Chapter 592 - Chapter 145: Life Is Like a Play (Double-Length)

The fourth Quasi-God Pokémon of this tournament.

Originally, Natsuhiko wasn't sure if Karin had a Quasi-God Pokémon. Logically, she should have a Goodra from the Kalos Region.

However, in previous battles, she hadn't summoned this Pokémon.

Even in the last round, Lance, Hilona, and Flint all summoned their ace Quasi-Gods, but Karin did not. Her other main Pokémon was basically Lucario.

It's not that Karin is stronger than Hilona and the others; it also depends on the opponent and which Pokémon to send out.

Yet.

The appearance of Togekiss and its feat of "Ten-Blade Slash" left Karin somewhat baffled.

Send out Lucario from the Fighting Type again?

Even if it's not going to repeat Gardevoir's mistake.

So out of desperation, Karin could only send out Goodra to face the battle.

It was obvious that Karin's Goodra seemed to be a relatively late addition to her team. Although at Gym Leader Level and evolved to its final form, it still seemed a bit weaker compared to Lance's Dragonite, Hilona's Garchomp, and Flint's Shiny Golem.

This is probably why Karin hadn't sent it out to battle before.

Because its strength might not necessarily be stronger than Lucario or Gardevoir.

Karin then showed a helpless expression, "Natsuhiko, did your Pokémon just evolve?"

Too?

Natsuhiko had a thought.

"Is Karin's Goodra also like that?"

Karin nodded, gently patting the slightly awkward Goodra on the back, with a complex expression saying, "This child also evolved just last night."

This indeed explains why Karin hadn't let Goodra come out to fight before.

It's just that both are newly evolved Pokémon; Togekiss had already demonstrated its capability to adapt to the state and the battle, but Goodra remained an unknown factor.

A Dragon-type Goodra battling a Fairy-type Togekiss?

This could potentially expose Togekiss's Fairy Type properties.

Natsuhiko hadn't considered the issue of revealing the Fairy Type.

The evolution of Togekiss had already caused quite a stir, and if the Fairy Type was revealed now, it would be no exaggeration to say it would cause a sensation worldwide.

Then, Natsuhiko and Togekiss would become the center of the storm.

Although he wanted to use the fame from this tournament to bring more popularity to the dojo he was planning to open.

The emergence of the Fairy Type would have too great an impact.

Especially for a group of Dragon-type Trainers.

Of course, a certain person who claims to be a Dragon-type but is actually a Flying-type Trainer doesn't count.

But it would certainly have a huge impact and influence on the Dragon-type Pokémon in the Pokémon Realm and Trainers keen on Dragon-type Pokémon.

There might be some more radical and powerful Dragon-type Trainers who could come to trouble Natsuhiko.

In layman's terms, Natsuhiko currently cannot withstand the impact of such a major event.

All things considered, Natsuhiko is still just a relatively famous young Trainer.

Moreover...

Natsuhiko glanced at Karin opposite him.

He made a decision in his heart.

Gave Togekiss a signal.

This was what they had discussed last night to avoid some fairy issues.

Togekiss understood, giving Natsuhiko a reassuring look.

"Let me see all of your strength, Miss Karin," Natsuhiko said with a smile after receiving Togekiss's response.

Karin also smiled slightly.

She could probably already feel that this round might be the end of her journey in this competition.

She only had a newly evolved Goodra, while Natsuhiko had three Pokémon—a slightly injured Alakazam, a wounded but battle-ready Togekiss, and one Pokémon that hadn't been sent out yet.

At this stage, competitors might not have close-level strength, but it was impossible to sweep with one against three.

However, Karin did not place too much importance on this pursuit; she enjoyed being with Pokémon, then acting in movies, and finally, Pokémon battles.

Taking a deep breath, she said, "Alright!"

The battle continued.

This round, due to Togekiss's earlier shocking "Ten-Blade Slash," had already reached the peak of interest in the tournament. Countless people rushed to their TVs and computers outside, wanting to see if Togekiss's abilities were really that "abnormal."

"Goodra, 100,000 Volts!"

Karin stopped overthinking and focused on the battle.

"Goodra!!"

They saw Goodra suddenly burst forth with streams of golden ongoing current, transforming into a beam of light, and blasting towards the airborne Togekiss.

Goodra is typically strong in Special Defense, decent in Special Attack, but lacks Physical Attack ability.

And to deal with the Flying-type Togekiss, the Electric Type "100,000 Volts" was a reasonable choice.

Natsuhiko initially thought Karin might have Goodra use Dragon-type Techniques to decide the outcome, but he didn't expect the opening move to be "100,000 Volts."

However, it didn't make him panic.

"Divine Speed, dodge it!"

"Togekiss!"

Togekiss let out a low cry, gently fluttering its wings, and its body emitted a white glow as its speed instantly reached its peak.

To the naked eye, it appeared as a white flash skimming past the beam of "100,000 Volts," skillfully dodging the attack while tracing a beautiful arc in mid-air, heading towards Goodra.
