Cherreads

Chapter 971 - Chapter 472: The Yang Seal Passed Down, Zorua Evolves (Part 2)

Fortunately, the soaring temperature came and went quickly. A few minutes later, the sunny day disappeared and quickly returned to normal temperature.

"Even I had to concentrate for a long time to learn, can Charizard learn Sunny Day Jutsu?" Obito was skeptical about Charizard's ability to learn Sunny Day smoothly.

Using Sunny Day at night is like using Great Divine Power to forcibly bring light into the darkness, and it can also weaken Water Release while enhancing Fire Release.

Such a cool and powerful Ninjutsu was naturally something Obito wanted to learn, but Teacher Mokgetsu rejected him, saying the time spent wasn't proportional to the benefits gained.

Obito didn't believe that Charizard's talent in Fire Release was better than his.

Initially, Obito's speed in cultivating Fire Release was quite average compared to Shisui, but with the awakening of his bloodline limit and the improvement of his Breath of Flame, his speed increased significantly.

Meanwhile, Charizard struggled even with learning a Great Fireball, seeming not too bright.

As if sensing Obito's thoughts, Charizard gave Obito a glare.

Today, you, Obito, look down on it, but in the future, when it learns Sunny Day, you'll be begging it to use it!

"Not only to learn it but to master it," Charizard thought to itself quietly.

It had already planned how to deal with Obito; it would hang a Sunny Day over his head while he slept to warm him up.

To avoid disturbing Obito's grandmother's sleep, it would strictly control the range within Obito's room.

Thus, Charizard was determined to work hard and learn Sunny Day with Mokgetsu.

Mokgetsu looked at his disciples and their Pokemon diligently cultivating and nodded in satisfaction. It was yet another harmonious day in the Southern Border Forest.

...

After the afternoon's training, Shisui returned home and started preparing dinner.

As usual, after taking Zorua out for a stroll, Shisui returned home to the courtyard to begin his training.

It wasn't until eleven at night that Shisui finally stopped to take a bath and rest.

"Shisui, you seem even more diligent than usual recently; apart from eating and sleeping, you're almost always training," said Zorua, stretching its body beside him.

"There's actually no need to work so hard, right? Didn't your teacher also say that cultivation should balance work and rest?"

Seeing Shisui training so hard, Zorua was worried that Shisui's body couldn't handle it.

After all, humans aren't as robust as their Pokemon, and are relatively fragile.

"With Teacher Mokgetsu's Secret Medicine, I don't need to worry about my body, plus, to realize my ideas, strength is indispensable," Shisui said, wiping the sweat from his forehead and patting Zorua's head.

"Thank you for your concern. Once the Police Department's matters are settled, I'll return to my previous training rhythm."

The clan meeting was approaching, and Shisui was preparing to make a big move during it, so he had to improve his strength as much as possible.

If all goes well, Shisui wouldn't even need to showcase his strength.

If things didn't go well and there were stubborn or deliberately disruptive Uchiha, Shisui would make them realize that the times have changed.

He and Obito were no longer just mere geniuses.

"So, Shisui, you are eager to become stronger?" Zorua stood up.

"Yes, I want to become as strong as possible during this period."

"I really can't handle you." Zorua looked at Shisui with a helpless expression.

Shisui lightly flicked Zorua's head with his finger, as if Zorua were taking care of and pampering him, flipping sky and earth upside down.

Shisui didn't use much force; he applied pressure equivalent to a tickle, so Zorua still had a grinning face.

"Shisui, watch me closely and memorize my cute appearance in your heart," Zorua said with a smile as it leaped from the porch outside into the courtyard in front of Shisui.

After speaking, Zorua stood still, watching Shisui.

A minute later, Zorua no longer suppressed the Power of Evolution within itself, allowing the dazzling white light to envelop its body.

It loved to play pranks but wasn't lazy; it completed all necessary training.

In fact, Zorua had helped Shisui by taking the stage to battle in the Martial Arts Tournament quarter-finals to defeat the opponents.

On the first day back to Konoha, Zorua could have really evolved.

However, it forcefully suppressed the power of evolution because it didn't want to evolve.

Because once it evolves, it might become a large stature like Charizard or Milotic, and then how could Shisui hold it, or how could it perch on Shisui's shoulder?

Its Transformation was essentially Genjutsu, unable to change its real body shape or weight. If it evolved and still clung onto Shisui, it might just exhaust Shisui.

But Zorua understood priorities, and Shisui needed strength, so it had to evolve to better protect him.

"Is that really so?" Shisui's expression was complex.

He had previously guessed that Zorua hadn't evolved because it didn't want to.

After all, Zorua was not inferior to other Pokemon, and it wasn't born late; there was no reason for it to lag behind so many other Pokemon.

When the white light dissipated, the much taller Zoroark appeared before Shisui.

Compared to the Zorua phase, the evolved Zoroark had undergone significant changes, far beyond merely growing larger.

Zoroark no longer walked on all fours, but walked upright like a human.

The red mane from Zorua now covered its back, and its fur was so lush that one might worry it would hinder its movements.

Furthermore, Zoroark's forearms and legs had sharp red claws, adding a touch of sharpness.

"Now I realize you're really small, Shisui; should I call you Little Shisui?" Zoroark teased, gently tapping Shisui's head with its paw.

Now nine years old, Shisui faced a Zoroark that stood 1.7 meters tall; to Zoroark, Shisui was like a child in the eyes of an adult.

After evolving, Zoroark found it wasn't so bad; although Shisui couldn't hold it anymore, it could now lift Shisui high, something it couldn't do previously.

"Stop messing around." Shisui looked at Zoroark, now extending its hands with a mischievous grin toward him.

Perhaps because its body had grown bigger or appeared more mature, Zorua's mischievous grin before it caused trouble lost some of its previous cuteness.

Even if it could now physically overshadow Shisui after evolution, faced with Shisui, who had incubated and cared for it all this time, Zoroark quickly corrected its stance when Shisui became serious.

No longer coarse and careless as before.

"Try your Genjutsu on me," Shisui suggested after considering.

Genjutsu was an innate ability for Zorua, mastered from the moment of birth, and evolution meant an all-round enhancement for Pokemon. Logically speaking, Zorua's Genjutsu should be very strong now.

"Hee hee, actually Shisui, you've already fallen under Genjutsu! I'm still Zorua and haven't evolved at all; I just used Genjutsu to trick you!" Zoroark boasted with a sly grin.

Now, looking at Zoroark again, Shisui saw it revert to the four-legged Zorua form.

"I can't sense the feeling of being under Genjutsu at all." Shisui was amazed.

Even without using the Sharingan, Shisui was a Genjutsu expert, skilled in both casting and dispelling it.

Yet, he hadn't the slightest inkling he'd fallen for Zoroark's Genjutsu just moments earlier.

"Try again." Shisui suggested, activating the Three Tomoe Sharingan.

The Sharingan amplifies Genjutsu abilities, and in its state, Shisui's resistance to Genjutsu is significantly heightened.

"Heh, Little Shisui, watch carefully and see how great Lord Zoroark is!" boasted Zoroark confidently in Shisui's mind.

In the blink of an eye, Shisui saw the Zorua in front of him rapidly grow into a giant, larger than the house itself, seeming ready to expand further and crush the house.

"Just this Genjutsu alone is strong enough."

Realizing that even with his Three Tomoe Sharingan, he would instantly fall into Zoroark's Genjutsu, only being able to break it with careful analysis.

This level of Genjutsu was already sufficient because, among the Uchiha, apart from Uchiha Fugaku who was uncertain, none surpassed Shisui in Genjutsu.
