"Evacuating the masses is commendable, but it won't solve the problem."
Gass stopped his teammates, arms crossed, he had a plan.
As they were talking, Starfire was called away by Batman through the hall's broadcast; now every superhero with fast flying speed had other tasks.
But Batman sent a more qualified guardian to the Titans.
The new guardian arrived almost instantly; she had to ensure Batman's command was strictly enforced.
"But Batman said.... "
"Batman, Batman again! I had enough of him when I was in the Teen Titans, why do you think I left the team to go to college?" Gass frantically scratched his head; just hearing Batman made his scalp tingle. "And this lady here, who are you? By what right do you manage me?!"
The green-skinned girl wasn't angry at all: "I'm Mars Girl, a member of the Young Justice League, now joining you as a liaison officer."
Gass actually guessed it; even though he'd been away for years, her green skin showed she was related to Mars Hunter.
But so what? His big brother Sea King was also a major figure in the Justice League, yet now missing, and no one went to find him!
So Gass turned to look at Donna, who was worried about Diana and seemed to be mentally absent.
"So now the Titans have a babysitter?"
Donna sighed, feeling her teammate was still so childish: "Now is not the time to settle old scores, Gass, come, let's talk aside."
Donna mimicked Deathstroke's style, hooking Gass's neck and dragging him aside.
Leaving Mars Girl Megan standing there.
Though she's 40 years old, by Martian age, she's still a child, what babysitter...
Megan rolled her eyes slightly; does green skin make her look so old? But if she revealed her true form as a White Martian, wouldn't it be a bit intimidating?
White Martians not only are harder to accept from a human aesthetic perspective but are also notoriously mostly supervillains. Megan is among the few kind-hearted ones.
For this reason, she became green-skinned like her uncle Ron, a disguise to show goodwill.
"Such a belligerent young man; does he not fight every day at school?" Megan muttered to herself, turning to watch Donna drag Gass away.
Raven approached to talk to Megan, wanting to ease the atmosphere a bit.
Though Raven usually speaks little, as Warlocks appear mysterious, but she is also a good girl and doesn't want justice comrades to be sad.
"Gass is one of the Titan veterans; he wasn't like this before. He's just too worried about Sea King, Megan; I'm apologizing to you on his behalf."
"It's fine; I can understand, he's a good person."
Megan smiled, shaking her head. Mars Hunter's abilities, she also possessed them all, but like Ron, she wouldn't casually read others' thoughts due to her self-restraint.
Only now she wanted to peek into Batman's mind, to see if he didn't trust her, so he refused to communicate via her psychic ability.
After all, with her uncle absent now, she was fully capable of connecting with all the heroes on Earth; why not let her do it?
Actually, Batman was just protecting her; after all, what the Justice League faced sometimes was too dark for the kids.
The current situation on Earth was too chaotic; many heroes, while rescuing, were also suffering.
Not every hero had high quality; some grassroots heroes weren't psychologically strong enough.
Right now, Batman's communication headset was filled with all sorts of profanity and desperate screams.
"Damn, turned into damn fish again! Damn Fish-Men, come lick Grandpa's eggs! Go to hell!"
"We... damn it, Earth's doomed, I can't save everyone, boo hoo..."
"Son of a Green Pool! What people are we saving? We should all just kill ourselves! It's an apocalyptic flood!"
"Justice, where is justice? I'm out!"
...
Everything seemed chaotic and desperate; just listening to their voices and words, you could tell that these heroes were mentally collapsing.
Not everyone could turn away after seeing their loved ones turn into fish-headed monsters and go save other civilians.
Many only went mad after seeing their parents or wives and children turn into fish.
Batman could not only hear their voices of despair but also see real-time images through the 'Watchtower' hidden on the moon, various tragic scenes playing out before him.
He and Mars Hunter could face these calmly, but Megan couldn't; all of this was like poison to her mind, and if her mental connection touched these desperate heroes, she'd empathize with those emotions and collapse.
He couldn't let Mars Girl use mental connections, and if she had to, it should be limited to the Justice League giants still on Earth, like Barry and Superman, who were strong enough.
Batman remained calm-faced, he didn't have the time to console these unfortunate heroes, only assigning them more tasks.
They began to curse or curse him, but Batman just repeated his orders.
Saving the world was the primary task now; mourning or sympathy or other formalities would have to wait. They could vent their anger on him; it didn't matter how they cursed just as long as they continued to save lives.
He was Batman; he didn't need others to understand.
Meanwhile, in Star City, there was a well-equipped Xiaohuzi wearing a Justice League communicator, swinging between high-rise buildings with a grappling hook, repelling Fish-Men and rescuing civilians.
His squad was well-rounded too, each performing their duties, and Star City's situation was still under control.
And he was waiting for Batman's orders.
His will is very strong, and his physical condition is at its peak, always ready to respond to the call of the League and head to a bigger battlefield.
However, Batman seemed to have completely forgotten him, and he began to suspect that his communicator was broken...
Apart from the time he was brought along to fight the Underground Ape People, why has there been nothing for him to do since?
..................
The scene shifts back to the Titan Squad still in the Hall of Justice, where water has begun to accumulate outside. It's time for them to leave.
"Actually, I think that guy had a point." Beast Boy joined in the conversation with Megan and Raven, taking Gass's side.
"Agree." Steel Armor chimed in. She's Steelman's niece, who made himself a suit of silver armor with an S on the chest and is sometimes called 'Steel Superman'.
But whether it's Steel Armor or Steelman, they are scientists without any superpowers, relying entirely on high-tech armor for support. They are both Iron Men.
Mars Girl glared at the green-haired Beast Boy. You can have opinions, but since Batman has given an order, all you need to do is follow it.
"I disagree!"
"Everyone is busy rescuing people everywhere. Why is no one addressing the battleships up there? They're the root of the problem, aren't they?"
Beast Boy found Megan quite relatable; after all, both are green, so he voiced his thoughts, suggesting, like Gass did, that dealing with the battleships would be better.
"Yes, we have the Justice League Teleportation Room. With a little modification, I could turn it into a point-to-point teleportation container." Steel Armor obviously supported raiding the enemy, proposing a solution to the blockade problem.
"Strongly oppose! Saving the masses is the top priority now. Coordination for rescue work is already extremely difficult, and even quantum communication is nearing blockage by the enemy. We must go out and rescue people!"
Mars Girl again expressed her opinion as a Regulator. With her around, the Titans cannot act out.
Donna calmed Gass, communicating as a warrior to another warrior, quickly reaching an agreement.
For instance, rescuing people for a few hours first before raiding the aliens; after all, the alien spaceship will keep lingering there to blockade Earth, right?
Gass thought about it and agreed, considering Batman wouldn't have much to dispute, and conflict with other partners could be avoided.
So he planned to apologize to Mars Girl and then head out together to rescue people first.
However, at that moment, Batman's voice came through Megan's headset.
"Ms. Mars, report to the control room immediately; urgent task."
"Wait, I'm here...."
Before she could finish speaking, Batman directly used the Justice League Teleporter to transport her away.
On one hand, interference from the enemy on communications was becoming more severe, and although Batman had arranged everyone's upcoming tasks, he needed to maintain real-time communication with Barry and Clark, requiring Megan's abilities.
On the other hand, the Titans were still those kids from the past Teen Titans, naively believing there were no eavesdroppers in the Hall of Justice.
Every word they said, even their thoughts, were entirely exposed to Batman.
Batman had no intention of stopping them.
Deathstroke proposed going to the cosmos, but after taking the spaceship, he disappeared. The latest intel is that he had a conflict with Clark at a settlement point in Peru, with some civilians bizarrely burned to death.
After Clark left dejectedly, he bizarrely started asking Batman questions on theology, about whether 'God's Fury truly exists' or whether 'Bible stories are true' and the like...
These questions were clearly beyond Batman's scope, and he chose to ignore them.
Deathstroke gathered the Shadow Contract Team, a group of experts in mysticism, even Batman couldn't guess what he's planning.
Subsequently, the spaceship lent to Deathstroke had its tracking and eavesdropping devices dismantled by Bo Bo; even the existence of the spaceship was obscured by the magic of Banshee and Night Shadow.
Deathstroke had long prepared; the Warlocks' magic concealed each of them, Megan's mind control abilities and Justice League's technological equipment all became ineffective.
As usual, Deathstroke unilaterally cut off the connection.
Now the Titans are planning an assassination operation to lift Earth's blockade; they are no longer children, and Batman thinks it's worth letting them try.
At least with Donna and Raven, their life safety isn't a concern.
But Batman has his own plan; he is searching for the 'spigot' from which aliens are flooding Earth, and once found, he will send Superman and Barry to resolve it.
The Teen Titans chose to raid the enemy fleet, conveniently providing cover for Batman's plan, allowing him to use them as a distraction, so Batman did not hesitate to utilize them.
Based on this, Batman actively recalled Mars Girl, allowing the Titans freedom to act.
"Hmm, just like that, she's gone."
Beast Boy shrugged, feeling a bit lost at the empty spot in front of him. A pity to miss the chance to talk more with a green-skinned girl.
"Where did Megan go?" Donna felt puzzled. She obviously knew the white light was the Justice League transmission, but why did Batman summon the Regulator at this time?
"She just left all of a sudden."
Raven played with her hair. She had dyed a few strands purple, giving her short hair a trendy, mysterious look.
"Probably something more important for the 'Justice League'."
Beast Boy squinted his eyes and sarcastically commented; there wasn't a single Young Justice League member in the Hall, as they had all gone to rescue people.
With Megan gone, the Watcher was no more, and Gass's original plan was resurrected.
The Titans quickly reached a consensus, ready to head to the skies.
As for Donna, she inexplicably thought of Deathstroke, wondering what choice he would have made if he were here?
