Mokgetsu estimated that to fully utilize the Tailed Beast Chakra, one must be completely recognized by the Tailed Beast, just like the relationship between Naruto and the Nine-tails.
"Retreat completely!" Karatachi Yagura ordered while the Three-tails was rampaging.
A rampaging Tailed Beast would launch indiscriminate attacks. They hadn't been attacked yet only because they were far enough away. If they didn't leave, they might end up eating a Tailed Beast Ball alongside the Konoha Ninja.

Orochimaru immediately used Wind Release to disperse the mist; among the five nature transformations, he was the most proficient in Wind Release Ninjutsu.
Orochimaru wouldn't let Karatachi Yagura escape so easily; with an advantage, it's crucial to eliminate the opponent's living forces as much as possible.
However, the massive tail of the Three-tails came crashing down, forcing Orochimaru, who was preparing to launch a Ninjutsu attack on the Hidden Mist, to evade.
Orochimaru understood the feelings of the Hidden Cloud Ninja when the Eight-tails went on a rampage.
"Manda, go and stop the Three-tails." Orochimaru thought of having Manda entangle with the Three-tails.
"Time's up, don't forget my sacrifices." Manda ignored Orochimaru and returned directly to Ryuchi Cave.
Manda wasn't foolish; fighting a fully formed Tailed Beast wasn't a joke, and taking a Tailed Beast Ball meant at least shedding a layer of skin.

Ninja below Jonin had a very slim survival chance in a battle with Tailed Beasts; even the aftermath could be deadly for them.
Yamanaka Inoichi nodded slightly and used the Secret Techniques of the Yamanaka Clan to quickly convey the message across the battlefield.
"All Chunin and below ninjas, retreat to the northwest direction." Yamanaka Inoichi's voice suddenly appeared in the ninjas' minds.
The northwest direction led towards Konoha and was free from enemies because the Konoha Ninja Squad frequently patrolled and secured this area extensively.
Obito heard Yamanaka Inoichi's voice and instinctively started moving northwest until he noticed none of Mokgetsu's disciples were moving.

Obito felt a bit conflicted; not leaving would be disobedience to military orders, but he couldn't leave the combat area alone, as it would mean abandoning his companions.

However, the Three-tails was a relatively ordinary Tailed Beast, and on site, there was Orochimaru, the Ino-Shika-Cho, and a group of Konoha Jonin. With no Hidden Mist Ninja to assist the Three-tails, it would clearly lose the battle.

The Three-tails' massive body slammed into the ground, creating a huge crater.
The other Konoha Jonin took the opportunity to launch a fierce assault on the Three-tails, leaving small wounds on its vulnerable parts.
The Three-tails was thoroughly enraged, roaring skyward, and a terrifying, frenzied Chakra swept across the battlefield, determined to kill everyone here at any cost.
"Keep your distance; it might use a Tailed Beast Ball." Orochimaru calmly directed.
Even if they couldn't destroy large segments of the Hidden Mist Squad, taking down a Jinchuriki was a worthy accomplishment.
Then Orochimaru looked at Mokgetsu, "Mokgetsu-kun, now it's time for you and me to exert our full strength."
To defeat a fully formed Tailed Beast, it's impossible to rely on ordinary Jonin for surface-level damage; the strong are the main forces of output.
Jiraiya had once driven off two Jinchuriki with the help of Namikaze Minato and several elite Jonin, and Orochimaru believed that with himself, Mokgetsu, and a group of Konoha Jonin assisting, killing a Jinchuriki was not a problem.
