Might Guy once executed missions with Kakashi and Obito during his time as an intern ninja. Both being disciples of Mokgetsu, Kakashi wasn't worried that Might Guy joining the team would affect the overall coordination.
However, with the addition of Shiranui Genma and Ebisu, Kakashi decided after careful consideration to maintain the current status and complete a B-Class mission to harmonize the team before leveling up their missions.
Kakashi didn't need Shiranui Genma and Ebisu to make a huge contribution. After all, the strength gap was there, and Kakashi was mainly concerned that lack of coordination might bring negative impact to the team.
Neither Shiranui Genma nor Ebisu were the type who were clumsy yet eager to play; they conscientiously assisted others without recklessly rushing in to show off during battles. Over a few days, their coordination improved considerably.
"Teaming up with you guys is really pleasant. The mission is completed before you know it. I really wish we could keep teaming up," Shiranui Genma said jokingly.
This was actually a genuine thought of Shiranui Genma to some extent; teaming up with Kakashi and the others was indeed easier than doing D-Class missions in Konoha.
Since the enemies weren't even enough for their main force, the core members barely had a chance to act, let alone the support; it was like they earned rewards just for showing up.
"Hahaha, after all, we are an elite squad," Obito's face lit up with a proud smile.
Although their ninja level was still only Chunin, the combined strength of their four-member squad had long surpassed that of a regular squad led by a Jonin.
"I'll make sure Teacher Chen hears your suggestion," Ebisu said in a wistful tone.
Shiranui Genma's face froze for a moment, then he laughed awkwardly, "Such a small matter doesn't need to be reported to him."
Having been taught by Teacher Chen for so long, Shiranui Genma knew Teacher Chen's temperament well. Reporting that would undoubtedly earn him a knock on the head.
Teacher Chen was not one to put on airs; he was very amiable, but he had his own set of requirements regarding the growth of his disciples.
They were not required to accomplish tasks beyond their abilities, but they couldn't enjoy the fruits of the mission as mere bystanders.
Shiranui Genma understood that it wasn't Teacher Chen's rigid belief against reaping unearned rewards, but that it was detrimental to their growth.
After all, at Teacher Chen's age, he still publicly read that kind of book; he certainly had nothing to do with being rigid, right?
After completing two B-Class missions, Kakashi felt the synchronization was adequate and began taking on A-Class missions.
In between, something worth mentioning happened; they met Might Guy's father, Might Duy, at the camp.
Combining the experiences from the camp with the actual situation on the battlefield, Kakashi had a premonition that a large-scale ninja war was about to erupt on the east coast of the Land of Fire.
Konoha not only deployed a signature powerhouse like Orochimaru but also summoned a considerable number of Jonin and Chunin. Even low-key powerhouses like Mokgetsu were dispatched, clearly indicating something big was about to happen.
Kakashi wasn't too worried as their ninja level wouldn't allow them to take on significant combat missions; they should have no problem protecting themselves in the chaos.
"Finally starting A-Class missions, I hope we encounter stronger enemies this time," Obito said, clenching his fists with a look of eager excitement.
Hearing Obito's words, Kakashi paused, "This isn't an ordinary mission; in wartime tasks, we might encounter formidable enemies beyond our capacity."
Kakashi didn't want Obito to keep such a mindset on the battlefield; it could easily lead to problems.
"I'm not Kakashi, you know. It won't be like those unexpected mishaps for me, right?" Obito believed he couldn't possibly have Kakashi's luck with mishaps.
Kakashi's record was, after all, four consecutive missions with unforeseen incidents; in the most severe case, they stumbled into a thousand-ninja battle.
Kakashi looked at Obito with a speechless expression. Major mishaps indeed weren't common, but that wasn't the point. He just wanted Obito to adjust his mindset.
"I mean, you should be more serious and careful toward warfare. It's not that I'm saying the mission will inevitably have unexpected incidents," Kakashi explained helplessly.
Obito scratched his head, seeming to understand, but maybe not fully.
Seeing this, Kakashi gave up on explaining; he came to appreciate Mokgetsu's incredible teaching ability once again.
That Mokgetsu could teach someone like Obito to pass a theoretical exam was truly a divine teaching capability.
If it were Kakashi, he would probably collapse in frustration before Obito even got tired of it.
The mission proceeded smoothly; Kakashi and his team managed to find the enemies described in their mission: one Hidden Mist Jonin, two Hidden Mist Chunin, and two Hidden Mist Genin.
However, not long after the battle began, the keen Kakashi suddenly sensed something and immediately retreated.
Whoosh whoosh!!
Two kunai charged with electricity sliced through the air, piercing the ground where Kakashi had just been standing.
"He actually dodged it." Kurosuki Raiga said, slightly surprised.
It was embarrassing for someone as reputable as a member of the Seven-Swords Ninja to miss an attack on what appeared to be a ten-year-old boy, despite all circumstances.
As Kurosuki Raiga expected, his teammate unceremoniously laughed at him.
"Kurosuki Raiga, didn't you eat enough on the way here?" Jinin Akebino laughed out loud.
Kurosuki Raiga's face darkened but he didn't explain; the earlier attack was indeed a bit embarrassing.
The unexpected twist made Obito and others pause their attacks and vigilantly scan their surroundings.
