Chapter 575 - Chapter 316: The Eyes of the Six Paths Sage

After encountering Pakura, Mokgetsu and the others faced no further unexpected situations and successfully escorted the client to the destination.

"Truly reliable, if I issue another mission in Konoha next time, I will definitely request you, Mokgetsu." The middle-aged client highly appreciated Mokgetsu's business capabilities.

As an ordinary person, he wasn't particularly familiar with ninja affairs, but Mokgetsu's strength was visibly apparent, making him very dependable.

To express his gratitude, the middle-aged client wanted to invite Mokgetsu and the others to a famous local restaurant for a big meal.

Mokgetsu asked for Obito and the others' opinions and ultimately politely declined the middle-aged client's kindness.

Under normal circumstances, Obito would be happy to go for that big meal, but he was a bit concerned about the Akatsuki organization in the Land of Rain.

The four of them discussed and decided to investigate the Akatsuki organization on the way back.

Since the information about the Akatsuki was obtained from Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato, they had to keep it secret from Mokgetsu.

"We can apply to Teacher Mokgetsu for a certain degree of free action, but shouldn't stray too far from Teacher Mokgetsu, so that Teacher Mokgetsu can use the Flying Thunder God technique to support us, preventing any accidents," Kakashi suggested.

Kakashi believed the investigation was fine, but given the Land of Rain's chaos, they shouldn't go too far.

Otherwise, encountering a strong ninja from the Hidden Cloud or Hidden Rock would be troublesome.

"We can have Obito make the request, just say he wants to take some photos of the Land of Rain's scenery," Shisui suggested.

"I really do want to take photos of the Land of Rain's scenery," Obito nodded, "Rin, you better stay back with Teacher Mokgetsu."

Nohara Rin was the weakest among them, with most of her abilities focused on healing, making her less equipped to handle danger compared to the others.

"I'll stay with Teacher Mokgetsu and provide cover for you," Nohara Rin gently smiled and agreed.

She was very self-aware and tried not to add any burden to Obito and the others.

Without delay, the four set their plan into motion, with Obito holding the camera and bashfully telling Mokgetsu:

"Teacher Mokgetsu, you see, the mission's done, can I find a spot to take some photos as a keepsake? We won't be far from the group, and I'll have Kakashi and the others with me."

"Then go ahead," Mokgetsu agreed readily.

Mokgetsu also wanted to gather more intelligence on the Land of Rain, so slowing down their return was part of his plan.

"Hehe, Teacher Mokgetsu, you're the best," Obito chuckled and cheered as Mokgetsu agreed directly.

"Stay safe, don't go too far," Mokgetsu chuckled, patting Obito on the head in a reminder.

Although he would certainly send a Shadow Clone to protect his students, Mokgetsu still hoped they would remain vigilant.

Obito nodded like a pecking chick, patting his chest hard to assure he had no problem.

With their goal achieved, the Mokgetsu Squad began to split up: Mokgetsu with Nohara Rin, and Kakashi, Obito, and Shisui in a group investigating the Akatsuki.

Obito and the others asked several villagers and town residents but either they didn't know, or they praised the Akatsuki.

"The Akatsuki consists of good ninjas, they once helped drive out wandering ninjas from our village."

"The Akatsuki? I heard it's a great ninja organization, hiring them to fight bandits is more cost-effective than going to a Ninja Village."

The more they inquired about the Akatsuki, the more confused Obito and the others felt.

"Maybe it's just the same name, and these two Akatsuki organizations aren't the same?" Obito thought the Akatsuki seemed like a benevolent ninja organization, not a terror group.

"Hard to say," Kakashi shook his head.

Previously, due to Shisui's intelligence, he thought it was the same Akatsuki, but now Kakashi was also a bit uncertain.

If they were just amassing power, the Akatsuki didn't have to go to such lengths, doing good deeds everywhere with its members.

This was meaningless, as a ninja organization, even if they did a hundred good deeds, a couple of bad ones would still ruin their reputation.

Taking commissions and earning money is the right way to accumulate strength.

"Maybe the two Akatsuki are indeed the same, and the current Akatsuki is indeed a benevolent ninja organization, while the future Akatsuki becomes a terrorist organization," Shisui thought for a moment and said.

People change; being good now doesn't mean remaining good in the future, nor does future evil mean past malice.

Shisui believed it's like Uchiha Itachi, who would wipe out the Uchiha clan in the future, but currently, Uchiha Itachi is just a kid, speaking vaguely and somewhat naive.

Though he only exchanged a few words, Shisui didn't think the current Yahiko was a madman who would seize the Tailed Beasts from the Five Great Countries.

"That seems very possible," Kakashi showed a thoughtful expression.

Though only ten years old, Kakashi had experienced quite a lot, and some things could indeed change a person's character dramatically.

"So, which is it exactly?" Obito was puzzled by Shisui's words.

Neither Shisui nor Kakashi answered Obito, as there was too little crucial information, and they were merely speculating.

"Such trouble, it would be easier if we could ask them directly," Obito sighed.

Perhaps by a stroke of luck or mere coincidence, they happened to encounter Yahiko and others maintaining law and order while gathering information, witnessing Yahiko in action firsthand.

"That orange-haired man using Water Release is the Akatsuki's leader, Yahiko," Shisui whispered.
