Kakashi looked at Might Guy with a deadpan expression, "You call running into me at my doorstep a coincidence?"
"Let's not dwell on trivial matters like that. How about an intense, exhilarating battle full of youthful energy!" Might Guy gave Kakashi a thumbs up, laughing as he issued the challenge.
He couldn't wait to share the power of the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode with Kakashi.
"Compared to what I have to do next, sparring is what's trivial." Kakashi directly refused.
Right now, he had no confidence in beating Might Guy, and Kakashi didn't want to just get beaten.
Might Guy's expression turned serious. More important than sparring, could it be...
"Kakashi, when did you get an incurable disease? Don't give up, let's go find Lady Tsunade together," Might Guy encouraged.
Kakashi couldn't hold it anymore; he was just about to go out and buy some groceries, but now he supposedly has an incurable disease.
"Guy, you should spend less time with Obito in the future. Your comprehension skills are already quite far from normal," Kakashi advised.
Might Guy scratched his head in confusion, not understanding the connection between what Kakashi said and what he was thinking.
"If you have nothing else, then head back. I'm going to buy groceries." With that, Kakashi was ready to leave.
"What, the important thing is buying groceries?" Might Guy's eyes widened in disbelief.
Kakashi paused, his expression calm as he nodded. Buying groceries was indeed more important than getting beaten up.
"How can buying groceries be more important than battling?" Might Guy found it hard to accept, having come with such passion and vigor.
"It depends on the time. Right now, buying groceries is indeed a bit more important," Kakashi replied.
If it were the Might Guy who hadn't yet mastered the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode, Kakashi might have some interest.
After all, pressure can transform into motivation, and battling a stronger opponent can stimulate one's growth to some extent.
But having witnessed the combination of the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode and the Eight Gates firsthand, Kakashi knew that the gap between them wasn't just minor; the disparity was too great, making a battle meaningless.
"But weren't you eager to fight me when I activated the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode?" Might Guy asked, confused.
This development was completely different from what he had imagined.
In Might Guy's imagination, he would challenge Kakashi, Kakashi would excitedly accept, and then they would fight intensely for three hundred rounds, with Might Guy ultimately winning, and Kakashi would gain something from the battle.
"I'm not eager right now," Kakashi said mercilessly. Who would look forward to getting beaten?
"Did I misremember what Obito said?" Might Guy scratched his head, deep in thought.
Kakashi's gaze turned sharp, picking out the keywords: what Obito said.
"What did Obito tell you?" Kakashi asked, acting nonchalantly.
"Didn't everyone gather to give you a gift for your promotion to Jonin? Before giving the gift, we convened, and at that time, Obito told me that you were eager to fight me at full strength," Might Guy recalled and explained.
Kakashi finally understood the situation; someone had stirred up trouble.
"Guy, you hadn't recovered well at that time and remembered wrong. I never said that, maybe it was Obito wanting to fight you," Kakashi thought and said.
"Really?" Might Guy was somewhat skeptical.
He was injured in his body, not his head, so how could he have remembered such a simple thing wrong?
"Of course, would I not remember what I said myself?" Kakashi countered.
"You've got a point, buddy," Might Guy said, a bit unsure of himself now.
"Since it's unclear, why not go ask Obito?" Kakashi suggested a clear path for Might Guy.
Might Guy nodded in realization and said farewell to Kakashi, heading to Obito's house, while Kakashi went shopping as planned.
After hearing Might Guy's question, Obito cursed Kakashi inwardly for being too cunning, his ability to shift blame was first-rate.
But Obito definitely didn't want to take the blame; Kakashi didn't want to get beaten, and neither did he. Might Guy once almost broke the Decapitating Carving Knife and nearly defeated Biwa Juzo with just one move of the Golden Horizon.
If it weren't for the other members of the Seven-Swords Ninja intervening, Biwa Juzo would have been dead.
"Maybe I misremembered. Sorry about that, Guy," Obito apologized with a silly smile.
Sending Might Guy back to Kakashi was definitely not an option. If Might Guy ended up believing Kakashi, it would be disastrous.
Might Guy could only return with regret, but he didn't waste the good weather and spent a rare day in cultivation.
The next day, Might Guy participated in the Jonin examination.
This time, unlike with Kakashi, besides Might Guy, there was only one other candidate.
However, the practical examiners were still Hyuga Hiashi and Mimura Hamaki.
After all, there were few idle Jonin in Konoha now, and even fewer had the qualifications to conduct the Jonin examination.
"A super genius who can battle four of the Seven-Swords Ninja." Thinking of Might Guy's achievements, Hyuga Hiashi felt a chill in his heart.
Although there were no kill achievements, facing four of the Seven-Swords Ninja, even if it were just simple stalling, showed extraordinary strength.
Even if Hyuga Hiashi himself went up, he wouldn't be a hundred percent sure he could achieve what Might Guy did; reducing the number to three, then Hyuga Hiashi felt confident.
"Hiashi, you're really going to have to work hard this time," Mimura Hamaki teased.
Might Guy had invested all his skill points into Taijutsu, so Sarutobi Hiruzen would obviously not arrange for the more Ninjutsu-proficient Mimura Hamaki to assess Might Guy.
With only two examiners, if it's not Mimura Hamaki, then it can only be Hyuga Hiashi.
"I will fulfill my duty as an examiner," Hyuga Hiashi prepared to go all out.
When assessing Kakashi, Hyuga Hiashi hadn't realized Kakashi's Taijutsu was so outstanding, so he didn't activate the Byakugan.
Might Guy was different. The intelligence on Might Guy was all about Taijutsu, and in combat, Might Guy hadn't used a single Ninjutsu.
"Might Guy, prepare for battle." As the referee announced Might Guy's name, both Might Guy and Hyuga Hiashi stepped into the battleground, ready to fight.
"Byakugan, it's been a while since I've encountered it," Might Guy remarked, looking at Hyuga Hiashi's pure white eyes, recalling an opponent from Ninja Academy.
That was also a respectable opponent. In the first semester of the fourth grade, Might Guy had undergone special training just to defeat him.
"Wasn't it Hyuga Daimon?" Might Guy pondered, recalling the opponent's name.
"Begin the battle!" the referee shouted when the two were ready.
Hearing the referee's voice, Might Guy instantly focused all his thoughts, his breathing becoming concentrated, his aura shifting rapidly.
"Eight Gates, Opening Gate, open! ... Fifth Gate, Limit Gate, open!"
The examiners had explained the rules very clearly before the exam began. In this simulated combat, they needed to demonstrate their best abilities, so Might Guy had no hesitation in focusing his breath and opening the Eight Gates to the Fifth Gate.
Without entering the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode, this was Might Guy's full strength.
Huff huff!!
At the moment the Five Gates opened, a massive amount of chakra surged from Might Guy's body, a powerful aura rose from him, creating an invisible air current that blew away the surrounding dust and leaves.
Hyuga Hiashi immediately activated his Byakugan, allowing him to clearly see the turbulent and powerful chakra within Might Guy's body through his Byakugan.
"No wonder he specializes in Taijutsu. In this state, even if he learned Ninjutsu, he wouldn't be able to use it," Hyuga Hiashi noticed the drawbacks of the Eight Gates.
With the current turbulent level of chakra in Might Guy's body, not to mention Ninjutsu, even some Taijutsu techniques requiring fine chakra control would be difficult to use.
Hyuga Hiashi did not underestimate Might Guy because of this. Such strong chakra, even if used in the simplest and most straightforward way to reinforce the body, could still have formidable power.
While technique is certainly useful, if the power is strong enough, one can overpower ten rounds with it.
