Kommo-o!
It's a Quasi-God Pokémon from the Alola Region, a Dragon Type and Fighting Type Pokémon, and the only Pokémon known to Natsuhiko with this type combination.
But what puzzled Natsuhiko was.
With Kommo-o's armored body, walking would certainly create constant metal clashing sounds, even at such a distance, it shouldn't go unnoticed by the Pokémon.
Yet his gaze quickly fell on the figure who looked like a wildman, dressed in animal hides, messy all over.
Judging by height alone, this person was much shorter than Natsuhiko.
However, because of the dust and dirt covering his body, it was still difficult to determine his age.
But from the person's actions, especially the smiley face left behind, Natsuhiko judged the person to be quite young.
The closer he got with his raised hand, the more the person retreated.
This indicated there wasn't much hostility.
When they reached a certain distance and the person turned to leave, Natsuhiko stopped.
Under the watchful eyes of that person, he picked a large green leaf from a nearby tree, wrapped some roasted meat in it, and placed it on the ground.
Saying nothing, making no move, he slowly retreated.
Seeing Natsuhiko start to withdraw, the person gave up the idea of leaving, silently watching Natsuhiko head towards the dim campfire with the lively Pokémon.
She sniffed lightly.
The faint fragrance wafting into her nose.
Beneath the tangled hair, two bright and nimble eyes flickered.
When Natsuhiko returned to his Pokémon's side, she quickly stepped forward and picked up the roasted meat from the ground.
Savoring the scent, her mouth was nearly watering.
She wiped the corner of her mouth, deftly flipped herself onto Kommo-o's back.
And then, blending into the night, she disappeared, chewing quietly and imperceptibly.
Though Natsuhiko had returned to camp, his peripheral vision remained on that silhouette and Kommo-o.
Seeing Kommo-o run without making any sound, curiosity flickered in his eyes.
"This person... could she be a descendant of the 'Meteor People' who were long ago taken into the alternate space by Rayquaza?"
Judging by appearance, she didn't seem to have any Pokeballs.
Yet she and Kommo-o were in perfect harmony, with a good relationship.
This reminded Natsuhiko of the dragon taming abilities once boasted by the 'Meteor People.'
Rayquaza's alternate space, Kommo-o, an unknown human, Natsuhiko couldn't help but link them with the 'Meteor People.'
But it seemed the person was highly cautious.
Whenever Natsuhiko approached within a certain distance, he would begin to retreat.
Yet perhaps this caution was instinctual.
Rather than conscious intent.
Otherwise, she shouldn't have touched or eaten the roasted meat Natsuhiko provided.
If Natsuhiko had any ill intent, added something to the meat, no matter how strong her body might be, she wouldn't withstand it.
Through this non-contact contact, Natsuhiko's understanding of the 'wildman' increased, with his vigilance and defenses somewhat eased.
More than anything, he felt an increasing curiosity.
Curious about how she survived here.
Curious about how she maintained a good relationship with Kommo-o.
Curious about how she appeared here.
He shook his head.
Sitting by the campfire.
"Trying to make contact might be possible, but it would likely take at least a few days to relax that instinctual vigilance."
Muttering to himself, he then began distributing the roasted meat to the Pokémon.
Given the appetite of his Pokémon, if he used roast meat to fill them, Natsuhiko might not get any sleep all night.
So he'd just offer a taste to change things up, their main food was still Energy Blocks.
"Togekiss?"
Togekiss flew beside Audino.
Seeing Togekiss, Audino smiled.
As a Happiness Shell-breaking Cuteness, Togekiss easily gains the affection of others without speaking.
Audino, being a new member of the team, naturally had to build a good relationship with Togekiss, the 'Social Butterfly' and de facto leader.
"Buduo~~"
Audino nodded with curved eyes.
The roasted meat was delicious.
But what it liked most was the way Natsuhiko's team interacted with one another.
Eevee and Monferno jumped up and down on Snorlax's belly, paying the price of sharing some roast meat with Snorlax.
But after bouncing around a bit, they were scooped up by Bewear.
Monferno seemed fine, but Eevee's little face turned pale with fright.
While Alakazam and Oranguru ate and discussed some issues encountered during today's battle.
If they couldn't resolve them, they'd consult Natsuhiko.
Beedrill and Aegislash were comparing strategies.
Meanwhile, Aegislash, alternating between seriousness and recklessness, let Beedrill slash it, which intrigued Audino.
Togekiss and Latios approached it.
Chatting.
As they chatted, Audino slowly realized something was off.
How did it go from being Audino to Tabunai, then to Bunai (impatience), and finally become Boxing King in Togekiss's remarks?
Togekiss is unparalleled in giving nicknames.
In fact, some of these came from Togekiss's own thoughts, while others were 'inspired' by Natsuhiko.
Togekiss maintained decorum, not spilling all of Natsuhiko's secrets.
