Chapter 553 - Chapter 308: Father and Son Reunited Across Time and Space (End of Dragon Vein)

Minato didn't want to speculate too much about the future; he wasn't prepared to guess what would cause his own death. He just felt that if they recognized each other here, Naruto would be in great pain once he returned to the original world.

Though they were father and son, they were people from different times, and their time together would be very short.

Uzumaki Naruto, who had never experienced fatherly love, might have already gotten used to such a life. Namikaze Minato didn't want to pull Naruto, who could already endure the darkness, into a brief light, only to have him return to endless darkness again.

The only thing Namikaze Minato could do was to take good care of Uzumaki Naruto before he returned, after all, he was his child.

"Very much like your style," Mokgetsu said, as he had expected from Minato's reply.

Minato was a very gentle person. While recognizing each other might bring Naruto momentary joy and warmth, he would endure a longer period of pain after returning. Thus, Mokgetsu anticipated Minato's choice.

Namikaze Minato smiled and thanked, "Thank you for your trouble during this time, taking care of Obito and Naruto all this while."

"It's nothing for me, but Minato, you should make the most out of the time; they'll be leaving in a week," Mokgetsu replied.

Uzumaki Naruto and the others had spent quite some time here. Due to the mysterious nature of time travel, Mokgetsu didn't know what the situation would be for Uzumaki Naruto once he returned, whether he'd go back to the very moment he traveled or if there would be changes based on Mokgetsu's timeline.

To ensure that Uzumaki Naruto wouldn't return just to start a fight with Pain, Mokgetsu wasn't planning to let Naruto stay too long.

If it weren't for Namikaze Minato's arrival, Mokgetsu would arrange for their return as soon as Naruto learned the Breath of Yang.

Namikaze Minato nodded; he would take care of Uzumaki Naruto as much as possible in this week.

After training, Mokgetsu prepared a lavish dinner.

Whether it was due to Namikaze Minato's future identity as the Fourth Hokage or because of their blood connection, Uzumaki Naruto was very curious about Namikaze Minato, incessantly asking him various questions both before and after meals.

Namikaze Minato answered Uzumaki Naruto patiently, showing no signs of impatience.

This greatly increased Uzumaki Naruto's fondness for Namikaze Minato, and the image of the Fourth Hokage in his mind gradually became fuller.

Even Yamato felt something was amiss due to how well Namikaze Minato treated Uzumaki Naruto.

He had heard that the Fourth Hokage was very amiable, but this seemed a bit too much. They had known Uzumaki Naruto for just a few days, yet he could fulfill all of Naruto's requests.

When Uzumaki Naruto casually mentioned wanting to eat ramen in the middle of the night, Minato soon brought a steaming bowl of ramen over.

When Uzumaki Naruto wanted to engage in battle training with Namikaze Minato, Minato eagerly agreed and pointed out Naruto's shortcomings as they sparred.

Moreover, since Namikaze Minato's arrival, the often restlessly sleeping Naruto no longer had his blanket fall to the floor.

Uzumaki Naruto, with his carefree nature, didn't notice, but Yamato, who shared a room with him, felt something unusual.

Although Yamato had his speculations, he remained silent, since Namikaze Minato himself chose not to speak of it, he, as an outsider, should not make any reckless comments.

On the last day, because Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato would return to their original time that night, Mokgetsu didn't have them engage in cultivation but instead encouraged them to fully enjoy life.

Uzumaki Naruto suggested taking a good tour around Loulan, and Namikaze Minato, upon hearing this, expressed that he had the same intention.

"Naruto, you go have fun first. I have something to do here; I'll just stroll around myself later," Yamato thought and said.

"Same here." To prevent Obito from saying anything unnecessary, Kakashi spoke on his behalf.

Being perceptive, he noticed something was up, and wanted to give Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Naruto some time alone on their last day.

After all, they weren't transmigrators; if they wanted to enjoy Loulan, they'd have plenty of time.

Obito originally wanted to say something, but ultimately, under Kakashi's signaling gaze, he closed his mouth.

"Alright then, Brother Minato and I will head out first." Uzumaki Naruto didn't think too much and happily went out with Namikaze Minato.

As soon as Uzumaki Naruto and the others left, Obito looked at Kakashi discontentedly and said:

"Kakashi, what's this about? Big Brother Naruto is leaving tonight; shouldn't we hang out with him?"

"We've spent quite some time with him already, a day less won't matter, but it's different on Minato-sensei's side," Kakashi explained simply without elaborating.

Obito disliked Kakashi's cryptic manner, but at that moment, he could only nod ambiguously, pretending he understood.

Because he noticed that the other people present didn't show any signs of confusion, asking further would only make him appear ignorant.

Then Mokgetsu left as well, as he had many things to attend to, keeping busy.

"Since we're leaving soon, Yamato, try to recall if there's any significant future event you haven't mentioned." Obito suddenly remembered and asked Yamato.

As someone who often forgot various things, Obito, judging others by himself, was concerned Yamato might have also forgotten to share some crucial information.

"Important information, huh..." Yamato hesitated for a moment.

Thinking carefully, he indeed hadn't mentioned a major event related to Obito, which was the Uchiha clan's massacre.

"We've said so much already, no need to keep any secrets," Kakashi chimed in supportively.
