Chapter 823 - Chapter 778: The Woman Who Can't Leave the House

Actually, his original plan wasn't like this, he just wanted to get some pocket money from Damian.

But upon noticing Damian's current bloodline issue, Su Ming changed his plan. Batman cannot prove that he is Da Mi's father, Old Deathstroke does not want to be Da Mi's father, but that doesn't matter.

This father, someone will definitely take on the role!

Opportunity strikes when least expected; if not seized, one will surely regret it; when the time comes and one does nothing, disaster will ensue.

A chance suddenly appearing out of nowhere, if not properly utilized, will surely bring trouble in the future.

Batman has few weaknesses, even if one were to kidnap those around him, it wouldn't have much coercive effect.

But if the 'hostage' willingly follows the kidnapper, that's a different story. Batman wouldn't have much to say, and at critical moments, Su Ming can use Da Mi to accomplish tasks.

Getting Damian to turn against Batman is unlikely, but Su Ming can trick him into doing some suicidal missions. If Batman doesn't want Damian to face some ghost or Three Palaces, he'll have to think carefully before planning to turn against Su Ming.

Hope there won't be a day of fallout, Su Ming prefers to solve issues through negotiation, but the Bat is always something that cannot be ignored, influencing and mastering Damian and the Teen Titans might be useful in the future.

However, the traces of Mad Laugh appear, disrupting the plan's execution. Su Ming must consider the sustainability of Earth and slow down his little schemes.

Watching Damian's face turn red from the alcohol's stimulation, trying to maintain a cool expression despite the drink.

Su Ming smiled and shook his head slightly, sighing inwardly.

Child, it's not that I'm cruel, but in this world, everyone operates this way. At least you have value, and valuable people don't die easily.

"Bottoms up."

"Gulp!"

Listening to his words, Damian braced himself, visibly seeing his esophagus contract as a large swallow of strong alcohol went down.

He wanted to stick out his tongue to cool off, but his teammates were present, he couldn't show weakness, so he just opened his mouth and breathed heavily.

"All beginnings are difficult." Su Ming patted his head and stood up to walk towards the tavern's door: "Wait for me, I'm going to pick someone up."

The youngsters gathered around Damian, Wally looked at his face and curiously asked: "Hey, Damian, what's it like to drink alcohol?"

Damian closed his mouth, expressionlessly saying: "You can try it yourself, but it's best not to now."

Wally hurriedly waved his hand and shook his head: "Forget it, Divine Speed and alcohol can only choose one, I'll still pick Divine Speed."

"Sit and wait, what we'll face next, I only have some idea now, wait for Deathstroke to come back for a detailed explanation." Damian had his teammates sit and wait, during fights against it, the injured wouldn't only be himself.

Failing to take the chance with the Flash Bomb to kill the monster, it fully utilized its speed, leaving Teen Titans in a precarious situation.

Wally could easily catch up with it, but his attacks were like tickling, clearly lacking understanding of Divine Speed.

Himeko sat coldly beside Damian, imitating Deathstroke's behavior earlier, first snapping her fingers and then ordering alcohol.

The cup floated over, she took off her mask and skillfully poured the drink into her mouth, letting out a satisfied sigh, while the others watched her with varied expressions.

Darn... how... mature! Is this the feeling of being an adult?!

Damian, however, watched Deathstroke's back as he pushed open the door to leave, an uncontrollable alternative possibility sprang to his mind.

Talia told him that his biological father is Deathstroke...

Which Deathstroke?

Even though the Otherworldly Deathstroke in front of him looks only in his twenties, Deathstroke ages extremely slowly, Damian has heard of the Miracle Cure.

Maybe he's been looking for the wrong person all along?

The most impossible conclusion, when all other possibilities are eliminated, even if it seems incredible, is it the truth....

"Everyone can only drink one cup, don't get drunk." Damian issued a restriction, then sank into thought.

........................

Su Ming appeared on the rooftop of Harley's apartment in New York, quickly went downstairs back to the room, the door lock was broken, Harley never locks the door at night.

Now the two are still safe and sound, Harley resting her head on Ivy, drooling quite a bit, shining under the moonlight.

The post-drink heat caused her to kick the blanket off, now the two's physiques were almost uncovered to view.

Su Ming closed the door behind him, drew his weapon and remained vigilant: "Ivy, wake Harley, I know you're not asleep."

Ivy's eyes snapped open, and she was lifted up by several vines, holding Harley: "What? Failed your date with Wonder Woman, and now you plan to take it out on us?"

"Even if I were desperate enough to mess with 'plants,' I wouldn't choose now." Su Ming replied coldly to prove that this wasn't a joke: "Wake her up, arm yourselves."

Seeing his serious tone, Ivy realized something was amiss. She immediately raised her hand and summoned a vine from the flower pot on the windowsill. The vine had no leaves, only a small flower at the tip.

The flower was stuck to Harley's nose, and she twitched twice before jumping right up.

"Ugh! It stinks! It stinks!" She ran and jumped frantically on the bed as if a pungent smell had invaded her mind, driving her crazy: "Ouch!"

She stepped on Ivy's foot and fell onto the bed.

It must be some kind of biochemical compound scent, and now Harley was not only awake but also sober.

Harley's hair hung over her shoulders, and she beat Ivy repeatedly with a turtle punch: "Naughty Little Red, tricking me again!"

"Not me, he said it was urgent." Ivy pointed at Su Ming immediately, with an innocent look.

Only then did Harley turn to see the fully armed Su Ming, the golden glow of the Godslayer gently rippling indoors, and she climbed up from the bed, scratching her head.

"What's now? It's not even dawn yet." She yawned broadly and stretched like a cat in front of Su Ming.

"Mad Laugh is back, no time to explain, get ready for battle now." Su Ming stood steadily in the room, alert to any movements around.

Harley's eyes lit up; it was time for her to save the world again.

She ran back to the bed, put on the T-shirt and bubble socks tossed on the floor, but couldn't find her shiny shorts and had to search around.

Just then, Su Ming sensed some dangerous aura. Sure enough, in the next second, a monster burst through the door!

The Godslayer was split into sword and shield, with the shield deflecting enemy attacks, while Strangulation Su Ming dispersed the force into the ground, casually slicing off the monster's forelimbs and head.

With the blessing of divine weapons, cold weapons always worked well against biological enemies, just like this kind in Gotham.

Killing one wasn't the end; countless green eyes were watching him outside in the dark corridor.

"Hurry up!"

Su Ming blocked the doorway while Ivy immediately sealed all windows with vines, her clothes easily formed by tangling several vines and sprouting more leaves.

The Godslayer combined into one, transforming into a larger Tower Shield, while he reached back for the Nightfall Greatsword.

"Boom! Boom!"

The sound of monsters crashing into the shield echoed continuously; even though Su Ming distributed the impact into the building, the structure itself shook incessantly.

Their forepaws kept scratching the shield, reaching through the gaps between the shield and doorframe, and with the sword's light dancing, the stench of rotten body fluids spread throughout the room.

"Still haven't found it?!" Su Ming jabbed a monster through the shield's gap with the giant sword, then turned to shout at Harley.

"Found it!" Harley grabbed it and slipped it on mid-stride, smiling as she picked up the hammer by the bed.

Meanwhile, Ivy faced the monsters climbing down the wall outside the window, tearing at the vines blocking their entrance. She not only defended but also controlled the vines to counterattack, strangling them.

Harley, carrying the hammer, hopped to the shoe rack, opened the cabinet, and took out several boxes, laughing and turning back to ask Poison Ivy: "Little Red, which shoes look better when I'm saving the world? The white high-top boots or these rhinestone ones?"

Poison Ivy rolled her eyes; it might be better to let Harley stay drunk.

Su Ming was speechless, too. Now's the time to choose shoes?!

"Wear whatever you want!" Su Ming said, exasperated, slicing down another monster.

"Hmm, I see." Harley tilted her head in consideration, then her eyes widened, and her smile grew exaggerated: "Are you saying I look good in anything?!"

"You can assume that's what I meant, hurry up and wear your shoes, madwoman!"

"Alright, alright." Harley wore an expression of pride, mixed with 'I guess I can't help it', happily slipping on white boots and moved about: "Hold out a bit more, I'll help after I'm done with makeup, and we'll fight our way out."

She said as she swayed and walked into the bathroom.

If it were just Su Ming alone, he could hold off these monsters as long as needed, but he still didn't know how much connection there was between Mad Laugh and these creatures, and naturally wanted to minimize his time in their sight.

Harley, however, showed no sense of urgency, moving sluggishly, needing to dress up before heading out, unlike Diana, who would grab her weapon and go.

But Harley was both bait and a solution, and Su Ming still needed Poison Ivy to contact the 'May Queen'; the invisible Justice League Flying Device was parked on the rooftop terrace.

People and things were still useful now; they couldn't be abandoned.
