Kael glanced at Mrs. Weasley, the Death Eaters... or rather, what Voldemort wanted, was probably this kind of effect.
Since his comeback, he hasn't made any big moves, and even if he did, they failed one after another. And Voldemort himself is not a person of low profile; he likes to see others in fear.
This time, it'll probably be an opportunity to remind everyone of the fear dominated by the Dark Mark from over a decade ago.
Just like Dumbledore said, killing the Minister of Magic under the protection of layers of Aurors is much better than killing some unknown wizard on the street.
"But Professor, won't they follow us to St Mungo's?" Kael quietly reminded, "There's a big difference between killing and injuring someone severely."
"You needn't worry, Sirius, Alastor, and Remus have already gone to St Mungo's ahead of time," Dumbledore said calmly, "Remus also has the Two-Sided Mirror, he can contact me anytime."
He took a sip of tea, and while looking at Kael, his expression suddenly became a little dazed.
"Professor, what's wrong?" Kael asked.
"Nothing, just feeling a bit odd." Dumbledore shook his head, "That basilisk, regarded by Tom as a weapon for slaughter, one day became a key to saving lives."
"You mentioned it once before."
"Did I?" Dumbledore seemed surprised, "Did I say that?"
"At St Mungo's." Kael reminded him, "When we first used the basilisk to petrify against Dark Magic... um, that wizard."
"Yes, but no matter how many times we experience it, it's still a bit hard to believe. It's like the Killing Curse suddenly transformed into some kind of Healing Magic."
Dumbledore said softly, "By the way, you should remember Stodgy's name, he's also a member of the Order of Phoenix."
"Sorry." Kael shrugged, he truly forgot.
"Professor, there's one more thing."
"Go ahead." Maybe finding the taste off, Dumbledore added three more cubes of sugar to the teacup.
"It's about the Magic Transportation Department, they..."
"I can't give you an answer for that right now, Kael," Dumbledore interrupted him, "I don't know the specifics either, further investigation is needed.
But I trust Barty, no matter what, he couldn't possibly align with the Death Eaters, I'm sure of it."
"Yes, I trust him too."
Mrs. Weasley chimed in, "Arthur mentioned to me that Barty did seem a bit dispirited for a while, but he soon pulled himself together and even started devising a more advanced method for operating the Floo Network.
He's always like that, meticulous with his work, no matter where he is."
"Alright." Seeing that both Dumbledore and Mrs. Weasley believe in Barty Crouch, Kael decided not to say more, just slightly reminded Dumbledore.
The Magic Transportation Department might not seem significant ordinarily, but once war breaks out, its importance isn't much less than the Auror Office.
However, Dumbledore should know this too, after all, he's experienced some of the most famous wars in the Magic Realm, with much more experience than Kael.
Five minutes later, Dumbledore finished his tea and prepared to leave. He still had many things to do and couldn't idle here forever.
"Need Fawkes to send you back to Hogwarts?" Dumbledore asked before walking out.
"No, no need." Kael shook his head repeatedly, "I can Apparate to Hogsmeade and then return to school."
"Alright then." Dumbledore said, "Be careful not to get caught by Filch, the new school rules are quite strict on unauthorized outings. Even though I'm the headmaster, I can't give you extra credit for matters outside school."
Kael was speechless, wasn't it Fawkes who brought him here? How did it become an unauthorized outing?
Before he could speak, Dumbledore had already left, the door closed, and the room returned to silence once more.
"Dear, how about having a meal here before you leave," Mrs. Weasley asked.
"Though I'd love to, I'm afraid I can't." Kael shook his head, "I have to get back before dinner to avoid suspicion."
"Alright then." Mrs. Weasley said, but she still handed over a large bag of homemade cream fudge and beef pies, insisting Kael take them to school.
