We both plunged into the sea of darkness. Well, it wasn't an actual sea but the darkness here was denser than before. Almost forming an endless ocean.
But the moment we plunged into it, we didn't get wet or assaulted by a troublesome liquid, insistently trying to find its way into our nostrils. Instead, it felt colder, darker, such that the hairs on my body stood on end.
There was something utterly sinister about this place. Before I got the chance to study it any further though, Kassie was already with her sword. She sent her body in a whirling spin and clashed her sword with the shiny bottom of the darkness multiple times.
Then she unleashed her form, and at that moment, instinctively knowing what she wanted, I grabbed her with the chain and pulled her upward with great force. Multiplying the momentum, I slammed her down.
But Kassie rode that momentum like a transcendent sailor.
