Chapter 831 - Chapter 77: Rayquaza! (Double-Length) (Part 2)

It was just that she had no idea that was a Super Evolution Stone, nor did she know what it was for.

As for why Darkrai had found him...

Natsuhiko actually wasn't clear on that either.

He even had a ridiculous thought flash through his mind right then.

Could I really be the "Child of Prophecy"?

But this sure as hell isn't the Ninja World, how could things be that mystical.

Natsuhiko pressed his lips together.

Since they're so sure, then let's give it a try.

Anyway, if he wasn't, he probably wouldn't be able to connect to Rayquaza.

Then the "Meteor People" would probably realize they'd misunderstood Natsuhiko.

"What do I need to do?" Natsuhiko asked.

"Although there's still some discrepancy between now and the time mentioned in the prophecy of the millennial meteor, if the ancient 'Earth God' and 'Sea God' really have revived, the Dragon God will appear as well. It doesn't actually conflict with the millennial pact."

Granny Long muttered to herself.

Then she looked at Natsuhiko.

"Grab it and call upon the Dragon God." The clouded eyes regained their luster.

Natsuhiko glanced at the resolute Granny Long and at the slightly hopeful gazes of the "Meteor People" in the tree hollow, then looked at the Grass Green Treasure Pearl quietly resting on the pedestal.

After a slight hesitation.

He strode forward.

Under everyone's gaze, he slowly reached his hand toward the Grass Green Treasure Pearl.

He didn't encounter any resistance.

His hand closed around it.

It was icy cold to the touch, but after that chill, faint threads of warmth seeped through.

A strange power flowed out from the Treasure Pearl into Natsuhiko's body.

And then...

And then nothing.

Natsuhiko looked at Granny Long somewhat blankly.

But he saw her brow deeply furrowed as she said in a low voice, "To call upon the Dragon God, your mind must be pure and devout."

Natsuhiko took a deep breath.

He slowly closed his eyes.

Silently, he called out in his heart:

"Rayquaza."

All of a sudden.

One of the Pokeballs on Natsuhiko's body popped open, and out of the red light appeared Latios.

Latios came out looking completely confused.

It didn't even know how it had ended up out here.

Seeing Latios appear, surprise flickered across Genji's face, while Granny Long and Dracoflame and the others all broke into smiles.

And he still says he's not...

"Oss?"

They watched as.

A dense surge of Dragon Energy burst out from Latios's body, and within the blue-violet Dragon Energy were mixed faint, shimmering green energy ripples.

If Natsuhiko had his eyes open right now, he would definitely be reminded of.

Back when he'd taken a very pure green "Dragon Crystal" from the League's vault.

Back then Natsuhiko had wondered.

Could that green "Dragon Crystal" be related to Rayquaza?

But since there was no way to confirm it, he hadn't thought too deeply about it.

As for that "Dragon Crystal," a very small part of it had been used to awaken Dreepy when it was still just a fossil.

Most of what remained had been injected by Dreepy into Latios back when it was still a Pokemon Egg.

As Latios grew stronger, it had gradually digested, absorbed, and converted some of the Dragon Energy built up inside it into its own power.

But in truth, there was still a portion of energy buried in the deepest part of it that hadn't been absorbed.

Among that was a portion of the energy from that green "Dragon Crystal."

Now.

Under the pull of the Grass Green Treasure Pearl, that dormant energy hidden in Latios's body was released.

And the Dragon Energy buried within Latios in turn further stimulated the Grass Green Treasure Pearl.

Honestly.

Natsuhiko originally shouldn't have been able to trigger the Grass Green Treasure Pearl, but after that jolt from Latios's energy—

With his eyes tightly shut, Natsuhiko suddenly realized he could see.

In his field of vision.

Was a vast starry sky, a boundless universe, that rootless expanse stretching to infinity.

And what drew his gaze the most was, without question, the terrifying teal Giant Dragon before him, lowering its body to look at him.

Rayquaza!

The moment his gaze met Rayquaza's, Natsuhiko's breath hitched.

He forced a smile.

He'd never imagined he really would see Rayquaza.

Meanwhile, back in the tree hollow, seeing Natsuhiko and the Grass Green Treasure Pearl in his hand radiating a strange, seven-colored glow, Genji and the "Meteor People" became even more convinced.

The prophecy had said that without the "Child of Prophecy" the Dragon God could not be contacted.

Now that Natsuhiko had already stirred the Grass Green Treasure Pearl, even if he himself refused to admit it, the "Meteor People" weren't going to care what he thought anymore.

Just as the "Meteor People" were feeling excited about this.

Excited that after several thousand years, they could finally contact their "Dragon God" again—

Natsuhiko, on the other hand, felt a bit awkward, not quite knowing what to do.

He smiled at Rayquaza.

But Rayquaza didn't seem to give any response.

It simply stared at Natsuhiko for a long time, then suddenly raised its head to look toward some distant point in the starry sky.

Following its gaze.

Natsuhiko also saw what seemed to be a massive meteorite, "slowly" drawing closer to this place.

The "slowly" he perceived, of course, was different from what Rayquaza saw.

It was just that it was too far away for him to see clearly.

'Is that the meteorite from the millennial prophecy? With Deoxys inside it?' Natsuhiko thought to himself.

"Rooaaar——!!"

Then he heard Rayquaza let out a roar at that meteorite.

The terrifying sound echoed through the ozone layer, but could barely travel at all in the vacuum of space.

Natsuhiko's ears buzzed from the shock.

He had no idea what state he was in right now.

Had his body actually come to the ozone layer?

Or was he seeing Rayquaza through the power of the Grass Green Treasure Pearl?
