Chapter 629 - Chapter 336: Kakashi's Advancement Reward

[Disciple Uchiha Shisui diligently cultivated and achieved perfect results in the Chunin Examination, promoted to Chunin, and received rewards: Chakra +1800, random Bloodline Limit drawing scroll]

Although it was much easier for Shisui to get first place compared to Kakashi, the system gave the same rewards. Mokgetsu determined that the Chunin Examination rewards were fixed, just like the Ninja Academy exam rewards, given according to rank.

Mokgetsu went to the kitchen, turned on the faucet, and washed his hands, then prepared to use the Bloodline Drawing Scroll.

Even though it didn't require the use of hands during operation, the sense of ritual was still necessary.

After greeting the various deities in his heart, Mokgetsu mentally controlled and clicked to extract.

[The random Bloodline Limit Drawing Scroll has been used, acquiring the Bloodline Limit - Wood Release]

"Wood Release, not bad." Mokgetsu nodded as he noticed an extra entry-level skill in the skill bar.

The strength of Senju Hashirama wasn't just due to Wood Release. With Senju Hashirama's Chakra, any Ninjutsu would have considerable power, but Wood Release was still an excellent Bloodline Limit.

Wood Release could absorb Chakra and suppress Tailed Beast powers, which is why Kakashi needed Yamato's help to train Naruto.

Mokgetsu also found Tailed Beasts quite troublesome; they were tough and possessed the terrifying ability of the Tailed Beast Ball. Using Wood Release against Tailed Beasts made things much simpler.

Of course, this required a certain level of proficiency in Wood Release, as even Yamato's Wood Release was at a Master Level but not very proficient. His entry-level proficiency in Wood Release probably couldn't grow very large trees.

Mokgetsu decided to use his last Nature Transformation Experience Scroll on Wood Release.

This was one of the upgrade rewards for training seven hundred students; he received two in total, with the other used on Ice Release.

Since all seven of Mokgetsu's Nature Transformations were at Master Level or above, based on his experience, upgrading proficiency at high skill levels became more difficult.

For example, an entry-level skill with one point of proficiency could level up to proficient after gaining the same Ninjutsu three times, but after reaching proficient, the proficiency gained from the same entry-level skill would decrease. Eighteen repeated entry-level skills couldn't turn a proficient skill into a master level.

[Skill: Wood Release (Proficiency: 1000/3000)]

With the use of the scroll, many training experiences in Wood Release appeared in Mokgetsu's mind, and he was instantly transformed from someone who had never trained in Wood Release into someone with a bit of understanding.

Then Mokgetsu went to the Southern Border Forest to test his Wood Release.

Before testing, Mokgetsu used Perception Ninjutsu to sense the surroundings, then activated the Transparent World and Byakugan to confirm that there was indeed no one around before officially starting the test.

Mokgetsu placed his palms on the ground and quickly converted the Chakra accumulated within into Wood Release Chakra to activate the Wood Release.

Under Mokgetsu's gaze, a sprout burst out of the soil and grew into an eight or nine-meter tall tree at an unnatural speed.

"Such a magical nature." Mokgetsu marveled after inspecting the tree he created.

Logically, with such rapid growth, the tree should be unhealthy, but it was actually in excellent condition, even healthier and more vigorous than naturally grown trees.

Tests confirmed that the strong vitality of the Chakra Nature Transformation in Wood Release was inherent.

However, this vitality only manifested in the trees created by Wood Release, serving solely as the power for Ninjutsu. The vital nature of Wood Release wasn't like the burning nature of Fire, as it was an innate effect of the nature itself and couldn't grant the user of Wood Release great vitality.

"How do I improve my proficiency in Wood Release? Should I conduct another training session?" Mokgetsu considered after burning the tree he created.

Compared to Ice Release, Wood Release had more strategic value to Mokgetsu, offering more means to deal with Tailed Beasts. Hence, he wanted to increase his proficiency in Wood Release.

Mokgetsu was inclined to train by himself. Since crossing into the Naruto World, he had never been idle and didn't mind dedicating a portion of his time to the training of Wood Release.

However, training alone would have low efficiency. Yamato had been training for over twenty years and was only at the Master Level. Unless Mokgetsu had the same talent for Wood Release and Fuinjutsu, even Uchiha Madara wouldn't be able to achieve much through self-training.

Mokgetsu had a clear self-awareness of this point. Even Senju Hashirama himself wasn't invincible after just two or three years of Wood Release training.

Since self-training wasn't feasible, Mokgetsu thought about exploiting loopholes.

Mokgetsu's current idea was to conduct special training and use two additional Nature Transformation Experience Scrolls on Wood Release.

He didn't intend to directly teach Wood Release in order to gain experience, not because he was afraid of exposing Wood Release, but because he couldn't farm it.

Mokgetsu had already delivered quite a few S-level evaluations in his lectures and had figured out the reward mechanism for S-level evaluations.

The primary factor in S-level evaluation rewards was to reward what was taught, but this had a prerequisite: the students' learning outcomes.

The more the students learned, the more rewards were provided, and vice versa.

This was one reason for the disparities when Mokgetsu taught different Nature transformations, as people's Chakra Attributes weren't balanced. Wind was rare, while Fire, Earth, and Water were relatively common.

Mokgetsu didn't think the students would understand his lectures on Wood Release. Studying Bloodline Limits was as much an art as it was science, and it was hard to generalize.

The next day, the disciples proactively invited Mokgetsu to be the referee for their internal battles.

As everyone's strength increased, injuries became inevitable when deciding outcomes, and having Mokgetsu present was more reassuring.

Of course, from the beginning, Kakashi and the others couldn't hide from Mokgetsu. Since there hadn't been any incidents, Mokgetsu didn't reveal himself.

Mokgetsu felt that regular internal battles were indeed a good way to motivate the disciples to train harder.

"Still a bit short, it would be perfect if I had a little more time," Kakashi sighed softly.

His Armament was still stuck at the very last point, able to be used, but not consistently.

This was a fatal flaw for the explosively powerful Kakashi. If he couldn't execute his full-force strike, it would be as if he hadn't mastered Armament.

"Shisui, this time, I will be the winner," Obito said confidently, having thoroughly studied Shisui's detailed information through the night.

This time, with information and no carelessness, his odds of defeating Shisui were above ninety percent.

"Obito, how do you know you'll draw Shisui as your opponent?" Kakashi looked at Obito in surprise.

They were drawing lots for random battles with no fixed opponents.

Prompted by Kakashi's reminder, Obito's face stiffened.

Although slightly panicked inside, Obito kept a bold front.

"I will win, no matter who the opponent is." Obito seemed to have already reserved the first place.

"You will win." Kakashi mimicked Obito's expression from three months ago as he recalled.

As Nohara Rin covered her mouth and giggled, Obito's face gradually turned rosy.

"Three months to the east, and three months to the west; Kakashi, don't underestimate my growth during this time!" Obito said loudly.

Kakashi just smiled without speaking. Practicing together every day, how could he not know the extent of Obito's progress?

Mokgetsu coughed lightly twice and began helping the disciples draw lots.

"Please don't be Guy, please don't be Guy..." Obito clasped his hands and prayed silently.

It wasn't that he feared Might Guy, but the punishment for losing the first round. Might Guy was the opponent with the lowest winning rate for him; he'd rather fight Kakashi.

After the last battle, Obito thought about how he could beat Might Guy, only to find it too difficult and with too harsh conditions.

"Obito versus Kakashi, Shisui versus Guy," Mokgetsu announced the draw results.

Obito exhaled in relief. Facing Kakashi, his chances weren't as good as against Shisui, but better than against Might Guy, which was a small blessing amid misfortune.

Shisui and Might Guy locked eyes, and suddenly a significant pressure emerged.

In the last internal battle, he had lost to Might Guy, allowing him to hold the strongest disciple title for three months.

Obito and Kakashi stood facing each other, forming the Seal of Opposition, both of their gazes burning with fighting spirit.

Neither of them wanted to lose this battle, not just because of the punishment but also for personal reasons.

"How can I lose to you under Rin's gaze?" Feeling Nohara Rin's gaze, Obito exerted 120% of his power.

There was no carelessness or complacency this time, with Obito maintaining caution the whole time, not falling into Kakashi's battle traps.

They exchanged blows back and forth, with Fire Release and dazzling Lighting Release Blade Techniques continuously sparking.

Kakashi casually wiped the fine sweat from his forehead due to the hot flame, constantly dodging the incoming high-temperature flames.

Obito pushed the Sharingan to its limits to prevent being caught off guard by Kakashi's high-speed strikes.

Their comprehensive abilities were evenly matched; after numerous struggles, neither could completely overwhelm the other.

Under the pressure from Obito, when Kakashi attempted to use Armament for the third time, he suddenly gained an insight, successfully mastering Armament at the entry level, no longer relying on luck or feeling.

"Kakashi wins!" Mokgetsu announced the battle result after the final clash of fire and lightning and, together with Nohara Rin, treated the two.

[Disciple Hatake Kakashi has made certain improvements in his comprehensive abilities under your guidance, earning a reward—Thunder Flash · Divine Speed (Master Level)]

Images of the Lighting Release Blade Technique immediately filled Mokgetsu's mind.

Mokgetsu was not unfamiliar with this skill; it was a Breath of Thunder move from "Demon Slayer," the ultimate form of Thunder Flash. Extremely fast in speed and great in power, it was perfect for the current Kakashi.

Receiving treatment, Obito kept his head down, daring not to face Nohara Rin, worried about seeing a disappointed expression on her face.

This time, there was no excuse for Obito's failure as he had given his all, without any underestimation or carelessness.

"I will win no matter who the opponent is." Sensing Obito's disappointment, Kakashi imitated once more.

"Damn Kakashi!" Unrestrainable, Obito suddenly raised his head and cursed at Kakashi.

At the moment of lifting his head, Obito noticed the expression beside him on Nohara Rin's face was not disappointment, as he feared, but encouragement and care.
