The god-like powers of Those Who Sit Above in Shadow were numerous, but Su Ming wondered, and indeed there was no time element among them... At this point in time, these beings hadn't seen Deadpool's time-traveling ugly mug.
Why did Su Ming suddenly decide to inherit the unknown legacy of the Supreme Mage? It was actually just for the Time Gem tied to the position.
Though it was sudden, the Time Gem was the most straightforward way to resolve this situation.
Pull them out from where they're most skilled and into the close combat battlefield where Su Ming and Deadpool excel—this was a tactical choice.
With the Time Gem and the Continuity Gem, they could completely restrain the opponent's authority, at least within this monistic universe of the 40K Universe, both sides' power was actually limited by an invisible bottleneck.
After all, there's only so high the limit of a monistic universe goes. If they went all out, the entire universe could likely be destroyed.
This didn't align with Those Who Sit Above in Shadow's plan to keep burning gods for warmth. They didn't have the ability to create worlds either, so by using the whole universe as a hostage, Su Ming had a guaranteed win.
As for the people in this universe thinking of themselves as pawns... As long as they didn't find out, what was the harm?
In short, after sending in a trump card like Deadpool, those guys couldn't even stand steadily, let alone use energy emission skills, without feeling sick.
The dual blades in Deadpool's hands were made of carbon sodium steel, the legendary anti-healing metal, with its particles used to create anti-healing beams as well.
As for why Deadpool had such things, it was obviously for his other 'friend' besides Steel Cable and Spider Hero, his love-hate relationship with Wolverine.
With this pair of dual blades, even if he couldn't cut through Wolverine's bones, it at least increased his odds a bit.
Although they were always tied, with fragments of flesh and a metallic skeleton often being the battle's result, this was, in fact, a testament to their friendship!

Deadpool twisted his head 180 degrees directly, tracing a couple of scratches in the humanoid black shadow in front of him with his weapon, as if slicing sweet soup with chopsticks, only causing some ripples but nothing else.
"You see it, how do you expect me to chase them away? I look like I'm fighting shadows. If you'd prepared earlier, you could have started already!"
"Take off!"
"Walter?!" With a sword clamped in his mouth, Deadpool used a free hand to dig his ear, then regained a firm grip and started hacking away: "Though a few of them do look female, long legs too..."
After saying this, he wiggled his hips in a sleazy way, quickly thrusting his pelvis like he had a little motor installed.
Su Ming rubbed his face, geez, he knew it would be like this. Any battlefield with Deadpool was sure to devolve into chaos.
Those Who Sit Above in Shadow and the God of Gods borderlines were nearly losing their sanity out of fright because of Deadpool, but this didn't exactly solve anything. At a crucial moment, Deadpool wouldn't follow tactical arrangements, a real killer.
However, Su Ming still had some obedience in hand.
The black liquid life form had ample camouflage in this place. Like a black thread, Strangulation spread upwards, climbing the invisible throne, tracking down Deadpool chasing others, grabbing a corner of his uniform.
Then gave it a sudden yank.

Seeing Deadpool's face would at most make the strong-willed feel nauseous and gag, but seeing Deadpool's backside was like gazing at a molting red full moon.

This wouldn't necessarily kill them, but it was crucial to let them feel pain.
Deadpool himself incessantly experienced pain; not all of those beings were affected. Those capable of counterattacking did exist, thus Deadpool had lost count of how many times he'd been hit by the white subway.
Yet with his cousin around, Deadpool felt quite at ease because all it took was one look at the mountainous black heads below to know they had secured victory.
If not crazy enough, then let others believe you are utterly insane.
Madness is indeed a useful attribute, often coming in handy, especially when planning to deal with a bunch of gods.
Just like Su Ming had said before, they had come to negotiate terms, but given that they were non-mainstream Mages, using some physical means first was indeed more practical...
