"Wonderful, we're finally open for business today."
While Kael and Newt were eating their pies, Fred went over to close the shop door, then set an ornate Peeping Mirror on the shelf beside it.
"This is our new product. If anyone around you starts harboring ill will toward you, the Peeping Mirror will vibrate," George explained. "So what are you two doing next?"
"Going to Knockturn Alley," Kael said, finishing his pie and taking a sip of hot cocoa. "Remember what I mentioned before? There's a Werewolf there. We've got to take care of that problem."
"A Werewolf?" Fred frowned. "Anything we can help with?"
"Yeah," Kael said. "Get me another slice of pie, I'm not quite full."
"Can't help you there," George said with a shrug.
"We only brought two pieces, meant to have them as a midnight snack," Fred said. "If you're not in a rush, you could head to Grimmauld Place first. Mum would be over the moon."
"Forget it, we'll talk about it after I've sorted this out," Kael waved him off. "What about the Order of Phoenix? Any moves on their side?"
"Yeah, moving Harry," Fred lowered his voice. "We're planning to get Harry out of Little Whinging tomorrow."
"How are you getting him out?" Kael asked. "You'd better not use the Floo Network. The Death Eaters attacked the Ministry of Magic Transportation Department before—I'm worried they might have done something to it."
"Relax, we won't," George said. "We're planning to use Apparition."
"Speaking of which, you'd better be careful of the Ministry of Magic's Pius Thicknesse."
"Thicknesse…" Kael thought for a moment. "That Acting Minister of the Law Enforcement Department?"
"Yeah, that's him."
"A couple of days ago, Thicknesse tried to classify Apparition as an illegal act, said it was to protect Harry so You-Know-Who couldn't grab him."
"But we all know You-Know-Who doesn't give a toss about Ministry of Magic laws."
"He just wanted to stop Harry from leaving."
Kael nodded. True enough, the Ministry of Magic's regulations couldn't restrain You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters.
"Hang on, you just said 'tried to.' What do you mean by that?"
"Because he didn't pull it off," Fred said with a grin. "Lady Amelia Bones, who was ambushed by Death Eaters earlier, woke up and insisted on leaving St Mungo's Hospital to return to the Ministry of Magic."
"As the legitimate Minister of the Law Enforcement Department, she shot that proposal down on the spot."
"That's good," Kael said. "But we can't let our guard down. The Death Eaters definitely won't just let it go."
"We're well aware of that," George said. "Right now Kingsley is protecting Amelia Bones, to prevent her from being attacked by Death Eaters again. As long as she's all right, the Ministry of Magic won't make decisions that favor the Death Eaters."
"Mm. If anything else comes up, I can help too." Kael set his trunk on the table.
"Actually, I think we could use this to get Harry out as well. We could totally use Polyjuice Potion to disguise ourselves as Muggles going door-to-door selling things, then grab Harry and pack him off at top speed.
That way, even if the Death Eaters are watching from nearby the whole time, it'd be hard for them to spot anything off."
"That really is a decent idea," Fred said, rubbing his chin. "We'll talk it over with Dad when we get back."
"But Kael, we're about to move Harry. You sure you can make it back in time?" George asked.
"I'll do my best," Kael said.
He actually wasn't sure how long it would take to deal with the Werewolf in Knockturn Alley. If he was lucky—say he ran into the target as soon as he went in—it might be over in under ten minutes.
But if the other side was good at hiding, in a place as chaotic as Knockturn Alley, spending a few days searching would be perfectly normal.
"Then we'll treat this as a backup plan for now," Fred said.
He and George put on their coats and left the shop with Kael, locking the door behind them.
Kael instinctively looked up at the huge, glittering signboard and the colorful light-orbs still spinning nonstop.
"Leave them be."
"Diagon Alley always needs a bit of life."
The two of them said with grinning faces.
