Chapter 982 - Chapter 763: Voldemort's Favor_2

However, at this moment, an abrupt voice echoed in the room.

"Then why don't you go to Hogwarts yourself."

Instinctively, everyone turned towards the direction of the voice, wanting to see which Champion had such a death wish.

"What did you just say?" Voldemort swayed beside Oren, looking at him with interest.

"I said, as the Dark Lord, why didn't you go to Hogwarts."

Oren acted as if he didn't notice the wand pressed against his forehead, speaking to himself:

"If you choose the battlefield at Hogwarts, threatening with the lives of all the students or just casually grabbing some people to tie them up, even Dumbledore wouldn't dare to resist, right.

"At that time, you could easily kill him without any effort."

A gasp spread around, including from Bellatrix and Barty Crouch Jr, as all the Death Eaters eyed this newcomer with a peculiar gaze.

Goodness, tying students up and battling Dumbledore? Even though they considered themselves to be beyond redemption, they wouldn't stoop to such baseless acts, yet this person could say it so calmly.

For a moment, they even felt somewhat inferior.

Even Voldemort stared at Oren dazedly for a long while before coming back to his senses.

"Are you implying that I, the heir of Salazar Slytherin, the greatest Dark Lord to this day, need to rely on such means to defeat Dumbledore?"

Voldemort's voice was icy, and his snake-like eyes devoid of emotion, as though he would kill Oren without hesitation if he said the wrong thing.

"You overthink, I didn't mean that." Oren's face remained calm, "But this indeed is a rare opportunity, I just think it's a pity."

"There's no need for you to teach me what to do, and don't play smart in front of me."

Surprisingly to the Death Eaters, Voldemort actually put away his wand.

"I have other more important matters, as for Dumbledore... I can kill him anytime."

"Whatever you say." Oren spread his hands, making a helpless gesture.

Yet, for such near-suicidal disrespectful behavior, Oren still faced no punishment.

If anyone's performance in this operation against Hogwarts slightly satisfied Voldemort, it would probably be Oren.

Not only did he safely return, bringing back the worthless Antonin Dolohov, but he also cooperated with Snape to rescue Malfoy, who was under watch in the Hospital Wing.

Meticulous mind, quick reaction, and more importantly, he was crazy enough to do whatever it took to achieve his goal. All these combined made Oren's status in Voldemort's mind surpass about ninety percent of the Death Eaters here.

Faced with a servant who brought him a bit of surprise, Voldemort didn't mind showing a generous side of himself.

This special privilege made Bellatrix, standing by, so jealous her eyes turned red.

She used to be like that, standing out among the Death Eaters, gaining the Dark Lord's deep trust.

But ever since she came out of Azkaban, it seemed, due to several key mission failures, that trust gradually faded away.

In Bellatrix's heart, it seemed like a beast emerged, constantly roaring, enticing her to kill that Oren.

But her remaining rationality told her not to do so, at least not in front of the Dark Lord.

Bellatrix closed her eyes, fiercely suppressing a certain thought in her heart, and when she opened her eyes again, Voldemort was already gone.

The towering mountain looming over the room vanished with it, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Bellatrix glanced at Oren not far away, rubbed her fingers along her wand twice, and quickly left the room.

Lucius hurriedly scrambled up from the floor, rushed to Draco's side, and helped him up, holding him tightly.

Various peculiar glances were cast around, with feigned sympathy and genuine schadenfreude.

However, Lucius could no longer care about these.

"Are you alright, Draco?" he asked anxiously.

But whether it was due to the Crucio Curse or being frightened, Draco remained silent until almost everyone had left the room, then he wobbled to his feet.

"I'm fine, Dad." Draco tried to make his voice sound calmer.

He had always thought being a Death Eater was glamorous, but now he realized it was nothing like that.

The feeling of brushing past death filled him with deep regret; he didn't want to be a Death Eater anymore, he wanted to return to Hogwarts, even if it meant sharing a dormitory with Potter and Weasley.

Seemingly seeing his thoughts, Lucius helplessly patted his shoulder, saying nothing.

After Draco Malfoy had calmed down a bit, he stood up and walked over to Oren.

"Thank you," Lucius said.

He was well aware that if Oren hadn't suddenly spoken to attract the Dark Lord's attention, he wouldn't have let Draco go so quickly.

"Why thank me?" Oren glanced at him indifferently, not accepting his thanks.

"For helping bring Draco back, of course."

Lucius naturally dared not mention anything related to Voldemort, but luckily, Draco was indeed brought back by Oren, so what he said wasn't incorrect.
