Chapter 618 - Chapter 580: Shedding the Skin

The Godslayer can rapidly transform according to the user's command or imagination, indistinguishable from what they envision.

It connects with people through the soul, which is why its bloodthirsty desire can easily affect the user.

Su Ming can lend the Nightfall Greatsword to Gin, but not the Godslayer. Many strong-willed people who pick up the Godslayer turn into crazed killers, so it's better not to experiment on one's own people.

At this moment, Su Ming is wielding a giant golden chainsaw sword, and as he grips the hilt, the saw blade rapidly starts spinning.

Unfortunately, there's no sound. A genuine chainsaw sword should buzz like a chainsaw upon activation, but the Godslayer's version is completely silent.

No sound, and the best performance can't come out.

However, silence has its advantages. Let it be, there aren't many occasions to use the chainsaw; only when encountering massive foes does it make sense to use a tool with cutting power.

The arm moves like playing whack-a-mole, emerging quickly and retracting just as fast, and Su Ming must inflict irreversible damage in the shortest time possible.

The chainsaw causes massive, open wounds; the damage is complex and can effectively slow down self-healing.

This time, Su Ming didn't drill into the demon army's lines. Although the demons have no faces, subtle backward body posture and instinctive arm curling to their chest indicate they are already fearful.

Terrified of their king, and terrified of Odin, who uses them as cannon fodder. As that single eye turns to them, they begin to scatter to escape before it's too late.

The Fire Giant's troops have issues; the Flame Hounds don't retreat, but they are too unintelligent, and their combat power is even lower.

But those with fiery heads, though intelligent and capable of ranged attacks, the demons possessing wisdom inevitably become cowardly.

Now the army's problem is solved; they've dispersed. Su Ming only needs to deal with this arm. Using himself as bait to create opportunities to deliver a severe blow in one strike.

Su Ming stopped, standing still and adjusting his breathing rhythm.

Then he suddenly rolled sideways, with the golden-armored Odin rolling in a lazy way far off.

Only rotating, no jumping, and he kept his eyes open.

A massive arm suddenly drilled out from the ground, attacking him.

The rolling Odin suddenly burst forward with incredible speed, slid along the ground as if legs had grown from his back.

No other movements, maintaining the rolling posture, but the cloak swiftly dragged him to the blind spot of the arm's attack.

His weapon extended, the cloak dragging him very close to the arm, drawing an arc.

A large amount of foul-smelling blood sprayed out, hot liquid billowing up into green smoke upon hitting the ground, the strike hit home.

But the arm was too thick; the wound still far from cutting the arm off, the sensation told him he only pierced the skin.

The Fire Giant's arm swiftly retracted into the Magic Array, Su Ming took the opportunity to raise the sword blade upright, slicing a long vertical cut as the arm drew back.

The Magic Array disappeared, Su Ming got up from the ground, shaking off the flesh and blood on the weapon.

Surtur's arm now bears an inverted "T"-shaped wound, at least the skin is severed, and now just one more cut on the other side to achieve the purpose of a severe blow.

"Godslayer, Extra Long Soft Sword."

As the arm retracted, Su Ming once again transformed the weapon's form to prepare for the next strike.

The burrowing enemy can't chase, the battle turned turn-based, so use the 'round interval' to prepare for the future.

But this time, the Magic Array appeared at some distance, and Surtur extended his other sword-wielding hand, sweeping horizontally at Su Ming.

Su Ming dodged by flying away; this arm is not the target.

When the arm retracted, Su Ming landed again, dragging a flexible sword like a tape measure, and waited.

If Surtur is smart, he should retreat immediately; past experiences have proven he can't deal with Odin.

But as luck would have it, Surtur knew Odin was fake, yet believed the "Odin" he'd been chasing was Loki transformed...

Couldn't handle the real Odin, but surely could handle Loki, right?

Despite not mentioning how much blocking him from Warnerheim was a major offense, Loki's illusion technique had saved Thor and others in front of him, leaving Surtur enraged.

So now the Fire Giant has no intention of retreating.

The arm's wound is a mere scratch for him; at nearly two hundred meters tall, a cut of dozens of meters on the arm is merely a superficial injury.

Several Giant Sword attacks had no effect, having killed some of his own troops, and once again Surtur extended his previously struck arm, reaching for Odin.

Su Ming finally saw the opportunity, worried the Fire Giant might give up halfway. As the flexible sword wound around the thick red pillar, cutting skin on the other side, he showed a faint smile.

"Godslayer, Pitchfork!"

Sharp claws instantly pierced the Fire Giant's arm skin, and Su Ming grabbed the other end, applying simultaneous force with Strangulation and his cloak.

"Open for me!"

All his muscles bulged, and Strangulation pushed against the heat exerting some effort; yet, Surtur contributed the most, with his swift recoil and impressive strength.

With a ripping sound akin to fabric, Su Ming peeled the skin off the Fire Giant's arm like removing a glove...

The soft, empty shell looked like a giant shed insect, the red skin translucent to the light, dropping like a huge blanket.

No screams, no roars, just the arm spraying blood, electrifiedly withdrawing into the Magic Array.

After a moment, confirming the Fire Giant wouldn't dare stick its hand out, even the demon army had retreated, Su Ming felt relieved.

He started collecting the skin like rolling a carpet; Wilson Enterprises is a big company, its office lobby red carpet can be laid.

Ordinary carpets worry about cigarette burns; this one doesn't, flame immune, there should be surplus to lay in his and Gin's offices.

After two minutes, he had a bundle of rolled skin taller than two Su Mings, weighing several tons; he patted off dust and stored it in the small silk pouch.

Demon Hide, occupies one slot.

He let out a slow sigh, allowing Strangulation to mend some exposed areas.

Then he sheathed his weapon and soared into the air, following the direction where Gin and others had left. As for the mess left on the battlefield, let nature and time heal it.

He hadn't flown far when he saw Gin and the Mage, hovering horseback in the air, seemingly waiting for him.

"Surtur has temporarily retreated; let's continue forward."
