Leo's POV
I don't think.
I just move.
The engine roars as I speed through the city, Chloe's message still glowing on my phone screen.
Location received.
Mick.
My grip tightens on the steering wheel.
Everything clicks now.
The lies.
The timing.
The way things kept falling apart at the worst possible moment.
It wasn't coincidence.
It was him.
But none of that matters right now.
Because there's only one thing in my head—
Lana.
I should've gone after her.
The moment she walked out.
The moment she said "I have to."
But I didn't.
And now?
Now I don't even know where she is.
My chest tightens.
What if she's alone?
What if she believes everything?
What if I've already lost her?
"No," I mutter.
Not yet.
The car comes to a sharp stop outside a dimly lit building.
I step out without hesitation.
No second thoughts.
No plan.
Just anger.
Inside, the air smells like smoke and something darker.
My eyes scan the room.
And there—
Mick.
Sitting casually, like he has all the time in the world.
"Well, well," he smirks.
"Took you long enough."
I walk straight toward him.
No words.
No warning.
My fist connects with his jaw.
Hard.
The chair crashes back as he stumbles, laughter escaping him even as he wipes the blood from his lip.
"Still impulsive," he says, amused.
"Stay away from her," I snap.
Mick tilts his head. "Her?"
"Don't play games with me."
"Oh, I'm not," he says calmly.
"If anything… I'm the only one being honest with her."
My fists clench again.
"You think lies are honesty?"
"I didn't lie," Mick shrugs.
"I just showed her what you didn't."
That hits.
But I don't let it show.
"What do you want?" I ask coldly.
Mick leans back, completely unfazed.
"You already know."
"No. Say it."
His smile fades slightly.
"I want you to lose," he says quietly.
"Everything you took from me."
I scoff. "I didn't take anything."
"You took her," he replies instantly.
Silence.
"She chose me," I say.
"Did she?" Mick smirks again.
"Because last time I checked… she walked away."
That—
That hits deeper than the punch I threw.
I step closer, my voice low.
"This ends now."
Mick stands too, matching my intensity.
"No," he says softly.
"This is just getting started."
And suddenly—
I realize something.
This isn't just about Lana anymore.
This is war.
