In the alchemy classroom, Kael stared blankly at the Time Turner on the table.
This is truly incredible. The Time Turner, which was supposed to be taken by Dumbledore, suddenly returned and was sent to Professor Viktor at Beauxbatons.
To be honest, the reason Kael came to Beauxbatons was entirely a spur-of-the-moment decision made after he arrived in France.
Apart from Beauxbatons, he might have gone to other well-known places, such as the Magic Opera House in Bordeaux, strongly recommended by Cedric.
Nicolas was also a frequent visitor there, but he preferred Muggle opera... He believed that Muggles were more ambitious and creative, and in this regard, wizards fell somewhat short.
Besides the opera house, there was the Red Cap Magical Troupe in France, and the vineyards loved by wandering minstrels and traveling wizards... all these could have been Kael's destinations.
The reason he chose to come to Beauxbatons was entirely due to some rumors in the shop and the influence of Fleur.
In other words, from the moment he made this decision to his departure, it was only a matter of a few hours.
If he had made a different choice or not come to France, would he have never seen this Time Turner?
After all, Viktor just said that the envelope was mixed in with a bunch of failures, and if Kael hadn't finally told the truth in time, Viktor might not have even remembered...
Kael didn't know how Beauxbatons would eventually handle those failed alchemy products, but they certainly wouldn't be well kept somewhere, probably one Scouring Charm could solve it all.
"Who exactly sent this thing?" Kael asked again.
"If I knew, I would have told you right away." Viktor spread the envelope open on the table.
There was nothing on it but Viktor's name and address.
"In any case, this item solves our biggest problem right now."
Viktor didn't care how the item came, holding the pocket watch in his palm and examining it closely.
"It's so thoroughly broken, like a grape squeezed dry of juice..."
"Can it still be used?" Kael asked nervously.
"It can always be repaired," Viktor said, "The only problem is it's a bit troublesome, you'll need to have some patience."
"How long will it take?"
"Since there's previous experience, quickly... a month?" Viktor said, placing a brass long-tube glasses on his head.
"I still have some extra materials here, I can help restore it to its original state... I was responsible last time too, this process will take about three days."
Then, he put on two oddly shaped mechanical gloves, each with ten scaffold-like structures, each holding a wand about two inches long... totaling twenty wands altogether.
"During this time, you need to send this letter to Nicolas... if you can contact him."
"I can," Kael said hurriedly.
"Then write to him, asking him to make preparations in advance... The key to repairing the Time Turner is its magic text and the Philosopher's Stone that acts as the core."
"Philosopher's Stone?" Kael's heart tightened once more.
In history, there were never more than a few of these stones, could Nicolas really create another one?
"Don't worry, the Philosopher's Stone is still here," Viktor told him a piece of good news... or barely good news, at least.
"It's just been drained too, with not a hint of magic power left on it, otherwise I wouldn't have overlooked it.
"But I don't know if it can be repaired... This is not my strong suit, Nicolas will have to figure something out."
"Now, if you have nothing else, you can leave. Oh, right... remember to tell Olympe that the alchemy class could be postponed for a few days."
Viktor pulled down the long-tube glasses, and his whole demeanor suddenly changed, looking like a statue, without a trace of emotion visible on him.
Kael lowered his voice and quietly walked to the door.
As he approached, a gap appeared in the magic text on the door, and the lock automatically unlocked, and when he stepped out, the door closed with a click, automatically locking again.
Kael stood at the door for a while, not hearing any movement inside, and then he headed in the direction of Ms. Maxime's office.
During this time, Kael wrote a letter using an automatic quill, just finishing two sheets of parchment as he reached the door.
"Fawkes..." Kael whispered.
The Phoenix appeared on his shoulder, looking at him with those dark, bright eyes.
"Take this to Nicolas," Kael folded the parchment, "It's related to Professor Dumbledore, it must be delivered."
Fawkes nodded, took the parchment, and with a puff, vanished.
After Fawkes left, Kael went to the Beauxbatons Headmaster's Office to relay Professor Viktor's request.
"So you're saying that Professor Viktor, for some reason, needs to temporarily stop the alchemy class?"
Ms. Maxime looked at Kael, with a hint of doubt in her voice.
She knew Viktor, who was someone apart from teaching alchemy was largely focused on sharing this subject. If it wasn't something particularly important, it was impossible for him to request a pause in classes.
