Chapter 510 - Chapter 474: Acting Showdown

Yes, enough intelligence has been gathered so far to make a hypothesis.

Actually, there's nothing much to say, since the final intel has already been obtained from Arthur. The sea gods are here for revenge, and rumor has it that Aryan and Poseidon tricked them.

In addition to the intelligence secretly observed from Batman, the information Megan shared with everyone, and some intel provided by Bo Bo and Diana.

Su Ming, based on Poseidon's character, has already guessed the general situation.

Surely, thousands or tens of thousands of years ago, Aryan created a transmitter, intending to prosper together with sea races across the cosmos and seek common development.

Then the alien sea race came, and they held a high-standard meeting, with even sea gods arriving. This showed respect for cooperation, as the highest leaders came directly to negotiate with Earth.

And these beings were gods of the ancient path, each with wrists thicker than Poseidon's thighs.

Poseidon panicked.

The power of their entire family was stolen from Hecate, not only unstable but also extremely limited.

Now, suddenly so many sea gods from different planets appeared, claiming to want equal cooperation, but in the future, who would really have the say?

It certainly wouldn't be him; his power was too inferior.

His original plan was to recruit some aliens and ordinary sea races to come work for him, just treating him like a god would suffice.

Instead, a bunch of gods stronger than him arrived. How is he supposed to play this game?

So Poseidon backed out.

Although it's unknown whether he poisoned the banquet or used a dagger smeared with the Tear of Extinction for a sneak attack, he definitely used divine power to confuse Aryan and dealt with all those sea gods.

One might ask, since they were ambushed, why not kill them directly?

But who knows what Poseidon was thinking. Maybe he wanted to torture those sea gods for some perverse pleasure, so he imprisoned them all.

The Tomb of the Gods is an unknown place, perhaps similar to Krypton's Phantom Zone, but likely of a higher level.

Anyway, those alien gods could only watch their planets get destroyed while trapped there.

Pleasure and destruction are features of the sea, and Poseidon enjoyed this.

Watching other families destroyed and planets annihilated, he was quite pleased.

But somehow, due to the Tomb of the Gods being in disrepair for years or because Luthor tampered with the timeline, three sea gods escaped.

There's no need to mention it; of course, they want to retaliate against Earth, and by the way, find the key to the Tomb of the Gods to rescue the other trapped sea gods so they can divide Earth equally.

And Luthor, for sure, dug a pitfall for these fools to achieve his own purposes.

...........

"That's the situation, Batman should be confronting Luthor right now."

After explaining his speculation to Arthur and Diana, Su Ming added nonchalantly.

"What?!" Arthur's massive body was shaken, his hormones surged, but despite his chest still bleeding, he slammed it with his big hand, making a banging sound: "We must go help Batman!"

With that, he intended for Steel Armor to find a way to speed up this broken spacecraft.

"Why the rush? Batman won't die," Su Ming remained calm, holding a shell as if sipping tea, drinking plain water.

Diana knew Deathstroke must have discovered something again, but his current demeanor was so annoying.

That 'I guessed it, but I'm not telling you, letting you worry' look was truly irritating.

"Spit it out, what have you thought of?"

She frowned, leaned in closer, her patience running thin, almost looking like she intended to bite him.

Su Ming shook his head, couldn't these two think for themselves?

"First off, Batman left the Totality in the Hall of Justice, which almost the whole world knows." He slowly rotated the shell in his palm, feeling the textures above: "And Luthor is naturally aware of this, so why would Batman do such a thing?"

Diana and Arthur were stunned, indeed, not only did Batman leave the Totality in the Hall of Justice, but he also sent everyone away, leaving only himself.

It was like carrying gold into a thief's den for a stroll.

The spacecraft's operation was smooth, and all equipment was functioning normally, but the Female Hero and Sea King suddenly felt the air grow much colder.

Su Ming didn't prolong the suspense, since these two weren't exactly brainy individuals.

"Because Luthor has been pursuing the Totality, he obviously possesses more information about that mysterious small sphere. And with the Totality in the hands of the Justice League, it's likely that Batman and Ron have both tried to comprehend and study it, and achieved nothing, so why not let Luthor study it, and once conclusions are drawn, Batman can snatch it back."

Indeed, based on Megan's account, Su Ming judged that Batman must have discovered Luthor was eavesdropping on the Hall of Justice's communication.

That's why he ordered everyone to evacuate and specifically emphasized that he, Batman, was with the Totality in the Hall of Justice.

It was almost as if he was saying it into Luthor's ear.

Afterward, Batman would certainly 'lose' the Totality, letting Luthor 'rob' it.

This was all part of the plan; Batman must have left something on the Totality, like a tracker or similar tools.

Luthor is someone who, when he wants something, will do anything to get it. Knowing the Totality he desires is in the Hall of Justice, he would surely lead the Destruction Legion to raid it.

Precisely falling into Batman's trap.

Batman is now disabled, just the right condition to play on others' underestimations, and his teammates won't blame him, but would instead be happy for his survival.

This is a grand scheme hidden beneath the surface, Batman consistently keeps it from his teammates.

Since the Totality in Luthor's hands still poses some risk, teammates would certainly not agree.

But he is Batman; he doesn't require understanding and support, just the acknowledgment that his plan is feasible, and he will proceed.

But now, Su Ming had seen through Batman and told Diana and Arthur, making things interesting.

Arthur immediately slammed the table: "I said from the beginning to blow up that doomed orb! We can find another way to save the Multiverse, but now, Batman is experimenting with the life of the entire cosmos."

Diana didn't know what to say, being kept in the dark by Batman was one thing, but knowing now that Batman tricked everyone was completely different.

For a moment, she had no solution either.

However, they hadn't noticed, based on the Alien Sea God's story and Deathstroke's previous performances.

They hadn't doubted the authenticity of Deathstroke's words at all...

Su Ming said this and that about Batman, and it fit Batman's original character and behavior patterns so perfectly that Diana and Arthur believed him, and were anxious.

Still, Su Ming only needed to stir the Justice League a little to get the 'Transcend' key; after all, they still needed the Justice League to exist to handle the disasters ahead.

"Sigh, don't worry, in my opinion, Batman surely has a grasp on things." Su Ming gestured for the two to sit down and enjoy some plain water together: "The Totality is temporarily with Luthor, whatever move he takes won't be swift, we all have time."

Arthur was like a headless fly, sitting on a chair and fidgeting, but Diana managed to remain somewhat calm; she believed more in Deathstroke's analysis.

Having smart people in the team makes a difference, they could see through Batman's plan; such a sensation wasn't bad at all.

At least they're not as caught off guard as they used to be.

Unlike in the past, when they'd engage in hostilities with an alien bigwig and hit a deadlock.

Batman would suddenly say: 'That fellow over there, I put a micro atomic bomb in the third compartment on the left side of your belt, take it out and throw it to the other side, then I dug a small hole under that guy's heel, there's a small orb inside that's a micro black hole, also throw it to the other side.'

Imagine how the Justice League must have felt back then.

Since when did he make these preparations on his teammates' bodies? What if it accidentally exploded?

But Batman's plans seldom have accidents, let alone something as fatal as blowing up a teammate; he always had arrangements in place.

Things like bombs would certainly have remote control triggers or countdown contingencies.

So this time with Totality, it's no exception.

Maybe the Totality came from outside the Origin Wall, containing immense power and knowledge beyond anyone's comprehension. But in Batman's eyes, it's merely an orb the enemy covets, so it could be used to set a trap.

How to save Earth? This is the Justice League's top priority.

Why not defeat the ones who want 'Destruction'?

This plan doesn't have any flaws.

"What do we do then?" Diana asked Deathstroke for advice.

Su Ming smiled indifferently, looking down to light a cigarette.

"Godslayer, Feather Fan." With a thought, Godslayer turned into a bright yellow feather fan, which Su Ming held, gently fanning the air.

"Let's go find Barry, and see what the benefits of Divine Speed are? Whoever guesses correctly will get a prize."

"Alright! Let's go with your plan."

Arthur understood the plan, and lay contentedly on the floor beside him, saying the target outright would've sufficed; what's the use of deducing the process? He didn't get it.

He wasted so much blood and felt a little dizzy, better let the gorilla bandage him up...

"Actually, Batman's plan was somewhat rushed, likely due to your capture, forcing him to activate his backup plan; originally, he surely had a more reasonable one that wouldn't raise Luthor's suspicion, delivering the Totality to him."

Su Ming lightly shook the feather fan, looking calm as if seeing through everything.

Diana pouted, refrained from commenting; while Deathstroke was indeed smart, he sometimes appeared eccentric.

The spacecraft was temperature-controlled, why fan the air?

..................

Things were much like Su Ming guessed, Batman was now putting on an act with the Destruction Legion.

Luthor had sent Joker and others to capture Batman, while he and Cheetah stayed to observe the Totality, this multifaceted azure orb with a thousand facets, resembling a sphere.

It emitted a strong blue light, ironically making Luthor's armor appear even greener.

"Last time I intentionally let the Justice League take the Totality, but it seems they didn't figure anything out." The bald man stroked his chin, circling the Totality, speaking to Big Cat as he poked his head out from another side: "Honestly, I'm somewhat disappointed in them."

Barbara was well aware of this affair, last time Luthor claimed the Totality was seized by the Justice League, everyone knew he was acting.

Fully armed, holding the Door Handle of Destruction, and Joker assisting at his side.

How could they possibly lose to a Hawk Woman?

What does that little bird have? It's just a hammer.

Luthor's armor's arsenal could scare her to death...

Yet Luthor still pretended to retreat in embarrassment, with Joker, for what purpose?

To let the Justice League initially handle the Totality, to see what intelligence or discoveries concerning this thing the Justice League had that Luthor didn't know...

Previously, while lurking in the minds of Superman and Mars Hunter, they staged a drama to make the Justice League take the Totality seriously.

Once the Justice League got hands on Totality, they'd eagerly experiment using all methods.

It proved there was no intelligence unknown to Luthor, the Justice League had no clue about this orb, and after research fruitlessly, locked it in a safe.

Luthor, after two days of monitoring through hacking the Hall of Justice's computer network, was assured; now he was to reclaim the Totality.

And thus, he as hoped, stood here; the plan went very smoothly...
