Chapter 1 - The Goddess In Black

A woman could be seen with a wine glass in her hand, black as night hair with glowing purple snake-like eyes and pale skin. She wore a black dress that showed her hourglass figure underneath.

Behind her—a throne like chair, covered in an ash scale pattern with snakes crawling downwards towards the obsidian colored floor that had cracks that revealed a greenish light blue and purple light.

This did not however reflect the sky, it was sunless and moonless but dark purple in light with black clouds. Stirring awake on the floor Indra could be seen slowly sitting up with clear confusion written on his face.

"W-Where am I?" He asked aloud while noticing he and the woman were the only two people around "Who are you?" Indra asked while the woman continued to stare at him with her glass in hand. "Who I am doesn't matter as much as who you are." She said while crossing her legs.

"You still haven't transformed into your true self yet—how strange." The woman spoke aloud while taking another sip, Indra slowly began to stand while looking down at his stomach 'No stab wounds?…' He thought while remembering his last moments.

"What do you mean by that?" Indra asked as the woman gave a loud hum "You are an important figure here in this realm, which is why I brought you here upon your death." The woman said while slowly making her way towards him.

"You must have me mistaken for someone else…I'm no one important." Indra began while looking away in sadness "Who you were in that other world was only a shell of who you really are, you just need some help getting there." She said while locking eyes with him.

"Reveal yourself to me." The woman said as Indra could feel his chest heating up, her words echoing in his mind. "What the hell?" Indra said aloud while dropping to his knees, heart beating loudly in his ears 'What is this!?' He thought inwardly, while his arms and legs began to grow black scales in patches.

His finger nails sharpened while his raven black hair grew longer, two almost ram like horns grew on the side of his head and a smooth obsidian black tail with scales, wings that nearly looked like a cluster of shadows.

"Finally, you look as you should." The woman said as the sound of shattering glass could be heard behind her, in walked through a portal was a man with smooth obsidian skin that was fractured by faint glowing gold lines. One of his eyes a bright gold and the other a pitch black.

"You'd dare barge in here?" She said aloud while turning to face him fully "You must be extremely confident because of your status, I wouldn't have expected this type of behavior out of you." The woman said as the man began floating over to her as glowing glyphs of a dead language could be seen circling him.

"I'm not here to cause trouble, Ward of the Goddess." He said while stoping a few feet from her "I'm here because of him." They both took a quick glance over to Indra "I want to transfer my power and essence into him." The woman raised a brow at his comment "And why would you want to do something like that?" Suspicion clear in her tone.

"I've lived for a long time, I'm just simply ready to fade. I hope as someone not of my status you can understand my wishes." He said while bowing his head slightly "Is your Emanation okay with this? I can only imagine what kind of conversation had to have been had." The man could only stare at her.

"Do you accept my request or not?" He asked as the woman gave a slow nod allowing him to move past her as the man placed his hand atop Indra's head, still dazed from the transformation.

Indra's breathing immediately hitched upon contact with this unknown power, memories—lives, endless…violent lives began to flash before his eyes. The world burning underneath him over and over, strange figures kneeling to him in silence.

"AAH!!" Indra's body arched as a shockwave tore outward, cracking the obsidian floor beneath him. "Careful," the woman said. "If you continue to force yourself, you'll destroy him." But the man continued on in silence.

The shockwaves continued for what felt like forever until suddenly they stopped and the man that stood before them was gone, the woman slowly strides toward Indra with his vision now blurry "I wish I had more time to talk to you, but in time all will be revealed." The woman said as the floor under Indra opened up revealing a vast forest.

"Damn." One groggy word was all he could muster as he felt strong winds before the darkness claimed his vision.
