn't help but retort.

Despite his complaint, Uzumaki Naruto accepted the ice cream Jiraiya offered and immediately put it in his mouth.

Jiraiya didn't eat right away but instead asked Naruto with a grin, "Is it good?"

"Yeah, it's delicious!" Uzumaki Naruto beamed with a smile of happiness, nodding.

Though it was just a simple ice cream, at this moment, its taste rivaled Mokgetsu's culinary creations in Naruto's heart.

"Whatever happens, face it bravely, don't give up or run away. Just hold firm to your dreams, and you'll have the chance to achieve them," Jiraiya said after taking a few bites.

He wasn't exactly sure what Uzumaki Naruto had been through, but he could tell the kid lacked love and greatly trusted him.

"Thank you for the ice cream, but no need to learn any Ninjutsu; this Shadow Clone's chakra is about gone."

As the number one user of Shadow Clones in battle, Uzumaki Naruto certainly understood Jiraiya's meaning and was eager to warn Jiraiya not to gather information.

But Jiraiya seemed to anticipate Naruto's intentions and covered his mouth with his hand.

Jiraiya didn't use much force, but Uzumaki Naruto dared not struggle, fearing that damaging the Shadow Clone might make Jiraiya disappear immediately.

Jiraiya quickly finished the ice cream and put his hand on Uzumaki Naruto's head.

"If I ever take on another student, I'll train them to be as excellent as you," Jiraiya laughed twice before releasing the Shadow Clone.

While Jiraiya didn't spend much time with Uzumaki Naruto, he was very satisfied with the boy's performance.

"Pervy Sage, don't..." Uzumaki Naruto reached out to grab Jiraiya, only to catch the fallen stick of the ice cream.

Uzumaki Naruto stood there, dazed, staring at the spot where Jiraiya had just stood. If not for the slightly cool ice cream stick in his hand, he might have thought it was all a dream.

At this moment, Uzumaki Naruto couldn't hold back his emotions any longer; his vision blurred, and tears uncontrollably streamed down.

He truly wished for Jiraiya to survive.
