"And how about this next move?"
Yugen spoke with a smile on his face, and the Evil God's heart tightened again… the same went for all three brothers.
Another new move?
The three of them hadn't even realized that over the course of this Duel, their mentalities had quietly begun to shift.
Especially that tone and expression when the guy in front of them spoke—that inexplicable confidence, the somewhat playful smile on his face, and the look like he was eagerly waiting to see their reaction next.
Add in the darkness swirling around them, the pitch‑black background, and the coiling black fog that only made that eerie smile look even more sinister.
But the problem is…
This Dark Domain aura is supposed to be boosted by the Evil Gods' field, isn't it?
So why, as the fight goes on, does it somehow feel like his "evil energy" is resonating with theirs?
"I activate the Magic Card 'Forced Summon.'" Yugen said. "Choose 1 Monster on your opponent's field. Your opponent must Special Summon, from their Card Deck, as many Monsters of the same Race as possible." (Original Card)
Judai: "?"
President Kaiba: "??"
Evil God: "???"
Actually, the president knows this thing best. Not only is this a card Kaiba used in the original story, he personally designed and developed it himself.
At first glance it's another card that makes no sense. You pick a Monster on the field, and then you unconditionally Special Summon any Monsters of the same Race, and even in "as many as possible" numbers. Such an absurd search‑and‑summon effect suddenly becomes weird once you add the condition of "opponent's Monster."
But Kaiba had his reasons for creating this card. It was specifically designed to counter Atom's Three Phantom Gods back then.
As long as Atom had 1 Phantom God on the field, this card could forcibly summon the other two Phantom Gods right away. Then, once the Three Phantom Gods were gathered on the field, Kaiba would activate the Trap "Light Pyramid" that targets Gods and banish all three Phantom Gods from the Game in one shot.
That was the anti‑Phantom God tactic Kaiba constructed against Atom in the "Light Pyramid" movie.
Yugen keeps going bargain‑hunting in Kaiba Group's warehouse every few days, so it's no surprise he has this card. But what's he planning to do with it now?
Right now the opponent only has two Evil Gods on the field, so Forced Summon can only target an Evil God. Among Evil Divine Beast Race Monsters, there's only the third Evil God left: Evil God Eraser. Yugen is clearly helping them complete the summoning of all Three Evil Gods.
The scene is similar to when Kaiba fought Atom back then, but back then Kaiba had Light Pyramid as his answer. Now, Light Pyramid has gone to the grave along with Anubis's Evil Spirit, so Yugen definitely doesn't have it.
The Evil God clearly shares the same thoughts as the other two; after being stunned for two seconds, he couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"I don't know what you're plotting," the Evil God said loudly, "but in all my years, this is the first time I've seen someone voluntarily help us three brothers gather together on the field.
Since you're so eager to die, we'll oblige you!"
The Evil God raised his Duel Disc high. Darkness surged around the Duel Disc, and a streak of dark light shot out from his Card Deck, turning into a pitch‑black waterfall that crashed into the sky!
Then that darkness took on form.
Sharp claws, a body drenched in black flames, an evil figure descending with a Power of Destruction that seemed able to annihilate everything.
Evil God Eraser, descends!
[Evil God Eraser, Attack Power ?]
The Three Evil Gods gathered together, their auras stacking atop each other, and their overwhelming presence seemed to double.
Even watching from the sidelines, Kaiba looked at the majestic forms of the three Evil Gods and felt that tremendous pressure, and scenes from the past seemed to faintly rise in his mind.
Back when Atom was still here, when he simultaneously controlled the Three Phantom Gods, wasn't the terror of facing them the same?
Only in the end, Kaiba still couldn't break through that formation, couldn't break through the blockade of the three Gods.
Kaiba fell silent, but his gaze shifted back to Yugen.
As the new Duel King, Fujiki Yugen—can you successfully challenge the three Gods gathered together?
But Yugen immediately handed in his answer… and maybe a little too quickly.
"I see, you're aiming to use Eraser's effect." the Evil God said. "Any Evil God that is Special Summoned must be sent to the Graveyard at the end of the turn.
And when Evil God Eraser is sent to the Graveyard, all other cards on the field are sent to the Graveyard as well… you're planning to use Eraser's effect against me to take out my other two Evil Gods, aren't you?"
Judai realized: "So that's it! As expected of Yugen—using the opponent's drawback in reverse to clear the field…"
"But Kida!" Before he could finish, the Evil God cut him off arrogantly. "My Evil God: Divine Incarnation is the highest Evil God. The effects of lower‑ranked Gods don't work on me!
Even if Eraser's effect activates, I'll remain perfectly fine!"
The Root of Fear at his side was about to speak but held back.
Big bro, you'll be perfectly fine, sure, but I'm the one who gets wiped out…
Yet intimidated by big bro's tyranny, he didn't dare say a word, and could only glare furiously at Eraser.
We set you up to be the counterpart to Traitorous Dragon, but who told you to learn the whole "traitor" playbook too? Dedicated to screwing teammates for thirty years, huh?
"I activate the Magic Card 'Double Summon.'" Yugen continued. "This turn, I can perform two Normal Summons."
He had already Normal Summoned Blast Flame Maiden this turn. With the Double Summon buff, he now gained a second Normal Summon.
Evil God: "?"
He had originally thought Yugen was planning to use Eraser's effect to clear the field, but that would also send Yugen's own cards to the Graveyard. In other words, everything Yugen was spending resources to summon now would have to be destroyed at the end of the turn.
Yet he was still using Double Summon to bring out more Monsters, wasn't that just throwing them away?
So that's not what he's aiming for?
The Evil God suddenly felt instinctively that something was very wrong…
Especially when Yugen slowly drew out a card from his hand, and somewhere on his chest, golden light suddenly burst forth without warning!
Even President Kaiba's pupils shrank when he saw that golden glow and felt a familiar fluctuation of power.
The power gathered at Yugen's chest, the golden light converged at one point, and from nothing an inverted triangle took form.
An entity much like the Millennium Puzzle!
"Since my opponent is Evil Gods, it's only fitting I bring this out."
Yugen raised the card in his hand. The artwork could no longer be seen; the blazing golden light shining from it forced everyone's eyes shut, and even the thickest darkness in the Domain was nearly pierced through.
"Impossible!"
The Evil God instinctively raised his arm to block the golden light, but couldn't help shouting out.
Leaving aside that the Phantom Gods no longer exist in this world, how could this mere human possibly be qualified to control Gods?
And besides…
"You only have two Monsters on your field!" The Evil God shouted against the pressure of the golden light. "You don't even have enough Tributes…"
"Tributes?"
Yugen chuckled softly.
"Isn't your field already complete?"
The three Evil Gods froze in unison.
Eh?
