Although it's not Dumbledore's signature, Professor Snape's name is equally effective.
Five minutes before dinner started that day, Snape led a house-elf into the auditorium.
I don't know if it's because he's been tormented for several days, but Harry seemed to evolve a special sense, almost instinctively looking up the moment Snape walked into the auditorium.
At the same time, he also saw the house-elf beside him.
"Dobby?"
After Snape left, Harry uncertainly called out.
He felt that this house-elf resembled the one in his second year who tried every means to protect him, the Malfoy's elf.
But he wasn't very sure.
Because at that time the house-elf only wore a dirty and ragged tea towel, but this one... how should I say, Harry had never seen such a well-dressed elf.
A handmade wide-brimmed hat covered his two large ears, and he carried a brand-new brown suitcase.
A clean, perfectly-fitting jacket with a stylish design and many differently-shaped pockets, made of the same material as the Dragon Tamer work clothes Charlie wore, seemingly quite sturdy.
And the boots under his feet, Harry couldn't determine if they were made of cowhide or fire dragon skin.
They didn't look like cowhide, but isn't a house-elf wearing fire dragon skin boots a bit too extravagant?
Plus, they almost looked the same, it's normal for Harry to be uncertain.
Until the house-elf excitedly waved at him, shrieking: "Mr. Harry Potter remembers Dobby, Dobby is really happy."
"It really is you." Harry said in surprise, "But how come you're with Snape, are you working for him?"
"No, Dobby is working for Mr. Scamander." The elf said.
"Scamander?" Harry furrowed his brow, the name seemed familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had heard it.
"Yes, Mr. Scamander sent Dobby to find Professor Snape at Hogwarts, so Dobby came."
Upon hearing Snape mentioned, Harry lost interest in that person and switched topics, "What are you doing at Hogwarts?"
As he said this, Harry suddenly felt inexplicable unease, not sure for what reason.
Possibly because of what Dobby did before... claiming to protect him but at the same time intercepting letters and blocking station passages, which truly tormented him enough.
Harry was really afraid Dobby wanted to protect him again.
"Dobby is here to find Mr. Kael." The elf then recalled his mission and quickly looked around.
Just then, Kael happened to walk in from outside.
"Ah, Mr. Kael." Dobby quickly ran over.
Seeing this, Harry breathed a slight sigh of relief... as long as he wasn't here to protect him, it was fine.
But somehow, that feeling of unease didn't disappear with Dobby's departure, it became more pronounced instead.
"Maybe it's because of being attacked by Snape too many times..." Unable to figure out the reason, Harry could only comfort himself like this.
Meanwhile, Kael was equally surprised seeing Dobby running to him.
"I thought Newt would come."
"Mr. Scamander said he wasn't suitable to appear at Hogwarts, so he sent Dobby."
"No, he's perfect to come at this time." Kael muttered quietly in disappointment.
But since Dobby came, he couldn't very well send him back...
"Forget it." Kael said, "Come with me."
He led Dobby to the empty public lounge and asked, "Did you bring the stuff?"
"It's here." Dobby raised the suitcase in his hand, "Mr. Kael, are you sure there's no one else here? Mr. Scamander said this can't be seen by others, or you'll be expelled."
"Don't worry, everyone else is at the auditorium, it's just us two here now." Kael said.
"That's good." Dobby then opened the suitcase, revealing two eyes like sapphires inside.
"And this." Dobby took out a bulging bag.
"What's this?"
"Mrs. Scamander just made grapefruit cookies, she asked me to bring some for you."
When Kael returned to the auditorium, dinner had already started.
"Where is that house-elf?" Conna looked behind him and asked.
"He's already gone." Kael said, handing two cookies from the bag to Conna, "Try these."
Conna took a bite and her eyes lit up immediately.
"So delicious, where's this from? Hogwarts' kitchen?"
"No, it was made by Tina... Mrs. Scamander, and her skills come from a great baker." Kael said, "If you like it, I can take you during the holidays to..."
"Sorry, this holiday Conna has to go to Austria for The Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers's membership review, can't accompany you to meet this Mrs. Scamander."
A cold, snake-like voice came from behind.
Kael felt a chill on his neck, turned around and saw Snape standing behind him without expression.
"Professor, I didn't realize you were here." Kael chuckled awkwardly.
"Of course you didn't notice." Snape said, squinting, "The thing, give it to me."
"I'm afraid I can't." Kael said, "The child has just been brought here and is not yet adapted, it will attack all strangers that approach."
