Due to most of Yokokawa Tsutomu's confidants being devoured by the Box of Bliss, Ryuhi quickly took control of the Grass Village with the Grass Flower, becoming the temporary leader of the Grass Village.
After becoming the leader, Ryuhi immediately provided an explanation for the events in the village.
Former leader Yokokawa Tsutomu took an evil path by conducting forbidden research, which ultimately led to an experiment gone wrong, turning him into an inhuman monster. He slaughtered many Grass Ninjas, and it was only with the help of the justice-driven Konoha Ninjas that they managed to defeat the monstrous Yokokawa Tsutomu and protect the Grass Village.
To thank Konoha for their assistance, the Grass Village would next sign a friendship treaty with Konoha and become an ally of Konoha.
Now the people of the Grass Village finally knew who the hero that killed the monster was. It turned out to be the renowned Blazing Sun Mokgetsu of the Ninja World.
Thinking about the Grass Village soon becoming friendly with such a top-tier Ninja Village as Konoha, the villagers felt that the Grass Village was thriving.
Of course, there were still a few who believed that Ryuhi had conspired with outsiders to seize power, and that it was all part of their plot.
For such baseless conspiracy theorists, Ryuhi would usually lock them up for a few days to clear their heads.
While Ryuhi was handling the affairs of the Grass Village, Mokgetsu communicated the current task information and prepared for the next step.
The specific treaty negotiations obviously wouldn't be their responsibility. At that time, Sarutobi Hiruzen would dispatch a special team.
However, this didn't mean that the current Grass Ninjas wouldn't need to assist Konoha in battle as allies.
The Grass Village needed to order the Grass Ninjas to backstab the Hidden Rock, assisting Konoha in gaining an advantage on the battlefield.
Compensation can be discussed later, but assisting in battle must happen immediately.
Meanwhile, Mokgetsu and the others couldn't just sit idly by. They had to act as a surprise force to aid the Konoha Ninja Squad, striving to crush the Hidden Rock Squad in one go.
Before leaving the Grass Village, Mokgetsu spoke with Uzumaki Karei, identifying himself as a Konoha Ninja.
"The Uzumaki Clan has always been an ally of Konoha. If you need, after I complete my mission, I can take you back to Konoha, where it will be much safer than the Grass Village, away from the disruptions of war," Mokgetsu said straightforwardly.
Although, in his view, there wasn't truly a safe place in the entire Ninja World at the moment, if compared, Konoha was indeed a relatively safe place to live in the Ninja World.
Even when besieged by several Great Ninja Villages, the flames of war hadn't reached Konoha. At most, they penetrated the Land of Fire.
Ordinary people living in Konoha could essentially live a peaceful life, as long as they didn't encounter incidents like Pain's arrival carrying rice.
Not to say life was great, but it was stable.
Uzumaki Karei showed hesitation. She didn't know much about Konoha, having only occasionally heard adults talk about such clan allies in her childhood.
But that was a long-lost memory. Uzumaki Karei only remembered hearing that Konoha was very powerful, with many Ninja Clans and the like.
Uzumaki Karei wasn't sure if Konoha was a good place to go; whether her Uzumaki identity and special physique would bring trouble.
"Additionally, I have a friend who's also an Uzumaki Clan ninja, quite similar to you. Perhaps the two of you will have some common ground," Mokgetsu briefly mentioned the existence of Kushina.
Currently, in the Ninja World, the surviving members of the Uzumaki Clan were few and far between. Mokgetsu thought introducing Uzumaki Karei to Kushina would be beneficial for both parties.
"Please take care of that when the time comes," Uzumaki Karei agreed to Mokgetsu without hesitation upon hearing there was a clan ninja in Konoha.
Being in an unfamiliar environment, no matter how others described that place as great, she would still feel uneasy.
But if there's a fellow clansman, it would be different. Given the current state of the Uzumaki Clan, any clan member could be considered family to her.
After concluding the affairs in the Grass Village, Mokgetsu swiftly led the squad to the Konoha Ninja Camp in the Land of Grass.
"Mokgetsu, you finally arrived! With you and Minato, the two strongest forces of Konoha's new era lending your support, I suppose I can soon take a break and rest," Jiraiya said, laughing as he patted Mokgetsu on the shoulder.
As the leader of the Ninja Squad, Jiraiya had long received the news that Mokgetsu would support the battlefield.
Jiraiya then looked at Mokgetsu's ninja squad members, nodding subconsciously; they were all fairly competent ninjas.
When he saw Obito, Jiraiya couldn't help but speak, "Goggles kid, call me 'grand mentor' and let me hear you."
This was Jiraiya's second encounter with Obito on the battlefield; the first was when Obito experienced an unexpected incident during a C-rank war mission.
Back then, Obito had left a deep impression on Jiraiya; despite Jiraiya being a legitimate Immortal, Obito refused to acknowledge it, stubbornly giving him the nickname 'Toad Uncle.'
Now that Obito had become Minato's student, and Minato was Jiraiya's student, by hierarchy, Jiraiya indeed could be called Obito's grand mentor.
Upon hearing Jiraiya's request, Obito was unwilling. If Jiraiya had said something pleasing, maybe he would have relented and agreed, but Jiraiya's demeanor was clearly delusional.
"Oh, hello, Toad Uncle," Obito responded without holding back.
Jiraiya raised an eyebrow, "Pick one, Toad Sage or Grand Mentor, just call me by one of them and I'll forgive you."
"Alright, Toad Uncle," Obito nodded and replied.
It was absolutely impossible for him to acknowledge Jiraiya as an Immortal; in his heart, only Sage Mokgetsu and the Six Paths Sage could be called Immortals.
"Come to think of it, the camp's logistics task seems to be missing a person. Well, in that case, the sanitation of the camp will be assigned to you, Goggles kid," Jiraiya threatened.
